Thanks Robert - That makes sense, but unfortunately the app/configs directory only shows a single folder, called 'loading'. There's a main config.json file in the primary app directory, and this one looks to contain all of the custom configuration I set in WAB, including the widget property that's giving trouble, but it is set to 'true', as it should be. It's actually working correctly for me currently, other users are reporting incorrect behavior. Sadly I'm beginning to think this may be a 'clear your cache and try again' problem.

Have built a Web App in AGOL with the new 'My Government Services' app that uses the Near Me widget. All works well in AGOL, However when I down;oad the code, deploy it as an application on our web server, some of the settings for the Near Me widget seem to revert to default - specifically the 'Return Intersecting Polygons' option, which we need to have checked/set to true. All of our other custom settings seem to carry over correctly other than this one. There's a config.json file for the Near Me widget, but changes made here seem to have no impact on the application. The main Widget code is a JScript file and difficult to work with, but even scanning through that I can't find out where to change this, or why it's not respecting this particular setting I made in WAB before deploying. Thanks - Allen

Thanks Lindsay - Our Geocode service does allow reverse geocoding - if you submit a reverse geocode request directly through the REST endpoint, it returns correct results. I've opened a case w/ ESRI on this, and can post the solution when we figure it out. Current theory is that this is related to coordinate systems. Allen

I should add that this is all in a test environment - we are unfortunately locked into 10.3.1 for now in production until we can get our SDE databases upgraded from SQL Server 2008 to 2014.

Thanks Chris - The issue can be re-produced without a full server re-start. Essentially stopping/restarting the ArcGISGeoEvent service on the server (or ArcServer service) has the same effect. The input/output connectors appear valid (green not red). The map services are responsive - you can view data via ArcGIS Javascript from the rest endpoint. What does sometimes (not always but more than half the time) work is re-validating the servers in the data store (even though the input/output connectors show as valid, as do the items in the data store), then going into each input/output connector and essentially re-setting the properties, specifically the servers and layers where the map/feature services are coming from/writing to. The output feature services and GeoEvent extension are running on 10.4, but some of our input map services are coming from a 10.3.1 ArcServer machine. I thought this may be the problem, but we encountered similar behavior when running everything on 10.3.1 machines.

We have occasional server shutdowns on the machine hosting both map/feature services and GeoEvent Extentsion. Sometimes planned, sometimes not so much. These shutdowns absolutely destroy our GeoEvent services, to the point where I have to publish new map/feature services and re-configure the existing GeoEvent services to use these new services. I have tried 'graceful' shutdowns - shutting down the GeoEvent Service, then input+output connectors, then GeoEvent Service as a whole, then ArcServer, and bringing them back up manually in the reverse order) - no luck, things are still completely busted. Is there a way to handle this kind of thing? It's pretty disruptive and frustrating. Thanks - Allen

Love the new version using WAB with the Near Me widget. Basically ready to deploy (very easy to configure). However, the 'Searched Location' box that pops up next to the pin, when you click on the map for a location (instead of searching for a specific address) never populates. This looks like a reverse geocoding kind of thing, wondering if it's in the geocoder itself (we're using our own) or an issue with configuring the app/widget. The regular address search works perfectly, so our geocoder is valid and working. Thanks - Allen

I hear news of an available Zonar input connector for GeoEvent. My understanding is that it's available through Zonar (not downloadable through ESRI), and that ESRI needs to help with installation? Wondering if anyone has gone through this, and has tips on how to get started, as well as how difficult installation/configuration of the Zonar connector is w/o an on-site ESRI staff person visit. Didn't see anything obvious poking around on the Zonar site. Thanks - Allen

Just wondering if any one is able to recommend one over the other, or has been to both. I attended the one in Palm Springs in March 2016, and found it very good, especially the direct access to talk to and work with ESRI staff about specific issues and scenarios. Would like to go to the Washington D.C. summit this time, but an curious how much smaller it is, and if it's targeted more to specific industries. Thanks - Allen

I know this is an old-ish thread, but we're working in 10.3.1 and having the same issue. Wondering a couple of things - is it a 10.4 server or client issue as far as a fix? Also, has anything come to light that allows for a work-around if you can't upgrade to 10.4?

We have a 'send email' output connector set up and working. However I would like for it to send an email specifically when a certain condition is met. The geoevent service is simply getting paramedic units current location and status (available or not available) and symbolizing on status. We would like to have the email fire off when the count of available units drops below a given threshold. Not sure of the best processor to use here - any suggestions appreciated. Thanks - Allen

Any way to get ArcGIS Online to stop using UTC and use your organizations local time? We have several maps in AGOL that use a filter on a date/time field, displaying incidents for a specific day. However, records for a given day (July 20 for example) actually show up as July 19 in AGOL, with no records returned, even though there were in fact incidents on the 20th. We are not able to modify the date properties in ArcMap or database side of things as far as time zone changes. It is and has to remain in our local time. I understand why AGO does this, but it drives me crazy and would love it if someone had a workaround they could share. Hopefully it's easy/obvious and I have just missed it. Thanks - Allen

Ah ok - I was thinking along the lines of using a published service as your input and simply having GeoEvent work with whatever security you have on that service. Don't have any tips for what you are asking about. I also don't see anything in the GeoEvent rest endpoint that suggests you can apply security.

Hi Andrew - This is possible, we have this working at my organization. Are you using Web Tier or Token-based security on your ArcServer machine hosting the input service?

We have a webmap and associated Operations Dashboard that use the light gray canvas as a basemap. I'm noticing that the labels for the basemap are rendering on top of our features, which seems wrong for basemap behavior. Our data is a feature service, updated using Geoevent Processor - not sure if that is relevant here or not. Wondering if others have seen this behavior and/or have a workaround. Thanks - Allen
