Hi. I'm not that familiar with Ipad/Ios so I'm looking for some help. I need to load a local basemap (tile package) to my ipad. However, I cannot install Itunes on my desktop computer at work. So, I need to figure out another way. The only option I really have is trying to use one of the cloud storage options. But, I don't know how to go from there to the ipad. So, I'd appreciate any information on free apps/tools that I could use. As well as details about how to find and get to the appropriate folder on the ipad to place the .tpk file. Thanks, Mary Ellen

Thank you. That's starting to make sense. I'm doing the 2nd scenario as that's all I have. The 1st scenario is not going to be easy. And may not be possible due to the size, level of detail, and randomness of work areas. But, definitely worth thinking about. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the suggestion regarding my first question. But, am I missing something in Collector? It appears that when I download a work area for offline editing, I'm stuck at the scale. Thanks, Mary Ellen

Hi. I'm new to Collector and I have a couple of questions that I hope aren't too stupid and someone can help with: 1.We have folks who do field data collection in many areas of the state in a day without internet connections in between - is it possible to create multiple offline maps on a mobile device using the same AGOL hosted web map? 2. When creating the work area for an offline map, are there ways to set it up so users can more easily navigate to areas on the map? Our data is statewide so navigating to a small work area can be time consuming as it doesn't appear you can do anything but pan and zoom when selecting the work area. Thanks, Mary Ellen

Hi. Does anyone know what Parent_Not_Registered means when trying to register a database with ArcGIS Server? This occurs when I try to register an Oracle database or SQL Server database. Thanks, Mary Ellen

Hi. I hope this question makes sense as I'm not a database person. We are trying to track down an error in an application (we didn't write) that is made up of esri's javascript api and python api/scripts. We're trying to track down in the code where an unexpected number of deletes are occurring. When the event occurs, all we have to go on is the SQL Server log which lists thousands of "DELETE FROM PROJECTS_FEATURE_CLASS WHERE OBJECTID IN (xxx)" statements within fraction of seconds from each other. The "xxx" is a single objectid. So, my question is... if using the api the code were to select a bunch of features and then execute a delete statement against the selection, would the database log each feature delete separately? We aren't finding a loop in the code so thought maybe it's more about how a single delete of multiple features would be handled in the database. Again, I hope that makes sense. And thanks for any help. Mary Ellen

Thanks, Mark. That's good to hear. Has anyone heard when it might be released? We're trying to do some planning so it's important for us to know if it is next week or next year. Even the expected quarter would help. Thanks.

Thank you for pointing me to that information, and so quickly. Unless I'm misinterpreting the statements, this is good news for us. Thanks, Mary Ellen

Hi. Does anyone know how I might use the credit estimator tool to estimate the cost of storing 8Gig of photos in AGOL? These would be photos attached to features in a feature service/layer; not loaded individually. Would it be calculated through the feature layer estimate option or files option. There's a huge cost difference between the two. Or another option altogether. Thanks for the help.

Hi. I love the March addition of showing scale dependent visibility in services added to a web map; that is, where layers that aren't visible are shown in a lighter gray. However, when I add a second service to my web map, non-visible layers no longer show up in the light gray. Is this expected behavior? Is it just me, my browser, a coincidence? Any help is appreciated. Single map service in web map: Two services in web map (no change in extent): Thanks. EDIT: I've noticed that the above seems to only occur when adding layers to the web map. If I save the map and open it later, the layers that aren't visible are gray as expected. Thanks.

Hi. For us it turned out to be a problem with the SSL certificate on our server. Since we were going through ArcGIS Online, they required an intermediate certificate, I don't know if that applies to a Portal installation and configuration. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Thanks again for the information. It helps to know from where that name and email address is coming. Hopefully it's selecting the first one alphabetically and we can make some adjustments to use the account we want to use. Thanks again.

Hi. Thanks for the information. Just so I'm clear - in the automatically generated email is the name and email address of someone who works in our organization (as contact info). You are saying that I cannot change that name and email address to someone, say, who still works for us? Any idea where that name/email is coming from? It's a reference to a specific person so that's why I'm puzzled. Thanks.

Hi. Can anyone point me to the instructions for changing the contact information in the email sent to users who change their account information (e.g. passwords)? This is the email notification that comes from "The ArcGIS Online Accounts Team." Thanks.

Hi. I just learned, and confirmed, that dates in AGOL map viewer popups and "show table" are displaying one day behind the actual date in the attribute. I verified it against map services deployed through our ArcGIS Server servers and displayed through the AGOL map viewer. According to the reporter, Esri says this is a new bug and the recommendation from esri is to convert date fields to text fields until the issue is resolved. Unfortunately, that is not practical for us. So, has anyone heard of this issue or know of any information about it? Thanks.
