Can you print out count_pre_append to see if the script is evaluating that variable correctly? Maybe its a misleading error message, so I would put in additional print statements to make sure variables are being evaluated correctly.

The data is being saved to a local drive (e.g c or e-drive) as opposed to OneDrive which might appear like it's saving data locally but it is cloud storage which ESRI does not yet support?

Do you have access to tools that show apps and their dependencies such as web maps and feature services? If not I would recommend such tools help with this effort. GeoJobe has good tools in this area.

Not sure if this is possible for you or not, but maybe spread your work across multiple aprx files instead of using 1 aprx. This is just a suggestion as it might not meet your business needs.

So I exported the problematic SDE roads line feature class to a file gdb and created a service from the file gdb feature class. Now I can use a Dashboard indicator. As such, what could cause the same SDE feature class not to work in a Dashboard indicator?
