While I don't think there is a built-in way to do it through StoryMaps: the first thing that came to my mind while reading your post would be having some sort of auto-reset or timeout function so that after a set period of inactivity, the StoryMap goes back to its default view and is ready for the next group that wanders by. I believe there are browser plugins that can do this. Also, this doesn't answer your question, but wanted to share this great example of a museum exhibit shown with StoryMaps in case you haven't come across it already: Experience a 3D tour of an art exhibition in ArcGIS StoryMaps . It's not what you're trying to do, but sounds like you'd appreciate it and could maybe get ideas for other projects.

@HarrietDowney I have this exact use case as well. Being able to have a link mid-story for a user to jump ahead to another topic within the collection would be handy. I tried to do this manually by copying the URL for a particular item within the collection and linking that, but then it opens up a second instance of the collection within the first collection, which isn't good. Opening up another tab isn't great either. May end up creating a psuedo-Collection within a Hub page or an ExB app to get around this

I noticed this issue on a previous project a few months ago but figured it could be specific to my video file and worked around it. Now I've noticed it on another project with a different file, and am wondering if anyone else can reproduce. The issue is that if you have a video with a solid, light-colored background (white, for example) and put it into your main layout using the Float Right option with Playback set to "Autoplay without controls", there will often be a thin grey line visible on the righthand edge of the video. I've shared a test story that has the same video file inserted twice, once with Float Left and once with Float Right. You'll see that the Float Left is always fine. The Float Right video often has a visible line, though it seems to depend on the width of the browser window. If you drag and resize the browser window to make it narrower, the line will appear and disappear at different widths. I also inserted a video using the "Small" layout option and it seems that as you narrow the width of the browser window, the line will alternate visibility between the Float Right and Small video blocks. It doesn't seem to ever appear on mobile. I'm seeing this behavior in the latest versions of Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Perhaps a container alignment issue with the video block? I've attached the video file I used as well, and put a screenshot below. Both videos I've seen it happen with are H.264 MP4 files and a StoryMap theme with a white background. https://arcg.is/1DD8eC1 I realize how relatively inconsequential this is, but hoping that also means it could be a relatively simple fix.

Thanks for replying, I haven't found anything either, so am also planning to do that manually.

Hi Annina, did you ever make any progress on this? I'm in the early stages of implementing indoors and am thinking about network paths between buildings as well.

As things often seem to go, I figured out the problem minutes after writing all this. But I'll leave this question up in case someone else runs into the same issue. There was simply a leading space in my Facility ID on the Facilities layer that I couldn't see. I've been having issues with this a lot, I think it's something to do with how I double click a cell in the attribute table to enter info, and it puts a space into null cells by default or something. Anyways, check that the Facility ID matches what you put in the Levels layer. Copy/pasting straight from one into the other might help if there's a leading or trailing space you can't see.

I'm having an issue where the Floor Filter dropdowns in an ArcGIS Pro web map allow me to choose the Site and Facility, but I don't get an option to choose the Level. By default, I can see the map is automatically filtering to the Level that is set as 0 in the Vertical order. The Level IDs and Facility IDs match across layers from what I can tell. If it matters, the ID format I'm using across layers looks like this. Site ID Facility ID Level ID S1 S1.B1 S1.B1.LG S1 S1.B1 S1.B1.L1 S1 S1.B1 S1.B1.L2 I'm seeing this behavior in both ArcGIS Pro 3.2.2 and 3.4.2. I have another map with different data where the filter works fine for the Level, so I'm assuming this is user error or a very obscure bug. I've tried changing to the ID format I'm using to match the working map (simple numbers, no letters or periods), and it still doesn't work. Have tried closing and reopening both the map and project a few times and have played with the Vertical Order field—which updates what shows on the map by default, but I still never get the option to choose a different floor from a dropdown. The dropdown after Facility just doesn't appear at all. Any ideas?

Update: Perhaps this is just user error? I came across an example that appears to have theme colors applied to the header navigation. I went into my own theme settings and found there is a check box to "Use theme colors" for the header, and the tooltip says "Uses your theme’s background color, body text color, and fonts", however it's still unclear to me how this is determining the colors. Below is an example where the theme background is deep green and the body text is white, and when you hover the mouse over a tab it changes to a lighter green. Unclear where the lighter green comes from--if it's in the theme settings or if the StoryMap automatically dynamically takes a different value of the background hue. Here is my own example where I've applied a theme with a white background and black text, and my accent color is orange. But the hover highlight is grey and the selected story is black. If this isn't just user error, then maybe the idea can be updated simply to clarify or give more control with how the theme is applied to the Collection navigation header.

Currently, we can adjust the appearance of a StoryMap Collection's landing page via themes (which is great!). However, the themes do not apply to the header navigation buttons for both the tabbed and bulleted layouts. The backing color instead retains the default StoryMaps teal. It would be great if the StoryMap Collection pulled the color for these from the Button settings within the applied theme. Or if there are concerns with introducing accessibility issues here, at least giving users the option to change it to some neutral color combination like grey and black. This would be beneficial for organizations with strict branding policies, as well as to simply help the Collection appear more cohesive.

@GBacon Sorry but I still haven't found anything better than the three RGB fields solution for thematic rasters yet. If you don't need to know the specific values within those ranges anymore, you could try converting it to a thematic raster by consolidating all those values in each range with the raster calculator, then follow the general workflow in that video I linked in the solution.

Hello there. The built in Color Vision Simulator introduced in ArcGIS Pro 3.0 is a wonderful feature. We'd love to see it expanded with an additional black and white option. This would have multiple benefits for map designers, including accessibility checks for achromatopsia, general contrast checking on colors, and previewing what a color map would look like if it happened to be photocopied by somebody (for example: in emergency management, field teams sometimes want to take paper maps into areas with no power or service), which would encourage or inspire the use of symbology that is not entirely color dependent. Thanks!

Thanks @JustinColville . That works well. I just tested it on an account that I know holds Map Area items, and the items came up using both your method as well as the one below using user.items(). The latter wasn't working for me before, though, when checking on an account that had all other items manually deleted first. I'm not sure why the Map Areas wouldn't show up in that case, and unfortunately I already deleted those Map Areas manually with the AGO Assistant. Curious if they don't show up if the parent map item doesn't exist anymore and they're "orphaned", so to speak? I'll have to try and test. Thanks for you help! user = gis.users.search("a_username_here")

for i in u.items():
