I created a File Geodatabase containing a feature class with a few thousand features some time ago. I forget exactly how I did it, but somehow I managed to calculate a Global ID for all the features. Now I am editing the feature class and when I create a new feature the Global ID is not populating. I have tried various methods, but can't get it to work. Any ideas why?

Thanks Jake. Yes, I did have GUIDs populated in both Origin and Destination tables. I was able to resolve my situation by doing the following: Open Origin (feature class) attribute table and select relevant rows. Open Destination (table) attribute table and select relevant row. Add Production Editing toolbar to ArcMap Start Editing (this took a very long time due to the number of features in my feature class - some 30,000+) In the 'Manage Features' window, click 'Update' tab Expand the Destination table, and then expand the identified relationship Right click the Origin feature class under this relationship, and select 'Add Selected'. (This took a very long time!) Save edits (this took a very long time too). I'm not sure if there is a more efficient way of establishing relationships in more recent versions of ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro. If there is, then my issue will hopefully be better dealt with in the future. Alternatively, is it not possible to create a 'Relate' geoprocessing tool which can establish relationships between tables once the relationship class has been selected?

I have a point feature class with tens of thousands of features, all with a GUID. I also have a table with a single record of information I wish to relate to every single feature in my point feature class. This record also has a GUID. I have successfully set up a relationship class between the point feature class and table inside of my geodatabase, based on the origin and destination GUIDs. If I start an edit session, I am able to add my selected table record to individual features using the attribute window, as outlined here. However this is not time efficient for the number of features I have. Is there a way to bulk relate my table record to the thousands of features I have? Is there a geoprocessing tool that will do the job? I am running ArcGIS 10.3.1.

Thanks Dan, though so many unresolved threads... Can this issue be resolved without switching to Drone2Map?

I am attempting to create an orthomosaic in ArcGIS using the Imagery & Orthomapping tools. When I add my UAV-captured images to a new ortho mapping workspace, I am presented with the following warning errors: Error: 8004206c: Failures reported while processing specified command item. [101] Error: 80042019: Chained Error ID: 0X80042019 Error: 80042019: Could not build mosaic dataset item. Error: 8004103f: Creation of frame camera model failed. before the whole thing falls over with: ERROR 999999: Something unexpected caused the tool to fail. Please refer to the error help for potential solutions, or contact Esri Technical Support http://esriurl.com/support. Failed to execute (AddRastersToMosaicDataset). What is causing this error? Could the problem be that ArcGIS Pro does not have my camera model (FC300C) in it's database?

Yes I understand they are just pictures. It is UAV data captured from a flight plan, all done in GPS mode. The images aren't orthorectified. They have a central lat/lon in the EXIF. This is why I am using the imagery & orthomapping tools.

Yeah so the extents is reporting this, regardless of whether I apply a spatial reference or not. So the images don't have a native coordinate system it seems, and you're not able to trick it into thinking what it is. Strangely, I have imagery from a different sensor, but same manufacturer, and the EXIF is exactly the same. Yet that imagery will run through the ortho mapping process without any problems.

I am getting the same errors reported by Paul at the start of this thread, however my altitudes are coming in positive. Any other ideas why this might be occurring? I am using ArcGIS Pro 2.2.4, and ArcGIS 10.6.1. I notice in ArcCatalog that there is no spatial reference associated with my images. I understand how this would be a problem. However when I apply the correct coordinate system, either projected or geographic, ArcMap still throws this error:

I find the 'Make Grids and Graticule Layer' tool very cumbersome to use, and not very friendly for Data Driven Pages. My data frames and scales keep rejigging themselves, and the grids are all over the place when exporting data driven pages. Let's make the grid XMLs (such as those available through Defense Mapping / Maritime Charting extensions) available as 'Styles' in the Data Frame Properties > Grid tab, much like the MGRS Grid styles. E.g. grid styles for the following: ICM_3K ICM_5k+ ICM_10K+ LPC50 JOGA TLM50 TLM100 INT2_K INT2_L

I propose a web service (possibly Feature Service) available in AGOL, which can be either consumed directly by a GIS, or downloaded as a static file. The service would present the geographic areas as described by the relevant attributes, from the necessary documentation available through the How To: Select the correction geographic (datum) transformation when projecting between datums page. I have successfully created an unshared web service for Table 1 of the ArcGIS 10.3.1 Geographic Transformation Table, so I know this is possible.

Thanks Bo, I have had a bit of a play around with the checkbox you identified, but still am not really any clearer on how to achieve what I want. I've noticed the data frame is changing around which I don't think I want. I want to set it and forget it. The data frame is naturally my area of interest. Do I need to shrink the data frame within the map layout to account for the grid/graticule elements that will be generated around it? How can I get the grid/graticule elements to fall exactly within my neatline? How do you know how much paper space the XML grid numbering system will take up? How do you ensure it fits within the neatline whilst maintaining the area of interest at the correct scale?

I'm having a lot of trouble getting my head around the Make Grid and Graticule Layer tool. I have a polygon for my area of interest - set to a specific scale for my map layout. I can generate a grid layer using the aforementioned tool, however the grid numbers in the marginalia don't appear. When I stretch the data frame out to try and find them, I can kinda see them if I stretch left-right direction, but if I stretch in the up-down direction, I'm back where I started...no marginalia The more I resize the data frame, the more I am chasing the marginalia which never appears fully in layout view. If I change the scale, then I can see the whole grid layer - but I don't want to change the grid scale, because my map then won't be the scale I'm after. If I flip to data view and I can see everything appearing as it should. So why won't it fit properly in layout view? I'm so confused... I can't find a decent tutorial on this tool anywhere.

The same issue was frustrating me for a long time. I'm unsure if this problem is easier to handle in newer versions of ArcMap, but certainly in 10.3 I was surprised to find this was the resolution. Converting labels to annotation in a geodatabase locks in a single reference scale. This is no good if you have Data Driven Pages with differing scales. By converting labels to annotation In the map, you are then able to go into the Data Frame properties > Annotation Groups tab and you will see a new Group has been created. Turn off the <Default> Group and change the Reference Scale on the newly created Group to <None>.

I may have answered my own question, but it seems from this Story Map Cascade Blog, that there are three aspects of a map’s view that you can configure: the location, the layers, and whether a pop-up visible. Would I be correct in inferring that if I wish to simply change the symbology of a layer in my web map, that I will need to do a 'Save As' on the source web map, modify the symbology as required, save again, then reference the modified web map to the required slide?
