Version 4.34 is there, it’s here, it’s everywhere. There are enhancements, bug fixes, and new functionality.

Semantic versioning brings clarity, predictability, and better tooling support to the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript. Next February we will release 5.0.0!

When it comes to building web mapping applications, developers often encounter unique obstacles when targeting Safari and all other browsers on iOS. iOS devices often have stricter memory and CPU usage limits compared to their Android counterparts, making web mapping applications more susceptible to browser tab refreshes. The goal of this blog is to provide information and guidance for customers using web applications that are causing browser tab refreshing on iOS devices. This can be any web app, including ArcGIS configurable apps and builders, custom apps built with the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, or any other memory or processing intensive app.

On July 8th, members of the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript team will show the latest and greatest feature highlights in ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript (version 4.33).

Version 4.32 is here. There are bug fixes, enhancements, and new functionality. By the numbers: we fixed 23 bugs, made 17 enhancements, added or updated 21 samples, and optimized 12 components.

Version 4.31 is here, and it’s so good.

This is a very common scenario that lot of developers must have pondered upon. We have a secured GIS web service that is accesible to limited users within our ArcGIS Enterprise. Now we want to use this service in an application built on top of ArcGIS JavaScript SDK. Now if we use this GIS web service directly in the JavaScript SDK a login popup will often be presented to the user whenever the application is initialized. Now the challenge is that the app is meant to be used without any login as it is for a wider audience base & the GIS service cannot be exposed publically also as it contains some sesnitive Information.

We want a solution which can allow us to use the secured GIS service in the public facing application without any login prompts from ArcGIS Enterprise & the serivice acces also needs to restricted as well to offer wider security & data integrity.

ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript v4.30 release is now planned for Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
