We ended up calling our GPS vendor and they were able to get it installed on the Mesa tablet. It turned out we had a bunch of apps/updates that were stalled out because of a setting in windows 10. I'm not exactly sure what they did to fix it. If I get a chance to ask them I'll let you know.

So you're using collector on a Mesa 2 tablet? We're looking into that as an option for an upcoming project, but we can't even get collector to install (says "pending" and just stalls out). We hope to be able to use collector on our Mesa 2 paired with a Carlson BrX6 receiver. We have a bunch of points there were collected with a trimble mapping grade GPS, and we're going to re-GPS the whole system using the Carlson to get better locations. I was hoping I could just use collector and "update" the feature location with the survey grade GPS.

I'm getting this a request constantly from my end users. They need to be able to turn multiple layers on/off at once, and they'd like the layers organized into groups because just having one big list of them is too cluttered.

I agree. We've been using Survey123 for less than a year and those survey points are really piling up. I think this could be solved by giving us access to the backend webmap that is being displayed on the Survey123 website. That way those of us that want just the original features could add/remove them as necessary.

I'm having this issue as well. It seems that I'm the only one that is able to export (I created/own the survey), but nobody else in our organization is able to. They are able to view the survey data via the Survey123 web interface, but their export button is greyed out.

We were having a similar issue and figured out that it was because one of the dates was being written using UTC time. We're in Pacific Time so it's UTC minus 8 hours for us. I'm guessing you'd be UTC minus 5. Based on that you'd still be getting dates on the 15th so I'm not really sure what is going on in your case. It might be defaulting to the whatever timezone was set in the database when it was originally spun up.

We've been mostly using Crystal Reports and connecting to our enterprise gdb via a odbc, but it seems you can't do that with hosted features (such as the ones created in with Survey123). A widget like the OP suggested would be a great addition in my opinion.

Ok thanks Phillip. I guess we'll have to look at trying some other method. Unfortunately the questions have to be large. It'd be nice if we could put some sort of a "label" or text that'd show only on the survey but not be included in the schema.

I have some field labels that are so large that they are pushing the header of the table down and covering up the rows in the table. I've tried swapping around the "label" and "hints" entries -- for example I moved the lengthy question that was in the label over to the hint and placed an abbreviated portion in the label location. The problem is when I go to the survey123 data viewer, the field names seem to be defaulting to whichever of those entries are the longest. I need the survey form itself to remain as-is (with the lengthy, detailed questions), but I need to be able to use the data viewer and I'm not sure what the order of priorities are for which xlsform field it uses as the field names for the viewer's columns.

Hi Kieren Tinning, did you ever find a solution for this? We're having the same issue. We'd like to bring the hosted layer table into crystal reports much the same as we do with our sql tables. ESRI tech support said the only likely solution for us would be to move the data off the hosted layer into our enterprise GDB, then repoint our survey to use the enterprise tables instead. I'm just apprehensive to do that because our survey is working right now, and it took foreeeeeeever to get it working well. I'm afraid of breaking the survey and having to start all over again creating/publishing it (not to mention making sure all of the enterprise settings are correct in order for the tables to be used in Survey123 -- hello "Supports ApplyEdits With Global Ids: true").

I find myself inadvertently rotating my map in the new version of Collector. I’d like an option to lock the map orientation so I don’t have to click the compass to reset it each time I zoom or pan.

Mmm probably not. I mostly use it to download municipal data that is publicly available, but might not have the export option enabled.

Where do you work and what is your role? Hi, my name is David Forbuss and I'm a GIS Technician at Rogue Valley Sewer Services in Central Point, OR. I also assist the Network Administrator with various IT activities. What GIS success have you had this year and what product did you use? We have recently migrated our organization to fully cloud based GIS using ArcGIS Enterprise/Portal, and the plethora of apps and software available (Collector, Workforce, Survey123 etc..). The response from our staff has been very positive, and new ideas of how to implement the apps are arising every day. What is your expertise (GIS related or not), and how can that help the community? My expertise is relating to the needs of the end user (because I used to be one!). This has been a tremendous help when developing new uses for Collector by our field crews.
