This idea was submitted on behalf of a customer. Following on from Bernie Szukalski's blog post, it is clear that Story Maps are being used more and more for presentations, in particular the Story Map Series and Story Map Cascade templates. A nice enhancement would be the support of the use of presentation remote/clickers to scroll between different sections in a Story Map. So when you click next on the presentation remote/clicker, the presentation moves onto the next section (Story Map Series below): In a Story Map Cascade, the presentation remote/clicker actually scrolls the page. However it mimics the Page Up/Page Down buttons on a keyboard. This leads to quite a jagged presentation (try it yourself)! Perhaps something could be done to control this a little. I'm not sure whether this is possible technically, but if it is, it would be a nice enhancement!

It would be great if the Workforce Dispatcher app would honour the locator/feature searches specified in it's associated webmap. At the moment it appears as though the highest ranked organisation geocoder is used for the search. I would like to be able to search a feature service layer which would contain the names of customers along with their locations. This can be done at the moment but requires ArcGIS for Server (as a locator has to be setup).

Just a quick note to say that as of the September 2016 release, related records can be added via the Web AppBuilder Edit widget. Not exactly what this idea proposed but definitely a significant milestone.

Ah I see you shared this already in the thread above - I didn't notice it. I was thinking more along the lines of using it in an app like Crowdsource Manager or Geoform where you didn't want users to see records added by other users. The limit usage part of this as you have come across causes problems with printing.

I think this documentation should give you the functionality you want. It details how to limit access to public ArcGIS Online layers!

In the submission message of the Crowdsource Reporter template, it would be great if you could reference the OBJECTID so that users would have a unique reference ID for their submission. That way they have a reference to their submission if they need it at a later stage. An example use case would be where a local authority wants to give an option for users to submit their contact details. They can't store this in the feature service as it will be public so they want to be able to provide an email address to send on their details if they choose to do so. Furthermore, if you could reference this in an email hyperlink it would be ideal. Something like this: <a href="mailto:myemail@email.com?Subject=Crowsource%20Application%20Submission%20${OBJECTID}" target="_top">myemail@email.com</a>

Webinar Q&A Custom widget using a geo-processing tool published as a service? I'm not sure what this was in relation to. Documentation relation to the Geoprocessing widget is available here. You are able to use custom geoprocessing services with this widget as necessary. Is there a geocoder rest service for GeoDirectory currently available for use? Yes. Esri Ireland have an ArcGIS Locator configured for GeoDirectory. This Locator can be published as a RESTful web service. The Locator is only available via a Professional Services installation project. The end user must have an existing licence with GeoDirectory. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for more details. For an Intranet app, do you register webapp builder running from your web server within DMZ (with web adaptor) or from your GIS server? For an intranet app, ideally you should use Portal for ArcGIS, which is essentially an internal only version ArcGIS Online. In this case you can use the Web AppBuilder embedded edition to build your App and deploy to your Portal. However you may also build a webmap that references services from either your web adaptor end point or your internal server end point and use that webmap in an application built using Web AppBuilder. IN a case where the internal server end points are used the app will only be useable on your intranet. Can you please email the slides URL address (azurewebsites…)? All links provided in email above. Does Location widget convert IG to ITM accurately? Yes. For highest precision you need to use the NTv2 transformation available with the 10.3.1 install (or from Esri Ireland) and install same correctly on your ArcGIS for Server instance. Will the last section with the cmd etc be available as a youtube video? The command I was using/trying to use was "echo %COMPUTERNAME%.%USERDNSDOMAIN%". However I had a typo in the command so just got it from the running application. Please see links in email above for the YouTube video. The additional video goes through registering the Developer Edition, as well as adding custom widgets so that would probably be the best place to start. Can navigation widget provide voice enabled directions within app? The Directions widget does not provide voice enabled directions within the app. However, the new Navigator for ArcGIS app does so that might be worth looking at. The co-ordinates on lower left, is it possible to have this in terms of some co-ordinate system like ITM? It can indeed. Check out the documentation for the Coordinate widget here. By default, coordinates are displayed in current map’s coordinate system. To get coordinates in other coordinate systems, you need to add them and specify appropriate transformations as necessary. For the chart widget can you import a polygon from shp? The documentation for the Chart widget is available here. You would need to publish the shapefile to ArcGIS Online as a feature layer and configure the Chart widget appropriately. How do you load in your web map if using the developer edition? The same 'builder' available in ArcGIS Online comes with the Web AppBuilder Developer Edition. From the builder you can select any webmaps accessible from the account used to register the Developer Edition of Web AppBuilder. Can I link to a few pdfs within web app builder? Not from a feature layer but from the application via a selection from a widget? I'm not sure what you mean by this. Where would the pdf links come from? If you email me back with further details I can look into this. Where is the draw data stored when you select "add as operational layers"? The draw data is stored in temporary storage. This allows you to use the input points/lines/polygons within other widgets. Once the page is refreshed the data is deleted. Hi, which widgets consume credits? So far you mentioned Analysis widget, any other? I'm just after going through the Web AppBuilder widgets there. If you read the documentation for any widgets you intend on using, you can see what ones use credits. From my understanding, the following widgets can consume credits: Analysis widget Directions widget Geoprocessing widget Note there is an option to 'Show credits' that will be used within the Analysis widget. Do all the widgets work with IE 9? We have had some performance issues with WAB in IE9. Judging by browser support in the documentation, Internet Explorer 8+ is supported. I haven't encountered any problems, but I wouldn't be an IE9 user. If you are encountering problems I would recommend you get in touch with support to try and resolve. How do I define groups? For example I want some people in my organisation and some third parties to view the map. How do I control this? Groups are defined within your ArcGIS Online account. Guidelines on how to create them are available here. Each member of the group must have an ArcGIS Online user account. If you need users from outside of your organisation to join the group, you would designate it as 'Public' so those users could search for and find the group. Will you be able to show how to change the text colour in the links option...in the older app was white, the latest tabbed app is purple...how to you change it to white? You can embed some HTML with inline styling in order to overwrite the colour. Something like this should do the trick: <div style="color:#FFFFFF !important;">LinkName</div> instead of just putting in LinkName. How I can download the app we just created? How can I take a copy of an app created by another user and edit it? You can't copy an app created by another user unless you have their credentials. You can then use ArcGIS Online Assistant to copy the application to your account. However, if the webmap and its layers are public you can 'Save As' the webmap to your account. Then configure the same web application from your account. How accurate is the elevation widget really for Irish locations? What is it based on? To be honest, I haven't tested how accurate it is. But I think it gives you a good indication of the elevation of an area. There is no Esri elevation widget available for Web AppBuilder (although there is an open source one available). There is, however, an Elevation Profile template app, the code of which is open source and available on GitHub. This uses the Profile Task to create profiles along input lines from which a profile graph can be created. Further details on the geoprocessing service used for this is available here.

