Hi Rene, I am not sure how exactly GoDaddy works, but this is how I host my web applications. I take all of the associated files (like the html, javascript, css, folders, etc) and put them in a folder that is on the web (for me, this is either a GitHub location or Google Drive, or something similar that is publicly accessible). Then, I just link to the folder that contains the index.html file. This becomes the link for my web app. I found maybe better written instructions of this on the Shortlist Story App install section from the PDF: shortlist-storytelling-template-js/Readme.pdf at master · Esri/shortlist-storytelling-template-js · GitHub When you copy the contents of the Shortlist application template zip file into a folder on your website or web server, the location of the application template's Index.html file defines the URL that will be used to access your shortlist. For example if your website is using a web server like Internet Information Services(IIS) you can create a folder in its root file structure (C:\inetpub\wwwroot) and copy the contents of the application template zip file into it. So if you created a folder called: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\shortlist and your website's domain is http://www.example.com then the URL of your shortlist will be: http://www.example.com/shortlist I am not completely sure what you mean about creating a template from this but here is some documentation that might help with that: Create app templates—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS

Hi Randy, Can you tell if the legend is refreshing itself? Can you force it to refresh? Also, maybe pan the map back and forth to hopefully refresh the active view.

Jeremy, I would think that it would reproject on the fly since you are likely going to be loading the data together into ArcMap and then publishing it to AGOL in order to use it in collector. Most of my web maps I make are in a local, custom coordinate system. When I publish these maps/layers to AGOL, they come in just fine with AGOL's built-in basemaps (which are all in WGS84 Web Mercator, like your TPK).

Mike, Sure, you will want to add a graphics layer to your map. This doesn't create a feature or anything, it's just a graphic. Add and modify graphics and text—Layouts | ArcGIS for Desktop You can also just add a text element to your map as well: Add text to a map—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS for Desktop

Hi Jeff, For starters, is it safe to assume that when you initially published your service, you allowed for Feature Access? https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/share-maps/publish-features.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_94021BE7D875474681DAD20D05A90AF6 and see number 7. (I believe you will want to check the box for "Query" as well). Also, in the properties of the feature service in ArcGIS Online, have you configured your feature search to allow searching the feature service based on an attribute? Configure feature search—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS I would think with all of the taken care of, then you should be able to see more results in your configured search in your basic viewer map. At least, I hope so.

Michael, This is an interesting question and interesting search. Is your colleague heading to the Esri UC in San Diego later this month? That would be a good start to find San Diego-based GIS users in Public Safety. Other than heading to user group meetings (especially local ones in those cities/areas), I feel that it would be hard to find these specific groups of people. The GeoNet is a good place to ask though. Maybe you could find local contacts to local GIS user groups in San Diego, NYC, and Baltimore and reach out from there. I only presume cities as big as these would have 'local' user groups. There are very few user group communities on the GeoNet. Tagging: San Diego County Regional GIS Users Group and DC GIS This looks to be a website of an NYC GIS group: GISMO….a GIS hotspot – a GIS hotspot Here is potentially another one: http://www.meetup.com/geonyc/ This might be your best bet for San Diego: San Diego Regional GIS Council And for Baltimore, this should work: Baltimore Region GIS Committee - Baltimore Metropolitan Council

Hi Nav, Take a look at this link: Creating Data Driven Pages—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop Scroll down to the section about data driven scale: When using point features, if you want to use only one map scale for each page, choose the Center and Maintain Current Scale option. Then, after exiting the Setup Data Driven Pages dialog box, set the scale of the Detail Data Frame to the scale you want. If you want different scales for different point features, you need to use a field containing these values and select Data Driven Scale on the Extent tab and choose this field. You cannot use a layer from another data frame, another map document, or a stand-alone layer file (.lyr) as an index layer. The index layer must be a feature layer. You cannot use raster-based layers as the index layer. I hope this segment is useful. Well... maybe scroll down further: Data Driven Scale By choosing the Data Driven Scale option, the map scale of the detail data frame for each page in the Data Driven Pages series is data driven. Use the drop-down list to select an appropriate field containing the data you want to use to determine scale. The drop-down list is filtered to display applicable field types. These include short integer, long integer, float, and double. When you specify a Data Driven Scale field, values from this field define the map scale of the detail data frame for each page in the Data Driven Pages series. If a value is null, Data Driven Pages uses the scale value of the previous page. Any fixed scale or a fixed extent associated with the detail data frame is ignored when Data Driven Pages are enabled. There are other helpful resources in the document regarding scale, etc.

I have ...sort of... tried that but figured I wouldn't get far since I cannot make a connection to the server itself Steps: In the Catalog tree, expand the GIS Servers node. Double-click Add ArcGIS Server. Choose Administer GIS server and click Next. For the Server URL, type the URL of the ArcGIS Server site you want to connect to, for example, http://gisserver.domain.com:6080/arcgis. If you need help constructing this URL, seeComponents of ArcGIS URLs. I am guessing if I put that URL in (with my info) that it would not connect since the server is on a local PC that is on a network (not on an actual server - which may be my inherent issue).
