Hello, I have created a Survey123 form with no repeats. There is a secured feature service created from a non-versioned, archived enabled, SDE table with GlobalIDs. When I add the submission_url and form_id to the xlsx table and try to publish it, I get an error that the table specified in the form_id field is not found. I am entering in the name of the feature class with the SDE table to that field, so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I am using Survey123 Connect 3.10, although the form was created under version 3.6 The feature class name is dw_external_lab_data3 I have attached the xlsx form for you to review. If anyone has any ideas as to why it won't recognize the table, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lisa

Thanks Zach, I was able to get it to work, but I had to do some tweaking of the choices and how they were set up. I have a question now regarding null values in the csv file I am using for the pulldata command. There are list of email addresses in different field names, depending on what role the person has. In many cases, the fields are null values when there is no one who holds that role for that given feature. I would prefer to have the note to only display if the value for that feature is not null. Is there a way to do that and should that go into the relevant field or someplace else? I have tried using the string-length({AdminEmail})>0 and I get an error. It doesn't seem to recognize the AdminEmail since it isn't a field in the 'name' column of the survey. Is there a way to create a condition that will only display the note if the value in the external csv file is not null? Thanks in advance for any assistance with this? Lisa

Hello, I am creating a survey123 form and am trying to figure out how to accomplish a certain task. The form will ask the question of which county a feature is in. Once the county is selected from the drop-down list, I would like the district names and health department names to populate automatically. There is one district fir any given county and one health department for any given county, but it is more likely that the user will know which county the feature is in than either the district or health department. I have already tried setting up calculation and select_one options, but neither of those are working. I am not sure if that is a default answer or not. Basically, I would like the survey to grab data from the list_names in the choices tab so that if they select County A, the survey will automatically know to bring over the district and health department names corresponding to that county in the choices. Because there is a one to many relationship between the counties and districts, as an example, where there are multiple counties per district, I cannot set it up the normal way of cascading selects. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. An example is below. List_name name label district county Johnson Johnson County #1 county Jefferson Jefferson County #3 county Lincoln Lincoln County #1 district #1 First Dept. district #3 Third Dept. In this case, if the user selected Lincoln County, then I would want the district to automatically populate with #1. Thanks, Lisa

Hello, I would like to be able to create one AGOL application with multiple maps that each allow editing, where the users can select which map they would like to use/edit. I see applications that allow editing, but only one map can be included. I see applications with the ability to include multiple maps, but no editing is allowed. The web-app builder would be great, but again, only one map can be included. Basically, there are different maps with different layers, depending on which data needs to be edited. I don't want to load all of the data into one map and application because different users will edit different parts and I want to make all of the fields required fields, which I can do if I split the fields up into different applications. Also, most of the users are not very GIS savvy and I don't want to make the app complicated by requiring users to have to turn layers on and off depending on what data they are editing. Any ideas on how to best accomplish this?

Hello, I am trying to create the ability for users to enter in a sequence value for individual records within a repeat expression. So, if 20 records are entered in a repeat expression, how do I best allow the user to then assign priorities from 1-20 for each of those records? I believe there shouldn't be any duplicate values in the sequence, so I would need to make sure that each one was only used once. This sequence doesn't pertain to how they were entered in at the time, but rather, in which order they should be visited when they return later. Any assistance at all would be great. Lisa

Hi Blake, As I mentioned in the original question, I tried the calculate field syntax using a variety of options, including without any quotes around dir2. It still doesn't work. If I use arcpy.CalculateField_management(fc, "Work_order", dir2, "PYTHON_9.3"), it still doesn't work. The error I get from that is 'NameError: name 'Vista_1904309' is not defined'. So, it calculates the value correctly, as that is what I am expecting, but it doesn't populate the field and give the error above. The code sample I included is actually a subset of a much larger script, so the other imports are from other commands not included in the small subset I included for the purpose of the question.

I have been struggling with a python script for several days and I am hoping someone can provide me some guidance. I need to be able to enter the filename from a txt file (original data) into the mdb table that was created from the txt file into a field named work_order. I am using Windows 10, ArcGIS 10.7.1, python 2.7.16 The script is below. It works correctly all the way until the final arcpy.CalculateField_management expression and I get an error that dir2 is not defined. I have tried specifying the dir2 using single quotes, double quotes, and no quotes, and it won't work with any of those options. If anyone can assist, I would greatly appreciate it. Lisa

Hello, I have created a web map with point data from a spatial view. When I open the web map I can see the point distribution across the state (Michigan). As I zoom in and pan around, the point distribution remains consistent. Everything seems to be ok there. I am using the print widget to allow the users to export to pdf. For some reason, when I export some maps at the county scale, the number of points that appear in the pdf map is far greater than what I saw in the web map. I know that sometimes if there are too many points, you will not be able to see them all until you zoom in closely enough. I have tried to zoom in very closely into the areas where the pdf shows so many points, but there aren't any additional points that are coming through as I zoom in more closely. Any ideas of what is going on? It seems to affect the counties that are a little larger in size than the others and use a larger base map scale setting. The attached include a screen shot from the web map and the other is the export pdf. Any ideas of what is going on and how I can fix it?

