Technically, once I generate this image file, I can go into Adobe Illustrator and generate a sphere object and then wrap this image around. But rather than the plain, boring maps, I thought it would be cool to have polygons that mattered to my subject matter show up on this wrap. Then I could play a little with the data and have a cool end-image.

Wouldn't I just alter the projection of my map to the Kavraiskiy VII to get the print out I want?

I was watching a tutorial in a related topic and they utilized the following image. I am wondering, can I generate an image of the earth in this format (flattened out) from an MXD? If I grabbed data from multiple sources (let's say polygons for example) and brought in a world map (basemap or otherwise), could I then export an image file (pdf, gif, jpg, png, etc) from that output?

Allison, Sadly, Geonet doesn't allow users to Private Message someone that has not added them as a friend. I would be interested in using this tool as I still get glitches when I re-path the other way. Thank you.

This document is intended to include any necessary clipart related to ArcMap. If you feel anything is missing, please let me know. ArcMap Icon Set Individual Pieces Feature Dataset Feature Class Relationship Class Feature Class Points Feature Class Lines Feature Class Polygons Topology Terrain Network Dataset Parcel Fabric Geometric Network These are all free to use. It's not a requirement but if you use any of these pieces in a publicly available document I would love a share. If acceptable I could include a link from here to your usage so others can see how it is being used.

Robert, 1. Sadly, as the GIS person I don't always own the data. As things stand, this is police data. I have zero control over it. The only people WITH control are not GIS-empowered and could care less. But I get it. Makes sense. I'll try to show how my OTHER maps look great while theirs has these non-human-readable entries because of a lack of domains and GIS-friendly data structure. 2. I totally get that. Makes sense. HOWEVER... I do think that a Field Calculator widget would be very nice to have. For those developers with more GIS background than Web. Thanks for the response man. Love your products as always...

Feature Request Name : Value When entering list values (for the predefined expression values) it would be wonderful to be able to craft them for the GUI as well as the backend. Instead of just entering the value to search by, I would like to enter a "label" (if you will) AND a value. Then, when the database has an entry that is an acronym (like LOL) then I could enter a "Name" (or label) of "Laugh Out Loud" and have the value be "LOL" to make options simpler for the end users. Straight SQL : Field Value (Field Calculator) For those of us with a deeper understanding it would be AWESOME to be able to have a FIELD search. Where we pick a column from the REST Service, and the GUI pops up a FIELD with that name. Then be able to EDIT the section listed as "SQL STATEMENT" in most of the Expression Values. Then we could craft a SQL statement (like in Field Calculator) and present the user with our FIELD and some label text telling them what to enter and whatever they enter in that field is used in our customized SQL statement. While we're on this road... give us MULTIPLE fields... so we can construct some sweet queries and have the user pass on the values through their entries.

Unfortunately no. This is for basic (non-GIS trained) officers to use for analysis. Technically, I'm replacing an ancient, custom-coded, javascript web map from like 7-8 years ago. So if it worked before WAB then I'm dumbfounded on why WAB is hitting these timeouts.

Robert Scheitlin, GISP I'm trying to use this on a REST service that contains roughly 1 million records (police arrests) and I'm getting a massive lag with timeouts. Is there something I can do to minimize or remove these issues?

Up until an hour, or so, ago I would have bet you real money that there was an HOA layer in the LGM. However, after being asked what GDB to put our HOA layers into I opened the LGM and searched... and searched... and searched... and nothing. Is anyone else using HOA's in the LGM? If so, where?

I'll tell you why, Robert Scheitlin, GISP... it's because the field LOOKS like it is supposed to have something put in there. I've been doing this exact thing. Until today. What I would recommend is in the part of the Widget where you wrote "Such as NAME like 'Roberts'" that you instead put 'Treat This Like A Definition Expression In An MXD' or something similar. I figured it out today, and just stumbled across this post today. Love the widget... still having issues creating that custom search like I want, but I'm digging...

Do us a favor. After removing all sensitive information (usernames / passwords) can you post the contents of the following: Files wwwroot/path/to/your/proxy/proxy.config A simple list of each serverUrl entries would be perfect. Again, please remove all sensitive information. You don't want to hand out free access to your server. wwwroot/path/to/your/webmap/config.json It should be line 260-ish. The section/JSON Object labelled "httpProxy" and technically, just the "rules" you are using. I don't use the "url" anymore and everything works. App The app should be registered following the template that Robert outlined above, but just for clarification purposes, make sure that your app follows this general layout in the registration process: URL points to your internal server. API used is JavaScript App Type is "browser" Purpose is "Configurable" Redirect URI also points to your internal server. Share the files information and double-check your App details and let's see if we can get you configured and back to making more maps!

Granted, looking back... this means you have no editing capabilities with any applications / webmaps you build off of this system. But... it gives you a viewer / portal to see your data. Unless you setup a backwards model to configure your edits back into your original... Anyway... Model Builder and the LGM... should be your best friends.
