I think Neal has hit it on the head here. I was going to guess that you were using a Note field. Use a calculate or text type field and set them as "hidden" under appearance so users don't see them. Use Note fields for interim calculations where you don't want to save those bits of data and the final output that merges them should be calculate or text.

In Field Maps, if a user needs to redownload a map area for offline use, they currently need to manually remove the offline area, either find the offline area for download or define it themselves (our standard workflow) and download the map. Idea: Add a button to each offline area in Field Maps that allows the user to recreate the offline area from scratch (not just sync datasets within the offline area). Use Case: Streamline and simplify the data management for end users within the Field Maps app. Removes the need to manually remove maps, and then select or redefine (navigate to desired area) for each map. This can be quite time consuming when multiple offline areas across multiple maps are in use as you need to wait for each map to download before proceeding to the next one.

In Field Maps, if a user has offline areas downloaded, and the map owner makes changes to the webmap (or feature services in the webmap) shema, those changes don't get automatically updated when the map is sync'd. IDEA: Add a warning message in Field Maps alerting users to changes to the webmap that can only be seen if the offline area is redownloaded. Use Case: Currently, there are no warning messages when changes are made, relying solely on comms to be sent by the map owner (which, lets face it, isn't always effective - raise your hand if you read all your emails every day? 🦗🦗🦗). A warning that changes have been made which won't be shown via Sync is an effective way of alerting the user that they need to regenerate an offline area (bonus points if the message states what the changes are).

I would like to see a warning on any offline map that says that there have been changes made to the source map which won't appear unless the offline area is regenerated (and an option to do so, regardless of if it was pre-prepared or an ad-hoc/user defined area).

Just to clarify, I don't mean skip features in the input layer that don't match existing features in the Target layer based on Matching fields. When I say "remove", I mean more like "delete" features that are already in the Target layer that don't exist in the Input layer. You should be left with only updated features in both datasets and newly added features.

Why wouldn't you direct the public to use Field Maps now that it also works with GeoPDF's and you don't need to sign in to use it? The main downside or missing feature is the ability to capture data and export to something like KMLs or Shapefiles from Field Maps (see these ideas - Export Field Maps Markup to KML - Esri Community and Create markup features from GPS location - Esri Community)

Nice suggestion - I too find the zoom function frustrating at times when using it in a moving vehicle (e.g. on the fireline in a fire truck when offroad). Also, good idea including how many users it impacts.

The Append tool has the Update Features option, allowing the user to define fields to match the input data to the target data, and where features in both datasets match, those features are updated instead of appended (avoiding duplication). IDEA: Add a toggle box option as part of the Update Features function that removes and features from the Target dataset that don't have a matching feature in the Input dataset. USE CASE: This will be handy where a dataset should be a complete copy of the input dataset, but currently requires 2 different processes to achieve this. Either Append (to add new features and update existing matching features) plus a Join > Filter > Delete Rows process to find and remove any old features that are no longer relevant. The other way of achieving this would be to delete all existing features and appending the complete new input dataset. I want to avoid this though as we're talking thousands of records and that is time consuming when dealing with feature services in ArcGIS Online.

I think this is a great idea.I hadn't found it previously, but can see the value in being able to pull up a question or set of questions from any point in the survey, and to pass values into that set of questions from any point in the survey too - not just launch/open the popup.

PROBLEM: Using Survey123 Connect, we have built inspection surveys that are used to inspect plantation areas and generate actions where required. Currently, each type of inspection can cover multiple categories in the one survey (lots of types - e.g. plantation health, roading maintenance, infrastructure). For each cateogry that is inspected, a "Follow-up Action" repeat records recommended actions that should be completed to rectify issues identified. Each of these repeats though is a separate table. This means that it's difficult for Managers to collate the data or review it without further data manipulation/merging of tables. IDEA: We are currently limited to only using a repeat once. Allow for a single or multiple repeats to be used multiple times in a single survey. USE CASE: Different parts of a survey can trigger the need to create a repeat record which currently results in separate repeat tables being used across the survey, A single repeat that can be reused will streamline data capture, analysis and reporting.

Problem: In Survey123, we have use cases where using a select_multiple question, the user checks all relevant categories that we need to detail in the repeat, but currently there's no way to dynamically create a record for each selected value in the repeat - only the total count of selected values. Idea: Include functionality in Survey123 Connect so that a repeat can have records pre-created AND pre-filled from a select_multiple question outside the repeat. For example: Use Case: Enforce rigid data practices so that all required records are captured with no reliance on the user ensuring that they manually add enough repeat records or selected the correct types for each category that needs detailing.

Agreed! Want want want! Integrated email functionality for notification to 1 or more parties with conditional statements, links to the form in Survey123 website or custom built dashboards (experience builder). Power Automate, whilst very capable, is a pain to work with too. Especially with ownership within enterprise systems being restricted.

@JeffShaner dunno why this is now "Closed" instead of "Implemented". Implemented Congratulations! The idea made its way into the software. Implemented ideas cannot receive further votes. Closed Unfortunately, not all ideas are a good fit. These are not being considered at this time and will not be open to further voting. Ideas may be closed for different reasons, and we will do our best to communicate and let the community know why this idea isn’t a good match for our current plans. Thank you for your contribution!
