I'll add that if you leave the page with the high-lighted parcel but no basemaps alone, after about 1 minute an 'unable to perform operation - invalid geometry' error will pop up

We're using I think the Google/bing tiling scheme = 1:564 - 1:2,311,162. The only error in the dev tools is related to access control: "Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header contains multiple values... We get this fairly frequently, and usually it's not a problem (sometimes it is, however).

Thanks Allison - I've played around changing the zoom scale - no luck. Even when I zoom in or out after executing the search, no basemap ever appears. It also appears that no matter what I set the zoom scale to, the scale/size of the selected parcel looks the same, which is odd (been using private browsing to avoid browser cache issues). We are using our own cached basemap and imagery - so theoretically it could zoom to a scale we're not cached at. But given that zooming in/out doesn't change anything, I'm stumped.

Working on configuring this app - not using the local gov't data model, but it's mostly all set with our own set up. Weird behavior though when search for a parcel by parcel ID. The parcel id is found, and a parcel is highlighted - however the basemaps totally disappear, so you end up with a selected parcel on a totally blank map, the parcel isn't even visible if not for the selection. Anyone seen this before? There is no way other than reloading the application to get the basemaps back. Everything else works fine - selecting and buffering a parcel is no problem - it's just the search that takes away any basemap. Thanks - Allen

Great - thanks Derek. Noticed that it has the patch for 10.3.1 and 10.4.1 but not 10.4, which is what we are running. Not in a position currently to switch our Portal installation. Would 10.4.1 patch work?

Hi Yeon - So we have, to a degree, figured this out. My organization is currently stuck at 10.3.1 versions of both desktop and server (hope to change as soon as possible). However we have a test machine with 10.4 versions of desktop and server on it. When we build a locator in 10.4, and publish it in 10.4 (with data reprojected to Web Mercator - haven't tried building a locator in our local system in 10.4) the Near Me widget in WAB does return the correct address. Currently this is the extent of the information I have, but once I talk to the ESRI support analyst to close this out, I'll add any new details. Allen

Hi Yeon - The ticket w/ ESRI is still being researched, no resolution yet. We have tried reprojecting the source data for our Locator service into several different systems - Web Mercator, World Aux. Sphere - and get the same results. Our basemaps are in Web Mercator so I had hoped that a Locator based on a Web Mercator dataset would fix this. What's interesting is that ESRI world geocoder does work correctly on our app, but you need to specify city and/or zipcode as well. I'll update here once it's resolved Allen

Thanks for taking the time to look into this Dan - Here's a diagram from someone who would be using this app - hopefully it explains things. Basicallly as the buffer is moving outwards, when it encounters the ROW it should stop counting that distance, then resume once it crosses the ROW.

ROW would need to be polygons, but we unfortunately don't have that data. If we did - is it possible to generate a buffer that does the kind of splitting you mention?

Beginning work on this app - Have a question from the main users regarding buffering. We (a City gov't) have a requirement relating to who gets notified of certain upcoming projects that results in using a 300 ft buffer most of the time. However, this is tricky because we are required to essentially not count the public right-of-way (essentially streets) in the buffer. So we need to buffer tool needs be 'smart' enough to not count the distance anytime it covers a right of way, and then continue calculating the distance after skipping over the right of way. A giant pain, and I doubt that a simple buffer tool can be configured to do this. Anyone know if 1) the default configuration accounts for this, and 2) if not, if this kind of thing is possible? Thanks - Allen

Getting an odd, encrypted error in Portal when trying to upload any kind of file - Going through My Content, Add Item, From my Computer. first part of the error is 'fsjsontoken2y..' (I did have a tag but deleted it before taking this screen shot, so that's not the problem). Thanks - Allen
