If including the TPK directly with the survey, the media folder is the appropriate place when publishing from Survey123 Connect. On the device, the Maps folder tis the appropriate location to side-load the TPK.

Hi Robert, It's likely that some factor in interrupted the upload process of the survey (which was also uploading the TPK file) - Andrew Stauffer's comments in https://community.esri.com/thread/56692#comment-275259 outlines a couple of reasons why this might happen. You may want to check with your network IT people to see if they have placed maximum connection times or other limits on the network. An alternative would be to upload the TPK separately (the Share Package GP tool is recommended) as an item in ArcGIS Online and associate it to the survey following the instructions at Prepare basemaps for offline use—Survey123 for ArcGIS | ArcGIS . When you update the TPK, you can notify the field crews and have them download the updated TPK.

Hi Jake, Thanks for reporting this- I was able to verify this behavior and will check to see if a previous version did not exhibit this as you describe. In the meantime, a workaround might be to give the repeat the appearance of 'minimal' - this will prevent the submission of empty forms, though the user will need to click the '+' button to begin collecting the first repeat.

Hi Vladimir, You could give the note that references the image a relevant expression that controls when the note is shown - that way the image could be hidden until a certain question is answered or an specific answer is given.

Survey123's GPS information can come from a variety of external receivers; the requirement is that they feed data to the device's location services provider. The Trimble R1does support this requirement with mobile phones. Pair the R1 to your device and it will provide GPS information to all applications, including Survey123.

As you may know Survey123 for ArcGIS creates its own feature service when creating a survey. This exists in either ArcGIS Online's or your Portal's Hosted Data. From there, the data can be downloaded as a File Geodatabase easily. This makes it possible to import the data into a geodatabase, though this works best as a one-time import. To help synchronize an enterprise geodatabase with an on-going survey, we're introducing a Python Script and ArcGIS Toolbox Tool, available on ArcGIS Online. You may choose to use this as a one-type migration or as part of an ongoing data synchronization routine. This script does the following: Log in to ArcGIS Online and download the survey database If needed, create the tables in the enterprise geodatabase to store the data If applicable, filter out records that have already been synchronized over Copy over the data from the database maintaining attachments and relationships This was authored with ArcGIS Desktop 10.4, but will work with ArcGIS Desktop 10.3 if the pytz python module is installed. Parameters used by the tool The following parameters are needed: SDE Connection File | File Geodatabase: Either a .sde file that connects to the destination database or a File Geodatabase Table Prefix: The tables are created will have the prefix applied before the name of the table (i.e., if the prefix is 's123', a table in the service with the name 'myform' will be imported as 's123myform'). This is to prevent the chance of accidentally overwriting tables of the same name. This needs to be unique per survey. Feature Service URL: the url to the Feature Service endpoint. This is the endpoint for the Service, not an individual layer (i.e., it will end with '/FeatureServer' with no numbers) Time Zone: Dates in ArcGIS Online are stored in UTC time; python processes by default without a time zone. The time zone parameter is needed to calculate the difference. The time zones are specificed in this list. Portal: either 'https://www.arcgis.com' for ArcGIS Online or the Portal's url Username: your username for ArcGIS Online / Portal Password: your password for ArcGIS Online / Portal. If you don't supply it, you'll be prompted by the script after it starts If you run the geoprocessing tool in ArcMap and are already signed into to your ArcGIS organization, the script will use that information instead of the Portal , Username and Password parameters. How to use the script There are three ways to use the script: ArcGIS Script tool: This provides a graphical interface to the tool using ArcGIS Desktop. If you have an enterprise login, first sign into ArcGIS Online or your Portal for ArcGIS, within ArcGIS Desktop. Command line: Invoked with parameters specified. The usage in this case is: python syncSurvey.py <SDE Connection File | File Geodatabase> <Table Prefix> <Feature Service Url> <Time Zone> <Portal> <Username> [Password] Using a config file: The parameters above can be stored in a text file and read by the script, making automated syncronization jobs easier. To run in this mode, use the following syntax: python syncSurvey.py CONFIG <path to config file> <section name> . The config file has the following format: [SECTION_NAME] portal: https://www.arcgis.com username: password: service_url: sde_conn: <The path to a .sde file that connects to the destination DB OR a File GDB> prefix: s123 timezone: US/Pacific

It looks like there was an error not with the link, but with the alert dialog that should appear asking you to confirm navigating to a different page (if this is an unsaved form). In the link, can you add target="_blank" to the link tag (i.e., <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZ0Hh4SdpVc" target="_blank">YouTube</a> )? That should get around that particular error.

You can include a diagram as part of an instructional note. In theory, you might be able to create a grid-like view with the 'horizontal' appearance, but the number of columns is auto-generated (you can't guarantee 3). We haven't implemented it yet, but there is a display option to transform a series of select_one questions into a grid; while that would have something like the appearance, the data would be stored across multiple questions. Another option that we are planning to support in the future would be to have a sketch area that has the option for a default image (like a diagram of the intersection of street corner); that would allow an inspector to draw the location, but that wouldn't be stored as a data column in the database Another suggestion, probably outside of the scope of this conversation, would be to use AppStudio to create a custom question appearance for the select_one question and then build a version Survey123 that uses it.