Hello, I am trying to create dynamic text in AGO. I have seen many online discussions and instructions for how to do that in ArcMap, and in Data Driven pages, but I want to do it in AGO, in a widget. Specifically what I want to be able to do involves a filter. The user selects a county using the filter widget and then the webapp zooms in to that county. That works fine. What I then want to be able to do is with the print widget. I would like to be able to have the Title dynamically include the county name followed by other non-dynamic text. So, based on which county the user selects in the filter, the Title would read <County> Results in mcg/L. Any ideas of how I can do that? I have tried various ways already and so far nothing is working. I really appreciate any assistance with this. Thanks, Lisa

Hello all, I am having issues with the SQL server spatial views not updating, but I cannot unregister as versioned to the many versioned feature classes I manage through our enterprise environment. (I saw a discussion from 2013 that was similar to this, but the answer doesn't help my situation). We use ArcGIS 10.2.2, SQL Server Management Studio Express 2008 R2. I have the option selected to Move Edits to Base on all versioned feature classes and we are only using the Default version. There are no child versions in our SDE. We have had issues with the SQL spatial views created using the versioned feature classes not updating correctly at times. If I go in manually and run the spatial view again, it seems to grab the new information, but until I run a geodatabase compression, the results are even more confusing as it has multiple records for each feature (one for each edit made since the last nightly compression). I run many automated processes every night and am wondering if there is a way to automatically get SQL Server to refresh the spatial views (all of them as we have many) so that we can avoid the issues and then have the nightly compression completed afterwards to make sure the duplicate records for the same feature do not get included into the spatial view. We have hundreds of staff editing the data in our SDE every day and we need to be able to bring those edits in correctly into the spatial views that are accessed by hundreds more. We have encountered this problem multiple times and each time refreshing the views fixes it, but I hate to have to do that manually each time, plus then have the need to compress the database as well afterwards. I run many of my nightly updates in Python, so any ideas of how to have SQL update the views automatically using Python would be greatly appreciated. Any assistance at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Lisa

Hello, We are beginning to create map services and we are running into the question of the best approach to multiple layers with different update schedules within the same mxd (same theme). We have some data that is static and will not need to be updated ever and we would prefer to not have to update those layers again since that would be a waste of time. Some data, however would be updated weekly. These datasets are all in the same map service mxd because they have the same theme. We will be creating many map service mxds in total and do not want to have a separate mxd for each theme and update schedule, but we do not want to have to update every dataset either when some of them are static. I was hoping that perhaps there was a way to use the data frames to resolve this issue, but that isn't the case. Anyone have any ideas of how to best accomplish this and if there is a method to complete this without having to create extra map service mxds or update the static data weekly? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lisa

I attached the full update script which triggers the ArcCatalog model. The one that keeps failing is model45. The other attachment is the exported script from model45. Neither work from the python script, but the ArcCatalog model (model45) does work correctly when I run it manually through ArcCatalog.

Hello, I run nightly updates on many datasets and have completed dissolves for a few years and they used to work just fine. Now, for some reason I cannot get any of the dissolve models to work when triggered from the python script. The models work when I run them manually through ArcCatalog, but I need them to work through the python script every night as opposed to having to run them manually every morning. I have added a Repair Geometry tool into the model to take care of any issues there, but I still get the invalid topology error (but I only get this error when it runs through Python). I have exported the model into a python script and copied and pasted that into the nightly update python script, and that didn't help either. I have tried many options like creating new models, creating new geodatabases or shapefiles and it still will not work through the python script. This seems to have started after I tried to run a dissolve on a rather large dataset which took over two week to process in ArcMap and it still hadn't completed when I cancelled the process. Ever since then, any models including a dissolve command have not work through python. I have rebooted my computer several times, and it is still a problem. I am using ArcGIS 10.2.1 (I cannot upgrade easily because I do not have admin rights) on Windows 7. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions of what I can do to get the dissolve to work again, I would greatly appreciate it. Because I do not have admin rights, I am limited as to what I can try without having to put in a request to our IT department (which can be a long, painful, and frustrating process). Thanks in advance for any assistance. Lisa
