Welcome to the third installment of the blog series on ArcGIS Solutions for Smart Campus Operations. The first two blog posts published in the series are: ArcGIS Solutions: University Grounds and Maintenance ArcGIS Solutions for University Campuses and Facilities In this post, I will focus specifically on ArcGIS Solutions commonly used to manage utilities at universities. First, let’s do a quick refresher. ArcGIS Solutions offers a powerful set of tools designed specifically for your industry, helping you meet your organization’s unique needs. By tapping into your trusted data, these solutions can streamline operations, uncover insights, and boost the value of your location-based tech. Now, let’s focus on the types of ArcGIS solutions leveraged by universities when it comes to managing utilities. Below are direct links to the solutions, feel free to click into any of them to get more information. GIS Request Management GIS Request Management can be used to manage the delivery of GIS services and communicate the value of the GIS program to the organization. The GIS Request Management solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you solicit requests for service, manage the delivery of GIS services, and promote the value of GIS to internal stakeholders. District Energy Data Management The District Energy Data Management solution can be used to map district heating and cooling assets, edit data, and view system maps in the field and office. It turns ArcGIS into a system for district energy organizations to easily inventory their assets and keep information up to date. It provides simple to use interactive system maps and dashboards for office and field staff, and increases collaboration. Water Utility Hydrant Inspections Water Utility Hydrant Inspections can be used to streamline fire hydrant inspections and monitor inspection programs that help water utilities increase hydrant reliability. The Water Utility Hydrant Inspections solution delivers a set of capabilities that help water utilities conduct routine hydrant inspections, understand asset conditions, record inspections in the field, ensure the entire organization has access to inspection information, and share hydrant status information with fire departments. Sewer Manhole Inspections Repairing, rehabilitating, or replacing manholes are large expenses for sewer utilities. The Sewer Manhole Inspections solution can be used to streamline the inspection of sewer manholes. It delivers a set of capabilities that help utilities conduct routine manhole inspections, understand manhole conditions, record manhole inspections in the field, manage inspection activities, and ensure the entire organization has access to inspection information.
