I am currently building a rather long survey in Connect with a large number of potential questions. I am currently up to row 615 in the form and I have noticed that the column names and dropdown (ie for appearance) lists are no longer there. They seem to disappear and stop working after about row 572. Is there somewhere in the form settings where I can increase/extend this?

Hi Cheryl I extract the lats and longs for the centroid of the Parcel Polygon in Field Maps/Explorer using Arcade (I found on the forums and slightly tweaked): function MetersToLatLon(mx, my) { // Converts XY point from Spherical Mercator EPSG:900913 to lat/lon in WGS84 Datum // Fuente: http://www.maptiler.org/google-maps-coordinates-tile-bounds-projection/ var originShift = 2.0 * PI * 6378137.0 / 2.0; var lon = (mx / originShift) * 180.0; var lat = (my / originShift) * 180.0; lat = 180.0 / PI * (2.0 * Atan( Exp( lat * PI / 180.0)) - PI / 2.0); return [lat, lon]; } var poly = Geometry($feature); var result = ""; if (!IsEmpty(poly)) { var pnt_centr = Centroid(poly); var latlon = MetersToLatLon(pnt_centr.x, pnt_centr.y); result = latlon[0] ; //returns latitude replace with [1] to get longitude } else { result = ""; } return result; and in the launch url I parse those expressions to the lats and long fields in the Survey123 form. eg https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/xxxxx?portalUrl=https://xxxxx/portal&open=menu&field:longitude={expression/expr1}&field:latitude={expression/expr0} hope that helps

If the csv is referenced in the Linked Content, does the device need to be online in order to work? Even if the list has been recently updated. Cheers, Chris

Hi All I was sure this was possible but cant get it to work. I have enabled editing on the inbox on a form. I have created this url in a feature popup in field maps to edit a record: https://survey123.arcgis.app/?itemID=a5b8fb3dd1b6430c81f359638f124c48&action=edit&folder=inbox&update=true&filter=objectid:{objectid} The form opens ok, but just goes to the inbox, filters to the appropriate record, but doesnt automatically open it. Its the end of a very long day....there something obvious I'm missing here? Cheers, Chris

If you are specifically searching for and opening record 15, try removing the curly brackets at the end. arcgis-survey123://?itemID=xxxxxxxxxx&action=edit&folder=inbox&update=true&filter=objectid:15

Hi Kerry The exif (GPS) information should come across with the photo when you export it. If you look at the Properties and the Details tab of the photo, you will see the Lats and Longs. It is possible to write a python script to batch export attached photos to a folder. You can then use the GeoTagged Photos To Points tool in arcgis pro to create a point feature class of those photos. I just tested this with some photos from one of my surveys and it worked. If the exif is empty as you suggested in your post, and you using iOS, you might need to check your photo format settings as I described. Cheers, Chris

Hi Kerry You can extract the coordinates of an image by using a pulldata function. For example: pulldata("@exif", ${image1}, "GPSLatitude") pulldata("@exif", ${image1}, "GPSLongitude") The caveat on this is that if you are going to use previous images from the file option, in iOS you must have the Format type set to 'Most Compatible' under the camera setttings. Hope that helps Cheers, Chris

Hi Bridget I do the very same thing using the pulldata function. A user selects the common name and the Genus, Species and NSXCode are retrieved from the csv. The pulldata function in the calculation column (of the field you wish to populate) is like this.: pulldata('flora', 'common_name', 'Scientific', ${commonnameflora}),"") flora - the name of the csv file in the media folder common_name - the common_name Name field in the table Scientific - the Scientific Name field in the table ${commonnameflora} - the name of the field in Survey123 where the common name is selected. I am happy to share more snippets of the xlsform if you needed. Just DM me. Cheers Chris

Thanks Phil ... I figured as much! I have ended up just adding a note informing the user that they need to upload the image again in the Observation section. Cheers, Chris

Hi @Anonymous User I think the answer to this is no, but... Can yu copy an image from one image question to another? The reason I ask is that I have tweaked the above workflow a bit. I now have a null image question at the begining of the survey that allows the user to upload an image in order to grab the survey location via an exif pulldata calcualtion. The observations related to that survey are then part of a repeat. Is it possible to give the option to the user to copy/attach the image to the first observation in the repeat? I could just get them to attach the image again, but I thought I could stream line it a bit. Of course thinking about it, if this did work I imagine that it would not only attach the image to the first repeat, but to each subsequent one as well?! I dont wont to attach my whole xlsform, but here is what I was attempting. type name label hint guidance_hint appearance required required_message readonly default calculation constraint constraint_message relevant select_one YesNo copyimage Use this image for first species record horizontal string-length(${image3})>0 begin repeat image image4 image if(${copyimage}='Yes',${image3},'') end repeat

Hi @Anonymous User In the post above you mentioned that "Additional workflows in the app are required to save the original EXIF values out of the HEIC image, and then re-write the values into the JPEG once converted" So is there something that can be written in the xlsform to do this? Or does the user need to go into the camera settings on their device and change the Camera format settings to "Most Compatible" Cheers, Chris

Hi All Does anyone know if it possible to have a relevant question based on whether an image is captured from the camera or a file? My workflow is this: A user might be travelling along (doing other tasks) spots a species and takes a photo with their device. Sometime later they will open the Opportunistic Species capture form enter some information about the species and add the photo. If this photo is added from file, I would like the user to have the option to override the Lats and Long using the exif from the image. I can grab the exif info no problem and use that to locate the geopoint, but I only want that as an option to be displayed if an image is added via the file option. Cheers, Chris
