I find the 'Make Grids and Graticule Layer' tool very cumbersome to use, and not very friendly for Data Driven Pages. My data frames and scales keep rejigging themselves, and the grids are all over the place when exporting data driven pages.
Let's make the grid XMLs (such as those available through Defense Mapping / Maritime Charting extensions) available as 'Styles' in the Data Frame Properties > Grid tab, much like the MGRS Grid styles.
E.g. grid styles for the following:
ICM_3K
ICM_5k+
ICM_10K+
LPC50
JOGA
TLM50
TLM100
INT2_K
INT2_L
This is offered in ArcGIS Pro. Learn more about grids and graticules in ArcGIS Pro here https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/layouts/grids-and-graticules.htm
Thank you very much for your reply. Can I make grid and graticules throug python code? I am looking for your reply.
To the best of my knowledge, grid and graticule creation is not currently supported in arcpy.mp.
