Yochai, It is not just that link or your machine, it looks like the whole http://video.esri.com/ site might be down right now. It's returning an error for me "NetworkError: 500 Internal Server Error - http://video.esri.com/" I would try again later, or maybe tomorrow. I'm not sure who should be emailed about it, but maybe Timothy Hales knows and can let the appropriate staff know?

JSON, I looked back at the notes for my tech support issue, and it's a little different, but I'll list what I initially reported (in pre-release) and my final. I'm not sure that I ever totally resolved it, but I was able to work around MY issue. I haven't been working with caching in 10.3 for the past couple months (other priorities) but will be again next week. I'll be able to see if I'm still having issues at that point. My initial tech support comment: I'm attempting to test out several AGS 10.3 caching items related items, I will like both in this request, however the second my be a separate incident. First issues: arcCatalog crashing. I created a mosaic dataset, created a service, and setup a cache tile schema. I started by caching an area (AOI) where I know data exists...many holes in the dataset still. I cached at the source resolution, and after a few stops/starts due to permissions, I was successful. Now I want to go back in and view the Advanced tab for caching. Stopped the service and opened Service Properties, but each time I clock on the Advanced tab/folder, ArcCatalog crashes. Issue 2: trying to upgrade a bundle cache that was created in a previous version and currently being used in 10.2.2 production. Copied cache to 10.3 machine. Started a service, attached the cache. Looks ok. Trying to upgrade I get error the index was either too large or too small. Part of the problem I think was running out of space on C:. Cleaned up drive, then it didnt seem to have as much issue. Also deleted Status.gdb. Took two rebuilds to get it to show what is probably correct now. thought that would help...it didnt. Ive been following the geonet https://community.esri.com/thread/93090 but no solution there yet. ..and my final entry.. I just tested with 10.3 final (Desktop and Server) and it is still an issue. I did several more test however, and I think it is ONLY on Image Server extension service/caches. I sent two "crash" reports in thru the popup. Let me know if you need additional info. Now that you know it's the image server services, I wonder if you can reproduce it? How to reproduce: 1. in arccatalog, open an Admin connection to the ArcGIS Server machine 2. find and Image Server with a cache 3. stop the service 4. right click, select Service Properties 5. on left, click the "Advanced Settings" tab/folder ....crash Not an issue if service is running. Bottom line....I need to make sure I don't hit on the Caching advanced settings tab when the service is stopped. When it is running, it doesn't seem to be an issue. I was thinking that the Advanced Settings tab should be grayed out, but that is not the case for the map services, so I think it's just a bug with the Image services. So maybe something in this will trigger an idea for you. I definately agree that the "advanced" tab is showing up at inappropriate times. There may have bee more in thie tech support incident that was over the phone and therefore not in my notes. So, if something more comes to me, I'll try to summarize more. BTW, on a totally different note, if you haven't discovered it yet, the 10.3 bundles and the 10.2.x bundles are a different format. So if by chance you have a mix, that may cause issues too.

I Remember seeing and reporting that (adv tab showing with dynamic checked) during beta. I'll have to search around to see if I ever received feedback as I can't remember squat some days. It does seem that when I had the same issue I did get it to work eventually. ....not that that helps you right now.

This may not be the issue, but in the first graphic/clip in you original message, ithe Dynamic layer option is checked, not the cache option. That may be why no scales are showing. (it may be you just grabbed the clip at the wrong time)

I typically rename the cache folder (if it already exists) when I create a new service or update a service. I then create it but tell it that it is dynamic. then I rename the cache folder the to correct name and restart the srvice. It will recognize that the cache it there. Especially in 10.2.x, it seems that even though I said manual, it would always want to do it automatically. But this worked to trick it. If needing to update the cache, you may need to delete the Status GDB and rebuild it. On another notes, I find that rather than using the tools to delete (if replacing the full cach anyway), it was easier to zap them in the file manager than with the tools. Just my 2 cents.

If you haven't already looked at this ArcGIS Help 10.1 troubleshooting page, that might give you a clue. I remember seeing this error on our install in the past (SQL, not Oracle). If you do a browser set, as Vince mentioned, there are many posts and many causes. If the troubleshooting doc or other posts don't help, I would recommend calling this in to support.

