FYI - ESRI Support was helpful and responded to the case I opened with this reply: "I can confirm that there were performance issues with generating reports in Survey123 yesterday from 3:15 PM to 7:00 PM EDT and I have attached this issue to our case. In regards to the performance issue not appearing in the ArcGIS Online Health Dashboard, currently Survey123 is not a product listed in the Health Dashboard. However, I communicated your feedback with out internal resources and they have included your situation in a planning document for future improvements to the ArcGIS Online Health Dashboard. We greatly appreciate your feedback and I completely understand your frustration with not seeing a public explanation for the issue your organization was experiencing. Your feedback will be a great help in improving our communication moving forward and I believe will help many users."

Yesterday (2021-07-29) beginning around 3pm EST all the Survey123 submissions through Integromat that generate feature reports began failing due to a time out error. This was not a single survey, but multiple different surveys using different feature reports. I went directly to the Survey123 web site and tried creating the reports manually from there. That failed too, and continued to fail all the way up until around 7:30pm EST when it began working again. There were 23 surveys backed up in the Integromat queue. Clearly there was an issue with one of the hosting processes at ESRI that was failing to process these feature reports from the Survey123 web site since trying to generate any of them manually from the web site failed. There were (3) reports that were skipped – never even made it to Integromat since the trigger never executed because the Survey123 site must have been unreachable. I had to identify and process those ones manually. Yet, the ArcGIS Online Health dashboard showed all green – no issues - and still does the following day. That dashboard seems to be pretty much useless. It would be nice if it actually identified issues when they happened in real-time, but even after the fact when they don’t show up is even more frustrating – like there never was an issue. I'm opening a case with ESRI on this issue to hopefully generate some action. We have many people depending on these reports and we hear about it immediately when they don't receive them. It is understood there will be outages and problems from time to time, but having no acknowledgement of the issue by ESRI so we can pass along the information while waiting for a resolution is unacceptable.

Hey there, Following up on another post regarding grouped layers in Maps Beta. It seems as though when I use the map that was created in Maps Beta (including grouped layers) in Dashboard, only the non-grouped layers appear. I am using ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1, is this functionality supported? Tagging @SandraLuken1 & @JShi_EsriStaff for visibility. Thanks! -MG

Thanks Phil. That would work for some people, but many of them would either forget to do that or not want to do that because they need to be connected for other reasons. The ONLY way to make this work reliably is to take the responsibility out of the users hands and force the issue programatically. We cannot rely on the field people to do this on a regular basis. In the office world it seems like a simple solution, but in the real world with hundreds of non-technical people using this app it's just not going to happen. Hopefully there will be a better solution soon.

@JShi_EsriStaff , As of today, I am still unable to use group layers in Dashboards. Group layers do not display in the legend, nor the map when viewed on a map within the dashboard. Can you confirm that this functionality is active as of today?

Hi Phil, Thanks for the reply. I have not logged a case with Support. The scenario you explained above is probably exactly what's happening. During a check to remain logged in (token refresh) ...the user is in the field without any valid network available so that check fails and they are logged out. They cannot sign in again since they are still in the field without a valid network connection. It's not feasible to ask the users to abandon their work in the field, drive to a location where they can access a network to sign in again, then return to the field to create a survey. That's not going to happen. I imagine this scenario is fairly common for people working in remote locations - in our case wind and solar farms in the middle of nowhere. If this is the case, how can this be resolved? Seems like a major flaw in the intended (disconnected) functionality of Survey123. If there was a way to control/adjust the token refresh requirement wouldn't that solve the issue?

This issue is causing major issues now as we have many more Survey123 users and this is happening more often. The username field is also being used to get the submitters email address from the Enterprise SSO login and then process the submission and send email through Integromat. If the username/email address is not populated because the user is not logged in when the survey is started , then no email address is available and the whole system falls apart. Since many users are beginning these surveys in the field without any valid connection (cell or wifi) then the only way this is going to be sustainable is if the users login information is properly cached and available to populate the username/email fields when the user has been logged out of the app. Most of our users are all on iOS devices (phones and iPads) and should be using the 3.12 field app. I can confirm that no cached information is being saved if the user gets logged out then starts a new survey. The only workaround I see right now is to have the users manually enter their name/email if they are logged out when they start a survey and do not have access to a valid connection. Is there any news when this will be fixed? Hopefully ASAP.

Is it possible to change the Base & Heading fonts used in Site pages as shown below to a custom font? https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-hub/announcements/new-ways-to-add-and-format-text-on-your-arcgis-hub-sites/ This blog post outlines the procedure for using a custom font that's hosted on Google Fonts, but the proprietary custom font my organization is using is not going to be hosted on Google Fonts. I tried adding the URL pointing to a directory on our portal like .../css/fonts/mycustomfont - but that does not seem to be working. Does it HAVE to be hosted on Google Fonts? What's the correct URL syntax for a custom font Base & Header font NOT hosted on Google Fonts?

"Having said that, having said that it worked fine for me when I switched the printer service to Asynchronous mode." Every ESRI post on using geoprocessing print services stated the printer service MUST be set to Synchronous. Doing that results in timeout and job failure if executing a long print job. I switched to Asynchronous as per your recommendation and that fixed it! I think ESRI needs to modify their documentation.

I have just discovered this issue in one of my newer surveys. A field that is required, is within a repeat and contains a relevant expression is ignored - the user can submit the survey regardless whether or not the required field is filled out. App version (iOS) is 3.11.164, Survey123 Connect version is 3.11.123. Is there any update on when this issue may be fixed? Coming up on two years since this initial post.
