Hi John Could you share the Excel design form with us - then we can possibly be of more assistance.

Hi Chris I think you were on the right track - see if the attached example works for you. Basically, in the next repeat record I calculated the start date to be that of the previous record using the indexed-repeat functoin: indexed-repeat(${end_date_time_b}, ${behaviour_records}, position(..)-1)

I think only a few question types use the height parameter: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/desktop/create-surveys/esricustomcolumns.htm "The body::esri:style column accepts a height parameter for map questions and image questions using the signature appearance." Maybe you could experiment with setting the font size of those items? you could use some of the text formatting techniques: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/survey123/browser/create-surveys/styleyourform.htm

Hi James It seems those fields are "read only"? If they are then you could use a note field with HTML to improve the visual appearance of those fields whilst setting the actual fields to hidden... This way you can add all the read-only attributes into one note field and just put breaks <br> in-between them. You could even use a table html element to make it look neater.

Hi Kim It is a known limitation when using the Inbox and Calculations - since a field has a value coming from the Inbox, Survey123 wont try to overwrite that value. Please have a look at this discussion for more information and a possible solution: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-questions/using-calculations-to-prepopulate-answers-when/m-p/870816#M28086

I agree - it makes more sense to me as well to allow the configuration of this in the WebMap and not the source / view layer

Hi @ZacharySutherby Im intrigued, what does the ${calwork} or ${calwork2} calculation do? I would have assumed "or" returns either True or False but seems it works more like coalesce in this instance? Since when does an "or" calculation return a string 🤷:male_sign:

Hi Yuko Have a look at this post, it seems to relate to the same issue: https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-questions/survey123-where-does-iphone-store-the-photos-taken/td-p/843345

Hi Naomi It seems this is still a "limitation". Not sure if it by design but from what I've read you have to configure it on layer level. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-online-questions/new-map-viewer-does-not-honor-field-configurations/td-p/1050613

Hi Jose I don't seem to get the same error as you. Could you be using an old version of Connect perhaps? I've attached my working example - perhaps you could see where you went wrong by comparing my version with yours. Just as a side-note, you can also use the 'end' question type to capture the end date and time of the survey. end End date and time of the survey. This is a hidden field, not visible on the form.

Hi Alfred I had another look at what I think you are trying to achieve. I stand corrected but i dont think you can create an "expression" inside JavaScript and then have it execute as an expression in Survey123. I think it just returns the string/text that your function calculates. There is a less elegant way to achieve what you're trying to do in Survey123 and it will highly depend on the number of choices that you have in your survey. I've created a survey with a select-multiple question (animals) and then a second list that grows according to the items selected in the multiple select. I've seen before that null values can mess around with calculations so i first did some calculations to see which choices were selected in the multiple select: Basically if an option is not selected I just defaulted the calculation to the "notselected" string. Next I did the filter calculation based on this expression: contains(Animals,${c1}) or contains(Animals,${c2}) or contains(Animals,${c3}) or contains(Animals,${c4}) or contains(Animals,${c5}) or contains(Animals,${c6}) I hope this helps, although I could see that you were looking for a much more elegant solution! I have attached my XLSX design file as well.

Hi Alfred Do you mind attaching your Excel design file of your survey? It would help a lot to see how your choices are structured to see exactly what you're trying to achieve.

Hi Although I am not sure why the question is shown like that you can change the width of the whole survey by changing the width parameter in the survey URL: Adjusting the width of the survey in the screen (width) The width parameter sets the width, in pixels, of the survey in the screen. For example: ...?width=1500
