Hi Josh: When we put a print statement in before import arcpy we get that to be logged, but then the script just exits. When you clone your python environments, do you use ESRI's interface or do you perform this using Conda command line (A GIS consultant my org works with says that they have encountered issues with ESRI's interface for cloning and now only use Conda command line)?

Has anyone tried to see if anti-virus and/or anti-malware software is the issue based on this documentation? https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/faq-how-do-i-troubleshoot-arcgis-pro-performance-issues-000025378#:~:text=Add%20exclusions%20by%20process%20executable Does anyone see any errors in Event Viewer? Has anyone gotten a simple Pro based python script to work in previous versions (e.g. Pro 2.x)? Just wondering if this functionality broke with Pro 3.x major release.

Josh: At what interval(s) do you need your various GIS scheduled tasks to run at? I ask because tasks that need to get run once a day seem to be fine, but when a task needs to be run multiple times per day (e.g. hourly) that is when the skipping of python scripts occurs.

I would be very cautious with Query layers. Although I do not use the Query layer in this way, as part of testing a patch upgrade I tried to publish a Query layer as a hosted feature layer, but it never worked after trying a dozen times. Once I published a standard feature class as a hosted feature layer, the publishing tests were successful.

AGOL credits for geocoding should only occur with a batch operation on records to be geocoded. Do you have an application that would do this? Have you used AGOL reporting to see if someone mistakenly ran a batch geocoding operation? Do you limit credits to your AGOL users so they would be prevented from accidentally running a large batch geocode operation?

Maybe it something to do with the sharing of the ArcGIS Server service. Just as a test make the service public to see if that allows the service to load into Dashboard indicator. Maybe the field you are using ESRI_OID does not work. Do you have another field that would make sense to make the Statistic based on?

What format are the documents saved in within the database? If it is BLOB format, then how can you easily use these documents in non-ESRI apps where they might also be important? This was a factor in why my org chose not to save documents as attachments as they were not easily available outside of ESRI software. Integration with other enterprise apps is very important.

Just out of curiosity what type of services still need to be published from ArcMap if publishing from ArcGIS Pro was also working?

Is the line layer associated with the parcel polygon layer in the parcel fabric already? I thought rebuild is supposed to move the lines to the polygons and vice versa within the parcel fabric as one of the fabrics built-in topological capabilities.

Josh: Are you sure you need to need to activate the conda environment if you are just using python modules that are packaged with ArcGIS Pro by default? What modifications would need to be done to the script to run on a Linux machine? Did you need to install ArcGIS Pro onto the Linux machine?

I have been running scheduled tasks using Windows Task Scheduler for many years with the ArcMap version of python. Now that my org is migrating to ArcGIS Pro, I am finding that the same bat file is now randomly skipping the ArcGIS Pro python scripts. The bat file runs fine outside of Windows Task Scheduler, so both the python scripts and bat file itself are fine. Sometimes even the first python script in the bat file gets skipped with Windows Task Scheduler, so associating each python script with a bat file will not guarantee success with that setup. Has anyone encountered an issue like this with a similar setup where you call multiple python scripts sequentially so once one python script has finished running the next python script is then executed? Does anyone use a different job schedule software other than Windows Task Scheduler to run GIS jobs? Any help or feedback is greatly appreciated.

Yes it does. I have 3rd party software to cycle thru my org's portal and it does the same thing. It makes us think the webmap is being used when the software is only hitting it like your script does.

If you find unexpected quirkiness with ArcGIS Pro tools, I would close out of the project and re-open as one of the first trouble-shooting steps.
