Hi James, Could you provide me a link to where this is in the documentation? I have not been able to find it. Thanks! Is it possible to collect the participant's IP address in order to help identify members of the public who submit data? If not IP address, is there any other information (device type, operating system, etc.) that might be useful in determining if participants are trying to falsify data? I have a survey created in Connect where I would like to modify the Thank You screen. Our client is collecting locations where participants have seen cigarette trash on the ground or where they have seen people smoking on our smoke-free campus. Once participants complete the survey our client would like them to be able to click on a link to their website for more information on the campus smoke-free policy or for support on quitting smoking. I have programmed online surveys for many years and editing the thank you screen is a common feature/tool/practice for online surveys. Allen Risley California State University San Marcos

My client has licensed a domain for the research project they are conducting. We are using Survey123 Connect to create the survey form. Is there a way to use their web domain as the address for the survey? Allen Risley GIS Specialist California State University San Marcos

I have a .png image that loads at the beginning of one of my Survey123 Connect surveys. The image is in the media folder and is named correctly in the XLS form. The image displays correctly in the Survey123 Connect preview, but does not display when the survey is uploaded to the web for deployment. Any ideas? https://arcg.is/ySyj9 Allen Risley GIS Specialist Cal State University San Marcos

Thanks James. Is there a way to trigger having the data save for a survey before the final submit button is sent? That way I could include a link to an external website where respondents could receive additional information. Two questions: 1) Is there a way to implement a "Thank You" screen when programming with Survey123 connect? After data is transferred I would like to have survey respondents jump/continue to a screen that has web links to other resources related to the survey topic. Is there a way to do this? 2) Is there a way to display a counter so that respondents can know how many surveys have been collected? My survey is part of a community action campaign and the client believes we will get greater participation and repeat participation if respondents can see how many times users have submitted data. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance... Allen Risley GIS Specialist Cal State University San Marcos

I see there is a new build of Survey123 Connect (Build 3.1.126). What do I need to do to install this? Can I install it on top of the old build or do I need to install it in a different location? Do I need to uninstall the previous build? What happens to my current surveys? Thanks, Allen Risley GIS Specialist California State University San Marcos

That's funny (strange) because those same files have been working in the past. But I will remove the spaces.

Hi James, Is there any reason why this modified link would no longer work properly on my smartphone? I’m having some very strange Survey123 things happening all of a sudden. Here’s what’s up: Using Survey123Connect I created a new survey by selecting one of my existing survey forms. I made a few changes to the new form, including a revised image for one of my answer choices. I added a background color. I made sure that Open Street Map was the default map selected in the settings. Saved the revised spreadsheet and the form previewed properly in Survey123 Connect. I published the new survey. This creates a new folder in the “My Survey Designs” folder under my ArcGIS folder on my computer – I made sure the new image file was in the media folder. I go to the Survey123 website and choose the new survey from the My Surveys menu. I make the appropriate changes on the Collaborate tab. When I choose to “Open the survey in a new tab” the survey opens, but the new image does not display. However… When I scan the QR code for the survey with my smartphone, the new images appear? So between the Survey123 Connect Form Preview, the website survey link and the QR code I’m getting three different outcomes. Now, on to the forced version modification of the URL. The survey link URL for this new study is https://arcg.is/1aHWrf or https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/5c6eb57411344545872beaaf8f51f57c . You showed me this URL modification so I would be able to use OpenStreetMap (which I have chosen in Survey123 Connect). The modified link is https://survey123qa-cf.arcgis.com/share/5c6eb57411344545872beaaf8f51f57c?version=3.1 The modified link opens properly in the web browser and still does not display the new image files, but it does use OpenStreetMap as the basemap. When I try to use this modified link on my Galaxy Android smartphone, it’s a complete mess. The formatting is all messed up. It displays the new images but the formatting of the question text and icon sizes are not correct and the map does not display at all. Can you help me out here? I was making such good progress a few weeks ago but now I can’t come up with a version of the survey (other than the Form Preview in Survey123 Connect) that reflects what I have programmed. I’m at a stage with this project where I need to have a version I can share with colleagues for comment. Hi Adrian, The zipped shapefile is 1.3 MB. It is a .zip file. It is a polygon file, wit the polygons being zipcodes, so the problem might be that there are some multi-part fields in the data. I added the zipped shapefile as an item in ArcGIS Online with no problems. I then went back to Community Analyst and added the feature service using the Custom Data Setup method. That worked, so the immediate problem is solved. Thanks you for your help - that article is now in my list of bookmarks. The point behind this exercise is that I am working with public health students who have limited GIS skills but want to include some GIS analysis in their work. I'm trying to document as simple a set of steps at possible so the students can be somewhat self-sufficient at this task. The students are designing health-based intervention programs, and part of their design is to select locations for the mythical intervention offices near the target populations. For several semesters I have been teaching students how to use Smart Map Search to select data variables relevant to their health condition of interest and then use the sliders to isolate the census tracts most likely to have greater proportions of their target population. One problem we have encountered is that Community/Business Analyst does not have a lot of health condition/ailment data. Our university recently licensed Simply Analytics, which has more of this data, so we are exporting shapefiles to then import into CAO/BAO to hopefully use in Smart Map Search. Sometimes it's working, sometimes not - but it's a marked improvement over where we were previously. Thanks for the help!

Hi James, We are deploying using the web form. Users are people on our campus who see people smoking/vaping or witness smoking trash (cig butts, packaging) on the ground (we're a smoke-free campus). These are random people - can't expect them to download the app. They either scan a QR code we have printed on signage or find a link to the survey on the SmokeFree campus web page.

The warning message is stating that there are more than 100 records so it will import the first 100. So I try clicking on the OK button to continue and nothing happens. Shouldn't something happen when I click on the OK button?
