First point, so is it recommended to have this box checked all of the time? Would having this box checked avoid the error I got then? I honestly can't remember if I had it checked or not. Sorry Michael, the second point I figured out. I had altered the original as I was having issues with attachments and just changed it to links. I'm not sure that will be an option with this newer model so I may go back to trying attachments and working with you as necessary if for whatever reason they done work. Third, I think this is probably a good thing, I could easily alter this schema slightly if the need arose.

WOW! That model is much more complicated! This also means it works quite differently. Since this has not been updated on the resource center yet I have some questions. First, what does the option to Delete PACP table copies do? Second, I notice the output schema is changed for CCTVConditions and Images or snapshots are no longer there. I am unable to use the url for the photos path in the model parameter as it appears to want a local file path, this wont work in a web map as I'll need the url. Third, what is the PACP XML Geodatabse schema? I presume that creates the CCTVConditions table a certain way and then also eliminates the need to Enable Domains as in the previous version? I may have other questions but I think this will get me started. I keep getting an error that MediaCondID already exists and the model fails. I don't understand why it already exists because I had to deal with the same thing with ArcGIS converting that first field to ObjectID so my model included that too.

Wow, looks like I opened a can of worms on that one. They've released a new version of the CCTV processor that I am going to try out.

The email you should have received that talked about Prerelease being available had a Note in it: Existing ArcGIS 10.1 or 10.2.x authorization numbers will work with ArcGIS 10.3 Prerelease.

Nigel, My understanding is that you don't need new authorization numbers, you just upgrade to 10.3

What is the story with the prerelease? That is not normal protocol with Esri. Are they having issues with getting people to participate in beta? I keep getting emails from Esri trying to get me to try it but I'm just not comfortable with working with a potentially unstable prerelease.

That was my main fear of doing that. I actually checked with my account manager on that extension and wow...too pricey for my blood.

Thanks for your reply. I will get more specific. I'm working with Sewer CCTV and Esri had created a script to use this data but it was having a lot of issues, mostly because it was the first release. They have reworked some things and I haven't got a chance to get back to it yet but hopefully that helps. If not, I may turn to linear referencing. However, I worry that when I rebuild the network that the routes would also be updated, perhaps I am wrong about how this works.

Is there a tool or script out there than can be used to create points along a polyline based on a distance in table?

Isn't there somebody that can help me out there? I had it working just fine but now it fails every time. I even tried using the original PointsAlongLineDistance script and I get an error every time. How can this script just stop working? The data should not be any different. All I really want to do is be able to use the conditions table and create a point feature class using the distances in the table. I can add on the joins later, I just want to be able to create the points based on a distance in a table along a polyline.

Didn't help to rebuild, and I used the Utility Network Analyst Toolbar to show the flow arrows, this time it showed the arrows but all with indeterminate flow (just a dot rather than an arrow). I hit the Set Flow Direction button and nothing happens. I tried hitting the button on the Water Utility Network Editing Toolbar that sets the flow of network based on the digitized direction of the line and it crashes every time. Did you want the model sample?

I just discovered that the Points along a polygon distance tool does not appear to be honoring the upstream/downstream. Everything just goes downstream. What am I doing wrong? I have the geometric network on and I'm going in the direction of the digitized line, every time I try to turn on the arrows using the network tools, arcmap crashes so I cannot confirm whether or not the network is set up correctly.

One additional thing that I think may need some work. When I import the tables from Access (generated by IT Pipes), into a file gdb, the first field such as ConditionID is changed to ObjectID in the file gdb automatically. That appears to be because the field is type AutoNumber in Access. I have to manually create the fields and recalculate them off of the ObjectID in order for the model to work correctly. I may try to model this so it will be easy each time.

Well, I finally worked out the part where it created CCTVConditions with all of the points and the link to the videos but I cannot get the attachments to function correctly. I think I'm still running into the issue with reruns of the model not reworking all of the outputs. I am thinking that it would be easier to just link to the snapshots as I have the videos.
