Agreed. For example, when I am creating a new feature class and appending features to it one at a time from multiple other feature classes, I'd like to be able to specify a string that indicates the source and store it in a target field for all appended features.

When you add a LAS dataset to your TOC, and symbolize by elevation, the elevation range is set to the min and max of the dataset. If you zoom in on a specific area of the dataset, you can right-click on the LAS dataset in the TOC and select "Reset Legend Elevation Range" to reset the range based on the display extent. I do this and the map display changes as expected. However, the min and max values displayed with the color ramp in the symbology do not change. Is this expected behavior? I would expect the user should know the new elevation range min/max values that are used in the map display.

On the Georeferencing ribbon, can we get an option label control points with the Link ID? Once you've created several control points, you have to click through the Control Points table, selecting rows, to find out which point on the map is which row in the table. Labelling the control points on the map would help in adjusting the georeferencing by deciding which CPs to turn on/off.

It looks like a "duplicate" layer function is coming in March 2022 update. Rejoice!

Does ArcGIS Pro have a setting for edge rendering in 3D? I'm looking at this blog post: https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/story-maps/3d-gis/using-3d-data-to-understand-hurricane-patterns/ I see it is available in the AGOL Scene Viewer to choose between solid and sketch lines. So far the closest I can find is a Mesh symbol for a color with edges in the ArcGIS 3D symbol style. It looks like it is just including a stroke symbol for a multipatch layer.

Yup, that's what I did as per the video. It seems that when you create a new feature layer in AGOL, the map extent gets set to the world. I used Map Viewer Classic to digitize a polygon around a small US town. When I use that as the processing extent for the analysis, it quotes 300,000+ credits (I just replicated again now). Also, after digitizing the polygon, if you Zoom to Layer, the map zooms to the world - confirms that the extent isn't set how we want it.

I did try this as well. I created a new polygon hosted feature layer from the Contents page, then digitized a polygon in ArcGIS Online. But when I used it, it seems that the extent of that layer was much larger than the polygon (the analysis was going to require 300,000+ credits!). I guess if I created a polygon feature class in ArcGIS Pro, it would modify the layer extent to just the polygon, and then I could share it to ArcGIS Online for use as a processing extent layer.

I replicated this process, except I used "Use current map extent" instead of a polygon layer, and running the model just returns an error: DetectObjectsUsingDeepLearning failed. 'dict' object has no attribute 'find'.

I have the same issue. I wanted to try recreating some of my dashboard charts in Experience Builder (Online), but they are time series charts using 'Features' (rows in a hosted table) and it seems the date field is not allowed.

How do you do this in python? That is, make the metadata of the TOC layer writeable. The map metadata is read-only, the layer metadata is read-only, and the feature class metadata is not. I am trying to create a new metadata object, push it into the layer's metadata, and then publish it to ArcGIS Online with that metadata intact. I don't want to attach the metadata to the feature class in the gdb, because I have different layers with the same data source, but each with different metadata, to be published as AGOL hosted feature layers. I see where to do this in the Pro interface, as you indicate, but cannot find a reference on how to do it in python/arcpy.
