ArcGIS Mobile has this problem also. What happens to fields that don't allow null? I know with Mobile 10.1.1 if it's a field with a domain then you will have to choose a value, but if it's free text you don't appear to need to enter anything (bug?). It's not clear what Collector is doing. A few more bugs/issues while we're at it. * User tracking still appears as an option when adding a point on my collector - I've added it to the web map and now it appears when I go to add a new point. * Photo rotation - attachments. We're actually testing Collector on iPads - x2 and Collector will only work in portrait. If you take a photo turn your ipad sideways your photo comes through looking ok in collector but is rotated back in arcgis.com. We're generally enjoying the experience using it here though. Shame it can't work more offline 🙂 Peter

I have a field with a coded domain with "High, Medium and Low". I apply symbology in my MXD and they appear as High Low and Medium (alphabetically) and I change it to High Medium and Low. Then in collector they appear as Low High and Medium??! I can never get consistent sorting out of it. In ArcGIS Mobile it's always alphabetical and I add 1,2,3 on the front to force it... but with Collector this makes no difference.

Aww damnit, stuck on another step. You have to package the feature service in project center if you're going to use them, and it looks like this part of project center is not set up to use firewall proxy servers... even though everything else is. See attached picture. Should I report this one through ESRI Oz? [ATTACH=CONFIG]21663[/ATTACH]

Not just an expert on image server Gordon? 🙂 That worked. I was getting a little confused on the terminology. I thought Portal was something you hosted yourself... not an arcgis.com subscription. Peter

I'm looking at moving one of our mobile services to a feature service on our AGOL Organisation account and I've published the feature out there (with attachments). Now I can' seem to connect to the account from the Project Manager (PM). I may have initially used an old account but now with the new login all the PM does when I go load feature service it asks me for a login over and over again. I know the login works with our AGOL Organisation. Initially I'm think maybe it's our proxy firewall. But I'm able to use Mobile services from our external arcgis servers. Any ideas?

Done. Note that this map is using a feature service published by our external ArcGIS Server. That shouldn't make a difference though, should it. And I have seen it work on another Android, it's just the schema defaulting on a HTC that might be the problem. The ability to login to AGO in your next version of collector would be a workaround I guess.

The schema link arcgis-collect://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items/{mapid}/data {mapid} working map from AGO. is supposed to open Collector on my Android HTC, but it initially took to me a choice of either the ArcGIS app or web browser. So I then uninstalled ArcGIS and it's now only going to the web browser. Uninstalled and reinstalled the Collector a few times and it doesn't fix it. I've seen it work properly on a workmate's Android, but why the HTC isn't happy I don't know. I've tried clearing defaults on the web browser and mail and it doesn't fix the problem. The workmates phone is a Samsung with Cyanogen mod and mine a HTC Incredible ICS.

Installed 4.5 framework. Clicked on Install link and it progresses a little way before: Application installation did not succeed. Cannot locate application files on the server. Details gives me the log. System.Deployment.Application.DeploymentDownloadException (Unknown subtype) - Downloading http://static.arcgis.com/opsdashboard/ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Toolkit.DataSources.dll.deploy did not succeed. I'm suspecting download rules re dlls within our firewall. Is there going to be an option for a offline install? (maybe zipped or even msi?)

I've got a dataset sitting on a SL2008R2 ArcGIS 10.0 and while it works without attachments - ie. it uploads data with no trouble from Mobile 3.1 Trimble Nomad, soon as I add attachments and redownload the project to the Trimble it fails on upload. Server side errors below - something about lower level component error. On the Trimble end the error is "unknown". I'm only taking one photo at 1600 resolution. [ATTACH=CONFIG]20720[/ATTACH] Any ideas? Is it because it's ArcGIS 10.0 on SDE? The ArcGIS Server is 10.1 sp1.

I'm using the sample with the IdentityManager to connect to a secure FeatureService which is all working well, but what's the best way to obtain the UserID to prefill a userid field? I can't seem to work out an easy way. Things like getEditInfo and getEditSummary seem to pull the data on who's editing. But I want to prefill before editing is applied. I am using 10.1 and 3.2.

Well I'm only after statistics so I can symbolise using Classified symbology (trying to map areas 0.5m, etc. or below from a DEM). Initially I've tried the 10.1 Raster Properties tool and it changes the ranges as you say, but it's still not letting me use Classified symbology. I'll try the other approaches you talk about.

I've got 70+ mosaic datasets of DEM which all have "valid" statistics built. When I put them in an overarching mosaic the statistics are no longer available. Building statistics doesn't appear to be working on the over-arching mosaic. Building them ran for a week before the machine got a rebooted... 😞 I'm not that interested in building one large mosaic dataset to point to all the raw data... ~7TB. I'm also applying a function to calculate storm tide data off the DEM. Anyone had luck with building stats on mosaics of mosaics?

Just installed a 4 machine site with separate iis web adaptor with AD security at the GIS tier and it appears to be working. Was going to use the web tier till I saw Patrick Foppe's post. Am having issues publishing a routing geoprocess though... which I've spent weeks with our local support trying to sort. Which is going to be next post. :-<

I'm not trying to change the structure of the service or upload new. I'm trying to change the underlying data. e.g. I've got a polygons which has firewarden boundaries and their phone numbers. Sometimes the boundaries change, sometimes the phone numbers change. I'd like to update this automatically. Not having to destroy the service and recreate... Though I guess you could do that. Are "Maps" adjustable in python api? Can I remove the old service and add the new to a map?
