Update: ESRI Support has officially logged this as a bug: #BUG-000126543 Submitting a survey from Survey123 for ArcGIS (website) would give a "Failed to submit -Cannot set property 'z' of null" if survey with related tables that was made from a Hosted Feature Service and a Feature Service from ArcGIS Server was published from Survey123 Connect version 3.6.137 The best workaround for submitting in a browser is as Chelsea suggests below: use a URL parameter to open the Survey in the 3.3 Version. (I assume we should move this thread to a separate post for others who are searching for a solution. But I'm not sure how to do that.)

I'd also like to figure this out. I do see some, but not all, of the config files in my ConfigFile folder listed in the pull down. Ideally, I'd like to easily switch to different config files without renaming anything when I switch between different client's projects/mxds. I am also confused about the naming convention of the current file. Is it always named loaded.aa.config? When is it named loaded.water.config? My water configs get renamed to "aa" when they are loaded.

Thank you, Chelsea. I am now seeing the exact same behavior as you: Adding '...?version=3.3' to the URL prevents the error when submitting the form in a browser. Using the latest version (3.6) results in "Failed to submit - Cannot set property 'z' of null". I will take James' advice and submit a Support Ticket. FYI: Our form is not old; it was developed in the last few months. In Settings>Version it was created using 3.6. I don't have the option to check 3.3 as the version. The form failing to initialize error we were having was due to unsupported field names in the lookup table csv stored in our Survey123 Connect media folder. And the GUID not being passed to the feature layer upon submission was due to not using the bind::esri:fieldType of 'null' in the temporary calculate row, before passing the correctly formatted GUID to our relationship key field.

Actually, you reminded me - there originally was a repeat in our form from the relationship. We had deleted the Repeat Group, but I believe there was another "Form End" or similar field that was auto-created that also had to be deleted. This may have been related to the error we were getting. I'm currently not able to reproduce it as we changed multiple variables and now the form won't initialize. (Remember your good troubleshooting workflows, kids!)

We're still working on it. My guess was that this was being caused by Survey123 not managing the relationship between the submitted record and the related point feature class. If submitted using the app, all the data except for the calculated GUID (used for the relationship) and the link/relationship itself is getting populated. We have followed James' other post on formatting the GUID (https://community.esri.com/thread/208613-pass-global-id-from-collector-to-g ), and can see the correctly formatted string value in a notes field in the form. However, the feature service is not accepting/storing this string currently. Once we fix this issue, I will see if the browser issue is resolved.

Hi, thanks for creating this necessary tool. Has anyone been able to use the "Remove" Classes tool in the Editor tab? I've tried it after opening just the .esriGeoNet file and after importing a Geometric Network from my GDB. This tool always seems to be grayed out. I need to remove 2 feature classes that have been retired from the configuration schema. I am not able to recreate the Geometric Network unless I recreate these missing feature classes in the feature dataset. And even after that I am not able to remove them.

Hi Jake, Is this functionality enabled in ArcGIS Pro? We published our feature layer from Pro, and created a Survey123 Form from the related table (monitoring data) of the first feature class (monitoring locations). We'd now like to time enable the data in our web map and Dashboard. But I'm only seeing information on using a Join in ArcGIS Pro. I need to use a relationship class to support the Survey123 form. Is this currently possible? Do I need to download the feature service as a GDB and open in ArcMap, time enable and republish?

We are also getting a version of this error when using a browser (Chrome and Explorer), but not when using the App. "Failed to submit - Cannot set property 'z' of null". We have cleared our cache and restored the stock style formatting, but this did not resolve the issue. FYI: The feature layer we based our form on is a related table to a point feature layer. Neither the related table, nor the parent point feature layer have Z values enabled. There is not a geopoint question in the form. The only question in the form that points to a field in the parent (point) feature layer is a hidden field for the GUID that the relate is based on.

Hi Shannon; great question! I've subscribed to this thread. I'm in a similar situation, coordinating GIS reference data and project data storage for a consulting firm with 50+ users across the West Coast. We recently upgraded to Enterprise and I am in the process of figuring out how to move our commonly used reference data from multiple file shares to out Portal, yet still keep it organized in a logical hierarchy (by Region, State, County, City, Client, etc.) while also having a descriptive name that includes the publishing date. I will try to remember to post any updates or issues I find in this workflow here for others to consider. But I'm also very open to solutions other consulting-type firms have implemented.

I found this same behavior in ArcGIS Pro 2.3.0. My Related table published empty until I made all fields able to view.

What he said! The current workflow is a massive waste of time. And it makes the GIS publisher look very unprofessional to the end host when you are constantly asking them to change the URL of their embedded links.

Seriously??!!! I figured I just wasn't finding the function in Pro. This is one of the main reasons we were sold on switching to Pro: it was supposed to be easier to manage our web services. Arrrrggggg.....

..."most people did NOT use the connectivity rules"... ? So you need the Data Reviewer extension to use the out of the box LGIM for building a water geometric network? Or you have to migrate your string fields and domains to integer fields and domains so you can create subtypes out of them?

Thanks Jake. I did end up commenting it out with no issues. I’m on Python 2.7 and ArcMap 10.4.1. I also tried it in Pro 2.3 with whatever version of Python that uses (I’m still confused on how to switch between the two). Searching around, it looks like the Requests module didn’t get installed with Arc Desktop until 10.5. As I do have a requests module installed, it just doesn’t have the “disable_warnings” attribute, maybe Pro 2.3 comes with a version of the module that doesn’t include this attribute? FYI: I found the most recent “Requests” module installer on the web: https://2.python-requests.org/en/master/ ; I just haven’t gotten IT to install it yet to test. I don’t see “disable_warnings” in the TOC for the module, though. Stack Overflow says urllib3 is not part of the requests module anymore, as of the 2017 revision (>=2.16.0): https://stackoverflow.com/questions/27981545/suppress-insecurerequestwarning-unverified-https-request-is-being-made-in-pytho Joe Bryant GIS Coordinator WEST YOST ASSOCIATES direct 530.761.0226

Thanks for the helpful update, Robert! If you were planning on executing the script from Windows Task Scheduler, would you move the comments hash from the sys.argv variables and put them in front of the arcpy.GetParameterAsText variables in your script, or are you just explaining where those variable will receive their arguments from? In other words, do we need to use sys.argv for Scheduled Tasks?
