So this thread talks about getting computers up to spec to run latest version of Pro, where there is a significant amount of pushback from IT management. Not sure if this is a problem for you or not as your computer has much higher specs than the computers at my org, so the geoprocesses you are running on your computer would be even more problematic on my org's computers. How to convince I.T. to buy computers that can han... - Esri Community Would you know if the geoprocess of creating 1 or 2 meter contours in your individual river basins would be as computationally intensive as the processes you are currently performing of DEM filling and flow direction calculations? I would be curious to know how long a contour generation process would take compared to your current processes.

How about running separate geoprocesses simultaneously on separate river basins with different Pro projects open? I would add another basin to start and if that does not crash Pro then add another and monitor how much total RAM is being used as you add more simultaneous geoprocesses. Would that achieve a workaround for true multiprocessing.

Are you just trying to run one geoprocess and it is taking a long time or are you trying to run simultaneous geoprocesses? How much RAM does the computer have where you are running your geoprocess(es)?

How about if you export the data instead of copy the data as that should remove any attribute rules? I had to do this for a data set received from a vendor who had been using attribute rules in their geodatabase.

So are you trying to publish this feature service to an Enterprise Portal or AGOL? I think if it's not a federated service, then the data will just get copied into AGOL and it will be editable from AGOL but it will not have a connection to the original source location as the data has been uploaded (copied) to AGOL.

My org wants to create sites in our Portal similar to an AGOL HUB. What minimum role would a Creator user need to be able to perform this action (e.g. Data Editor, Publisher, Administrator)?

I thought the workflow would be that you would need to overwrite the service with a project that has the layers. That is the workflow that I would use.

Did you delete the layers from the Pro with the field name changes? I'm thinking that the Pro project is still looking for those field names somewhere in the project like ghost field names. If it's not too much work maybe recreate the project and publish and see if those errors persist.

Clay: Would you know if the virtual environment can have lower specs than a physical machine? This is what IT staff have said at my org when we asked for more RAM (32 GB compared to current 16 GB) and I was wondering if this was accurate or not, as the Pro experience has not been optimal thus far with lots of waiting for progress bars far more often than in ArcMap.

Why would this value not be set to 2,000 by default from the service itself, so endusers would not need to worry about changing this value unless the default service value itself does not meet their business needs?

Can you go to Server Manager where the deleted service was published from and look at Site tab and Directories to see where the Output folder is pointing to? Then go that folder and look for a subfolder of arcgisserver\directories\arcgissystem\arcgisinput\ Then navigate to the virtual folder where the service was published to unless it was the root. Then go to "Virtual Folder"\"Published service name".MapServer\extracted\v101 There should be an msd and mxd file here that should be able to recover and republish the service with.

Wondering if Pro has placed a lock on the data from running it in Model Builder and then immediately running it from the geoprocessing pane. Have you tried closing out of Pro and opening Pro again and just try running the process from the geoprocessing pane immediately after opening the Pro project?