That's a good question. It's easy to figure out on Desktop, but not Server. I may need to do the same thing in the near future, so I was looking around too, and so far haven't found any good steps for "deauthorizing". It may require a call to you customer service rep. ?? EDIT: check out Deauthorizing ArcGIS Server 10 same topic. summary, sounds like you don't deauthorize, but instead use the same ECP. If I remember correctly, it may take the customer rep to allow additional authorization with the same ecp, even if your myesri says 0/1. That is just something I have floating around my memory.

Tom, Looks interesting. I'll add it to my doc when I get a chance. It will be something worth trying if I ever get to the point of writing a widget myself. Thanks for sharing.

No, which level creates it, or which machine (unless it's a permission issue???) should NOT (oops...missing "not" in first version)matter. In case it's a permission thing....have you tried copying it over to the Basic machine and running it local...making sure the permissions are set? if it works that was, then I would look at the permissions for the file between the machines.

You can take a look at the functionality matrix Functionality Matrix for ArcGIS 10 and Server | ArcGIS Blog to see if the specific task you are trying to do is supported by the Basic level or not. I know there are some restrictions with what you can do with "Distributed Geodatabases" and multi-user databases, but I agree with Darren, you should be able to add a field....but it does depend on what type of data you are working with. (rasters and images may have license level restrictions). Are you using Spatial Analyst with your Standard license for example....may be the extension that is needed and not the level. Also, maybe there is a data lock and therefore schema lock on the data that could block it (can not change schema if anyone is in the file or if it is being used). things like that. Also, if it's versioned, I recommend rolling it back (i.e. reconciling and getting rid of versions) and getting the status ID = 0 before changing a schema. This might be more than you are dealing with, but wanted to mention. btw - typically you shouldn't mark your own response as "helpful" unless it has something that is helping resolve the issues or will help others.

Tom, for what it's worth, I'm trying to keep up on a list of WAB and custom widgets Web AppBuilder Developer Edition – Customization Resource List I've link to other repositories on GitHub including gavinr/wab-widget-search · GitHub and Esri/arcgis-webappbuilder-widgets-themes · GitHub And can link to yours if you have a central location. This list started for me to find my notes and all the links, but it's a good place for others to find things too. If you have a bunch, doing a GeoNet page listing all, like Robert and Larry have done, is helpful both for my list and others. that can then link to your GitHub and/or a zip like other have done. I agree with robert that not all that customize WAB are heavy duty developers. I'm a good hack and can do some on gitHub, but I spend much more time on GeoNet.

I'm assuming your Standard and Basic licenses are concurrent/floating and not single-user? If so, check out Accessing licenses and extensions in Python—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop With will let you build in the ability to check if the Standard license is available, checkit out, run your program, and then check it back in. If it's a fairly short script, that may work (unless your Standard license is always tied up, or if they are standalone/single-user...in which case, this wouldn't help).

Thanks Robert. So that is something you built into your widgets it sounds like....not a default WAB feature. It is a nice feature and would be helpful for all custom widgets....(hint hint to others)....but being more a user of the custom widgets than author, I'm happy for anything you all provide. and of course, any widgets that come with the "default" install should already be compatible...at least one would hope.

Robert Scheitlin, GISP wrote: You can check which version of the eSearch widget you are actually running by holding the Alt key and clicking on the widgets header (to be sure what version you are running). Robert, this would be helpful for me, but not sure what "widget's header" we should be clicking. Any chance to give us a snapshot/clip?

Chad, The Web AppBuilder Developers Edition (WAB) is probably you best bet to get started. There are many resources on GeoNet to help, and many users have started creating custom widgets to help us all out. Join and start following Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS and Web AppBuilder Custom Widgets and ArcGIS API for JavaScript and check out (my blog) the following to help you get started Tips and Observations for getting Web AppBuilder - Developer Edition Installed Web AppBuilder Developer Edition – Customization Resource List WAB does require access to ArcGIS Online or a Portal account to get started....if you prefer to avoid that, the Javascript API is the place to start with the many samples available. ArcGIS API for JavaScript Hope this helps to get you started.
