Service area maps are cool! Generate Service Areas is a ready-to-use service tool accessed from logistics.arcgis.com. The tool is using network data hosted by Esri on arcgis.com. You can learn more about these services here, ArcGIS Network Analysis services.

Hello, The ability to export from ModelBuilder to a Python script was removed from ArcGIS Pro 1.1 because it did not match user expectations to provide a one-to-one export of your model to Python. The scripts generated by exported models were missing nested sub-models, and did not include iterators, feedback loops, and in-line variable substitution. Models with these components would require major changes that most people who use Export are not able to make themselves. There is currently no plan to add this capability back into ArcGIS Pro. ModelBuilder export to Python was often used by those who wanted to learn the Python syntax for a geoprocessing tool, or who wanted a Python script that could execute their existing workflow of geoprocessing tools. Others wanted a Python script so the workflow could be run through Windows Task Scheduler. You can use these alternatives to accomplish these goals: Start by building and saving a model, then create a new Python script file (which is just a text file with .py extension), then using a text editor or Python IDE add lines to the new script to import arcpy, import the toolbox containing your model, and finally run the model. Now when you run the Python script (double click the .py file from Windows explorer, or execute it from Task Scheduler) it is actually running your model. import arcpy arcpy.ImportToolbox(r"c:\pathtotbx\Toolbox.tbx", "mytools") arcpy.MyModel_mytools(r"c:\modelinputs\Data.gdb\InputFeatures") In ArcGIS Pro you can copy the Python syntax for any geoprocessing tool you have run. Go to Project>Geoprocessing History, right-click any tool, and select Copy Python Command to copy the exact Python syntax needed to run the geoprocessing tool with the same parameter settings previously used.

Hi, we need some more details. What is the path to your output? Is it a file, personal, or sde geodatabase? Or a shapefile? Some old versions of file geodatabases are not supported, you would first need to upgrade the gdb by opening the geodatabase general properties and clicking the Upgrade button. You also need at least a Standard ArcGIS for Desktop license, Basic doesn't have geodatabase attachment functionality.

Hello everyone, Can you let us know the software you installed that set the PYTHONHOME variable? I've tested, and just setting that variable alone does not cause ArcGIS Pro to crash, so there must be something more. Thanks

Hi everyone, another thing to try.... Before that, has anyone logged an issue with Esri support? That would be a big help if you haven't done it already. So, please try removing the toolbox "Space Time Pattern Mining Tools.pyt" from the install directory: C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\ArcToolBox\Toolboxes\ You can just move it onto your desktop for safe keeping. Then fire up ArcGIS Pro and see if the crash still occurs when loading the Analysis ribbon. Thanks, Drew

This is interesting...starting in one of the later Pro betas, the default install directory was changed to C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro. Will you check what your install directory is please? Also, there is another pth file at C:\Python34\Lib\site-packages\ArcGISPro.pth, please let us know the contents of this file.

Hi Martin, Can you check your system environment variables for a PYTHONPATH variable and report the value if that key exists? To get to environment variables: 1. hit windows keyboard key + pause key to open System dialog 2. On the left side of the window hit "Advanced system settings" 3. on the bottom of the dialog that opens click "Environment variables..." 3. Look in both the user and system variables for PYTHONPATH

Martin, You mentioned you have Python 3.4 installed -- is this the "Python 3.4.1 for ArcGIS Pro" installation that is described here or an installation you downloaded and installed from python.org?? Thanks, Drew

You can accomplish this by stringing together a few geoprocessing tools. First use Select Layer By Attribute to select all of the business of your desired type. Next you can use the Generate Near Table (Analysis) tool with your house point as input and your selected businesses as the Near Features. Uncheck the option towards the bottom to "Find only closest feature". Now you have the distance from your house to all of the selected businesses. Just look in the table, sorted by NEAR_DIST to see which business is the closest, and you can run Summary Statistics (Analysis) to determine what is the average/MEAN distance. If you want to do this process for your home and many types in your business layer you will need to set up a model to iterate based on unique values in a field. You can search for "Iterate Field Values" in the ModelBuilder documentation to learn more. Good luck! Drew ~Esri
