I’m starting over with a clean measure tool. Just to rule out any miscellaneous changes that might have been made. ~ Nick

Ok… so when I go to the location you mentioned below… The conversion factor are in the client\stemapp\widgets\Measure\setting\Setting.js file and then when you are done setting up the widget in WAB those conversion factors are saved in the widget config.json like I mentioned in my previous post. and I change the numbers for the conversion nothing changes in the widget. However, when I go to WAB_Java\server\apps\4\widgets\Measure\setting\Setting.js<file:/// WAB_Java\server\apps\4\widgets\Measure\setting\Setting.js> and change the numbers then they do change in the configuration. When I go to the config that you said the calculations are being made… When you save your project you should see a \server\apps\xx\configs\Measure folder and in that folder one file should be present config_x.json (where x is the label of the measure widget). Do you see this folder and file? All it shows me are the units that I chose to use in the application. I don’t see anyway to change the conversion…or recalculate the units correclty. I feel like I have to be missing something really simple here…it shouldn’t be as hard as it seems. ~ Nick

I added the measure folder to the \\WAB_Java\client\stemapp\widgets. After I added the tool to the WAB and added the tool to my site. I saved. Then I went to the \\WAB_Java\server\apps\4\widgets\Measure directory and below is what I saw.

Another question. I noticed that the setting.js call the jimuUtils. I found this file and noticed that the mo.standardizeWkid was set to WebMercatur. Should I add the WKID for our projection into this file? mo.standardizeWkid = function(wkid) { return this.isWebMercator(wkid) ? 3857 : parseInt(wkid, 10); ~ Nick

I don’t see a config_Measure.json. Would the config.json be the same? Also when I open the folder it lists the distance and area units and that is it. { "distanceUnits": [{ "unit": "MILES", "abbr": "mi" }, { "unit": "FEET", "abbr": "ft" }, { "unit": "KILOMETERS", "abbr": "km" }, { "unit": "METERS", "abbr": "m" }, { "unit": "YARDS", "abbr": "yd" }], "areaUnits": [{ "unit": "SQUARE_MILES", "abbr": "sq mi" }, { "unit": "ACRES", "abbr": "ac" }, { "unit": "SQUARE_KILOMETERS", "abbr": "sq km" }, { "unit": "HECTARES", "abbr": "ha" }, { "unit": "SQUARE_METERS", "abbr": "sq m" }, { "unit": "SQUARE_FEET", "abbr": "sq ft" }, { "unit": "SQUARE_YARDS", "abbr": "sq yd" }] } ~ Nick

So I was modifying the wrong setting.js file. Now that I'm editing the one in my application folder in the builder I was able to change the conversion numbers that appear in the widget configuration in the WAB but.... the changes do not change the actual measurements in the application. I select feet and they are still 3.2808 times the actual feet.

Tom, This is a great widget. It isn't overly complicated and it gives the results I was looking for. I do have a problem and I have been unable to fix it. It appears that this was built to be used with a projection that used meters as opposed to feet. We generally use State Plane feet so all of the measurements are of by the conversion factor of 3.2808 with the exception of the meters, which is correct due to the conversion factor of 1. Basically a house that is 30X30 measures over 90X90. I tried going into the Setting.js and changing the conversion numbers with no success. Thoughts?

I think the UI is ok… you may just want to tweak the instructions slightly. I understand the UI better now after you explaining that. Maybe I missed it in the instructions as well. ~ Nick

Robert, Once again you fixed what ESRI missed. Great Job! I do have a couple questions. I think I placed the widget in the correct location for the JAVA App builder since is showed up...\\arcgis-web-appbuilder-1.0\client\stemapp\widgets. My second problem is with configuring the Tools. I was able to work through the documentation to add a search and place the parameters. When I'm done I see the following in the SQL Expressions Values... Upper(Name) LIKE Upper('%[value]%'). This is the same SQL Statement as I find in my flex websites using your esearch widget. However, this one is giving me an error after I save the widget and test the site. Here is the error message... Search Failed! Any thoughts? Thanks, Nick

Hello, Were you ever able to find any answers to this question. I have the same problem. The image displays in the new window and has full functionality for a couple seconds then displays the error message that you have attached in the original post. Thanks, Nick I have found the solution to this problem. It appears that in addition to turning on the Google Street View API you also need to turn on the Google Maps API v3. Once I did this I stopped getting the error message.
