Hi @WilliamGillman, Thanks for taking the time to reach out again. I'm sorry for the confusion, as I misspoke somewhat in my earlier reply. I would have been more correct without the word automatically, instead saying This ensures that no transformation is automatically applied when drawing the data. To expand, the Do not transform option from the transformation path menu specifies that no transformation is applied when drawing the data on a map or a scene, specific to a particular pair of data/map coordinate systems. If you then add data with the same input geographic and/or vertical coordinate system, this new data will also not be transformed to map’s coordinate systems. In this sense, this choice persists until you choose a different transformation. Unfortunately, this is not a generic option, and it is limited to the specified coordinate system pair. I believe what you are asking for is for a setting where no transformation is applied at all, regardless of the coordinate systems. This is not available in ArcGIS Pro at this time, but I will take it back to the team for discussion.

Hello Pete, In ArcGIS Pro, a polygon symbol with an outline is made up of a fill symbol layer and a stroke symbol layer, each with a unique color. Each color can have transparency, so the easy way to do this is to set a transparency on the color used for the fill symbol layer. Edie

Hello Alfred, I'm happy to report that you can already achieve these things. In a few cases, we did design a workflow somewhat differently than how you described your request, but I believe the end result is the same. markers on a line You achieve this by adding a marker symbol layer and then inserting the marker from a gallery of point symbols in styles. Yes, point symbols are different than marker layers, but we do some work behind the scenes to let you pick the point symbol you want, and we then embed it as a complex marker, purposely to meet this exact use case. Format line symbol pane > structure tab > add marker layer to line Layers tab > Appearance heading > Insert shape from Style. Opens a gallery of full point symbols that can be embedded as though a complex marker symbol Marker symbol layers—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Using an existing line as a leader line When you are setting the leader line properties, we give you a mini gallery of simple lines to chose from, but if you want something specific, just open the full gallery: Label class pane > Callout > Simple line callout Leader line symbol > More line symbols. Opens a gallery of lines that can be applied as the leader line. Applying a symbol layer from an existing symbol to a different symbol This is a bit different than how you are thinking about it. In your example, you have a stroke and a fill layer in a symbol. What we added in the ArcGIS Pro 3.1 release is the ability to grab one or more symbol layers (of any type-- marker, stroke, fill) from a symbol in a style and add them to the current symbol. So it's not choosing a different symbol for the solid stroke in your example. It would be adding a new stroke symbol layer to that symbol. In this case, you'd probably delete the first stroke layer. Format Symbol pane > Properties tab> Structure tab Layers heading > Add symbol layer > Import layers from a symbol Pick a symbol from the gallery. Change the symbol type at the top of the dialog box if necessary. See Symbol structure—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation I hope that this addresses the things you're trying to accomplish. Edie

We are adding an option to choose Do not transform from the Transformation path menu. This ensures that no transformation is automatically applied when drawing the data. This choice will be persisted until you choose a different transformation.

Hi Maria, this idea is categorized under ArcGIS Pro, but I want to confirm that you need the symbols for ArcMap? We can create new ArcGIS Pro symbols, but they will not work in ArcMap.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately sometimes horizontal real estate is just as scarce as vertical real estate in the Contents pane. Do you think having some sort of "hover" for the symbol preview would work for this instead? In that mode you wouldn't be able to see all symbols at once, but you could compress the layers and just hover to see some symbols. Let me know if you think that would be a sufficient improvement.

Hi Jacob, Esri does not have a repository of ArcMap (*.style) files. Many organizations make theirs available on their sites though. A web search may unearth some for you. There are a number of styles installed with ArcMap that might make good starting points. Take a look at Conservation, Environmental, Forestry for starters. You can also create your own symbols using font glyphs. Edie
