Hi Justin, The fix for this issue needed to be made at the AppFramework level which unfortunately wasn't released in time for the Survey123 3.11 release. It will definitely make it into the 3.12 update (which will be built using AppFramework 4.4). We're planning to make a 3.12 beta build available for testing via the Early Adopter website that will include this fix within the next week. Apologies for the delay, Brett

Hi Morgan, Once you have created a webmap containing your spatial data that you'd like to use in Survey123 (as a basemap), you just need to add it as a Linked Content item. This is done in Survey123 Connect, using the 'Linked Content' tab → Add map link. Once it has been linked, your custom webmap can be selected as a basemap using the basemap chooser, just make sure the webmap itself (and all the data displayed on it) has also been shared publicly : Brett

Hi James, Please check the 'choices' worksheet of your XLSForm. It is complaining that there is no list named 'list_asset_and_condition_asset_type', but your select_one question is trying to reference it. Brett

Hi Megan, Phil asked me to take a look at this. Just to clarify, your field staff are only having this issue with the 'freehand' tool for capturing a sketch geoshape geometry, but not the 'smart-shapes' tool - is this right? Also, is the error messge shown when drawing the area or when submitting the survey? I've set up a test survey by publishing your XLSForm to AGOL from Connect but I'm not able to reproduce this error. I've tried both capture tools with versions 3.10.326 or 3.11.164 (released last week) of the field app on Windows, iOS or Android. The log file suggests that the polygon being entered does not have enough vertices (ie it must have at least 3). I'm struggling to understand how this can even be entered, especially with the freehand sketch tool. Even when using the 'vertex' tool (by adding the method=vertex parameter in the body::esri:style column of XLSForm) the 'confirm geometry' button is greyed out until at least 3 vertices are captured: Is there any chance you could share a screen recording of this behaviour? You could email me directly using bstokes 'at' esri.com. Perhaps it may shed some light on what is causing this issue. Thanks, Brett

Hi Laurie, Thanks for taking time to respond. Apologies for not providing more information, the process for reporting an issue will vary depending on your country/region and also your account so we usually keep it general for GeoNet responses. Please go to support.esri.com and click on 'Contact Support'. If you're in the United States (for example) you will see the Report Bug link, otherwise you could call or email the contact details provided for your country/region. You could also select the Request a Case option but your user account will need to be connected to an Organisation with My Esri access. Alternatively, you could just contact your account manager directly via whatever method you choose and let them know. If you include details of the issue (as you have done in this post) they will be able to guide you through the process, or more likely, do it for you. Hope this helps, Brett

Hi Laurence, Thanks for identifying this issue, I can reproduce the problem and understand the frustration it would cause. I've already created an internal dev issue, but I strongly encourage you to submit this as a bug via support.esri.com. You will be assigned an official bug number which can be used to search for and subscribe to the bug on the Esri Support site. If the same problem is reported by other customers it will be attached to the same bug number, which helps us assess the impact and prioritize accordingly. Thanks again, Brett

Hello Arturo, Appologies in advance, I'm using Google translate for your question. Which Huawei device are you using? Most newer devices will be ARM V8 (64-bit). The EMUI OS is supported on ARM V7 (32-bit), x86 (32-bit) and ARM V8 (64-bit) so I'm not sure which option you need. Please select the appropriate download from the Survey123 Resources page depending on your specific Huawei device. The download itself will be a .exe file. You will need to run this on a Windows machine, it will prompt you to accept the license agreement and then ask you for a location to extract the .apk file. This .apk file can then be sideloaded to your device and installed as normal. Hope this helps, Brett

Hi Laurence, Since hiding questions using the body::esri:visible column is currently a beta feature, this post would be better placed on the Early Adopter forum. That way it could potentially be addressed before the body::esri:visible column is officially supported. This behaviour is because image and audio questions are actually attachments to the feature service, but is definitley a valid enhancement. Thanks for identifying this, I'll update the Early Adopter documentation to list it as a known limitation for now. Brett

Hi Morgan, Your best bet is probably to start with the Survey123 web designer. Here you can create a simple survey that contains a Map (point) question and a Multiline Text question: Once you've published the survey, you just need to make it public via the Collaborate tab in the Survey123 website. For the "Who can submit to this survey?" part, select Everyone (Public). You may also want to adjust some of the other settings on this page. You can then share the survey URL link so that people can access and complete the survey in their browser. See these two Blogs by Ismael Chivite on public surveys for more information. https://community.esri.com/groups/survey123/blog/2016/11/10/getting-started-with-public-surveys https://community.esri.com/groups/survey123/blog/2020/05/11/securing-data-in-public-surveys-survey123-web-designer Hope this helps, Brett

Hi Andrew, I'm now able to reproduce your problem where the map widget fails to load intermittently in the web app (the field app seems fine). Can you please try setting your basemap in Survey123 Connect and republish the survey? This appeared to make a difference in my test survey (although I'm still trying to understand why). I think it may be worth logging this as a bug via support.esri.com Brett

Hi Garret, The field app has the Inbox functionality that allows users to view and edit data that is contain in the feature layer. I would suggest enabling the inbox for your survey and testing out if that provides a solution for your project. Here is the documentation to help get started: Prepare for editing existing survey data—ArcGIS Survey123 | Documentation Brett

Hi Felipe, Are you able to attach your XLSForm so that I can troubleshoot further? Do you have 'GPS2' selected for your 'reciever_id' question and 'no' selected for your 'running_check' question? From your screenshots it looks like your 'Antenna Offset Check' and 'Result' calculations depend on these selections. Is there a reason you have 'relevant' expressions set on your 'calculate' questions? Brett

Hi Keith, I have not heard of this issue before. Can you please check your Survey123 field app version number on your iPad? 3.10.239 was one of our Survey123 Connect RC builds made available through the Early Adopter website. The final 3.10 build number should be 3.10.326, so I just want to make sure you're using the final 3.10 version. Regardless, if you can reproduce this behaviour using the web app (which will be the final version of 3.10), it does sound like the problem is device related. Have you been able to test the same survey / feature layer on a different device to rule out a problem with the survey or Enterprise? I'll ask one of one of the Survey123 team members to test this on his iPad Mini. Can you please provide the model and iOS version of your iPad Mini? Thanks, Brett

Hi Carriel, That's right, the media::image column in the XLSForm does not accomodate expressions (this includes referencing a previous question), so a different formula combo is not going to help here. This would be a valid enhancement request and I'd encourage you to submit this suggestion via the Survey123 Ideas page on GeoNet and/or support.esri.com. The Support team will provide an enhancement number for your records, then similar requests from other customers can added. This helps us assess demand for the enhancement and prioritize it accordingly. Brett