Unfortunately we are missing the first 2/3 minutes of the video. Here is the website that Eamonn based his presentation on. Detailed AppStudio for ArcGIS documentation is available here. Some further information detailed below: Demonstration App ready to download The FixMeQuick app that we built during the webinar and its accompanying Landing Page is now available here. The Landing Page and website for the app include links to downloadable executables for each of the platforms we compiled for. Please Note: You download and install these executables at your own risk. For some Operating Systems you may need to alter your security settings to enable installation on your system. If you wish to download and install on iOS please supply us with the UUID of your iOS device. We will add these UUID’s to our provisioning profile and re-release the iOS version of the app. AppStudio for ArcGIS OTA (Over-the-Air) App Esri have provided an app that uses the Over-the-Air install procedure. This enables you and up to 100 others install natively on their devices wirelessly. You can access the AppStudio for ArcGIS OTA app through any browser by visiting the following link. To install, simply open the link on your device's native browser (i.e. Chrome or Safari) and follow the on screen instructions - you will be prompted to "Add to Home Screen". The app will subsequently appear on your Home Screen like any other app. You can use the AppStudio for ArcGIS OTA app to browse, install and share your installable apps. AppStudio Player AppStudio Player is a companion app to AppStudio for ArcGIS. You can download AppStudio Player from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. A desktop version of AppStudio Player is also available and can be downloaded here. Any apps created in AppStudio for ArcGIS on any platform can be used on any platform with AppStudio Player. Player is a convenient “sandbox” environment in which you can run your AppStudio apps on any device without having to do a native install. You might consider this route if, for example, you have a large user base in your organisation that needs access to your app but you don’t want to distribute the app via the relevant app store.

Webinar Q&A What about offline data collection and the offline maps? None of the current AppStudio for ArcGIS templates have offline data collection or offline maps capabilities. However the underlying ArcGIS Runtime SDK 10.2.5 for Qt. This SDK does support offline capabilities. This means that it is possible for you to build your own custom app using AppStudio to support offline use. Will this app studio work with Windows Tablets based on v8.1? Support for Windows smartphones/tablets is not available in the current beta version of AppStudio - it is limited to iOS and Android devices at the moment. Support for Windows devices is expected in the Q2 2016 release. Whether this will support v8.1 is not yet know, but support will begin with v10. Do the feature services that AppStudio uses have to be hosted on ArcGIS Online? Feature services that AppStudio uses have to be registered in ArcGIS Online and shared publically, but may be hosted on ArcGIS for Server. Is there an android equivalent to the OTA app? The OTA app is available through any browser, so can be accessed on any device. When you visit the website, you have the option to add the website to your home screen. This then acts as an app on your phone. This is setup the same on Android and iOS. The application is not currently available through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Will app studio work against ArcGIS Portal registered services or would they still need to be registered in ArcGIS online? When you are selecting services to use, you are shown services from your ArcGIS Online account. So yes, they would still need to be registered in ArcGIS Online. I created an app from an existing Story Map but the various slides appeared in a different sequence from those on the story map. As it is a walking tour they need to follow a particular order. Any ideas? I haven't encountered this. If you could send on a link to your story map I could try to replication it here, and try resolve the problem. Bear in mind that the application is still in beta so there may be some issues. Must services be published publicly to AGOL or can the apps consume from Server? Feature Layers & Feature Services that AppStudio uses have to be registered in ArcGIS Online and shared publically, but may be hosted on ArcGIS for Server. Can you explain a bit more about ArcGIS for Developers and requirement for this in relation to AppStudio? With an ArcGIS Online account, you have an entitlement to an ArcGIS for Developers account. You can use your ArcGIS Online credentials to login from this page. If you have created an AppStudio application it will be viewable in the application page. Once you click into the application, you click the REGISTER APPLICATION button and get the Client ID used to identify the application within the platform. This is the ID you use in AppStudio for ArcGIS. For applications that require Geocoding, Routing and Edit and Sync functionality, an ArcGIS Runtime Standard licence will be required. Further details here. If your app uses geoprocessing services hosted in your organisational account does that mean your org credits will be consumed by users? Yes - geoprocessing services hosted in your organisation's account would consume some of your organisation's credits.
