Surely the developers would have included the ability for the software to write a log file as it opens an APRX file. The end user could examine the log file then use the instructions from the post linked below to remove the corruption. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-questions/how-to-restore-a-corrupt-arcgis-pro-aprx/m-p/1009886/highlight/true#M35058

Do you think this setting in ArcGIS Server might have anything to do with the issue? Maybe not since you said it was working before. You have probably seen that both map documents and the JSON files behind online maps at times become corrupt. I'm assuming that if an MXD can be corrupted, so can an APRX file (if that's what you are creating the service from). Seems unlikely but maybe a possibility. Sometimes testing on a different mobile O/S is helpful. If Field Maps is running on iOS, try using an Android version, if possible. If you happen to have a Collector installation on a mobile device, you might give it a try on that. This can show that the problem is with Field Maps and not the rest of your system.

@EmanMohammed - I have looked around quite a bit for a GDB template intended for water treatment plants but have not found one. You have probably noticed that the VSD / PDF files within "WaterTreatmentPlant_Conceptual_DataModels.zip" can be used to create a GDB template, although that's not ideal.

The "search tool" returns only the first result from a layer. Why not have it function like any other search tool, where all results are presented? This problem also existed in Map Viewer Classic.

One option might be to convert the coded value domains to use the description for both the description and the code. There may be other requirements which I haven't thought of, making this an unreasonable solution. Another way to handle this would be: put the domain in a table of its own, use a join to retrieve and display the domain description then hide the two columns which display the domain codes. This would make for a second set of domains that would have to be maintained separately. Not ideal. The page linked below shows how ESRI stores domains. https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/manage-data/using-sql-with-gdbs/example-resolving-domain-codes-to-description-values.htm

Since there is no data model for water treatment plants, would it make sense to use one of the three Conceptual Water Treatment Plant diagrams (attached) to create feature classes / asset groups / asset types within the Water Distribution data model? Or should the Plant exist under its own commodity "Plant" domain? Thanks for any help.

Generally, the behavior of search functionality in every ESRI mobile app (ArcGIS app, Collector app, Field Maps app) on iOS has been inconsistent. I have been seeing this since the year 2012. Disable address searches on a map? Sometimes the app still returns address results. Sometimes searches against layers work, sometimes they do. My experience with Android is limited. Hoping this gets fixed permanently at some point.

Maybe in about five years we'll see this "enhancement".

A few more things to add. In the Field Maps (version 22.3.1 on iOS) app, behavior is normal. Behavior in the data table is also odd. The attached graphic shows this. Zero features but records are shown in the table? I opened ESRI case # 03338055 about this issue.

I have seen the same issue with hosted feature layers in AGOL. I used "Pro" to delete about 1500 records using the Delete Features GP tool. 5-10 minutes later they still show up in MapViewer Classic both on the map and in the table. MapViewer does not show the points on the map but shows them in the table. One hint that this is a barely supported operation is the lack of a Delete or Truncate function in AGOL. That's why I did this in Pro.

Ottar, Have you tried this workflow with the Android version of Field Maps with the logs enabled? Sometimes the Android version of Field Maps produces helpful log messages while the iOS version does not.

I don't know the answer but here's something to consider. Have you tried switching to "A custom attribute display" with the MapViewer Classic pop-up settings or using Form Builder in Map Viewer? I agree with you about the default area being displayed in Field Maps. Many times it is not helpful.

So this is an improvement over ArcMap, that we cannot switch between relative and absolute paths? This "idea" was posted 3.5 years ago. It would sound like we are stuck without the ability to switch. Have the people who designed this product never worked in a corporate environment?

BarrettLewis1: it sounds like you have found the solution which avoids the new system of Forms. Open the map in MapViewer Classic, choose which fields are to be editable in the pop-up configuration, save the map. When re-opening the map in the new MapViewer, watch for layer ordering that had gotten shifted around by MapViewer Classic. After saving in MapViewer Classic, I have had to come back to the new MapViewer, put the layer ordering back to the way it was then save again.

William, Are your web services coming from AGOL or from your ArcGIS Server instance? You might try turning on logging in Field Maps, clear the logs if necessary, reproduce the freeze then go look at the logs. If you are using ArcGIS Server, set logging to Debug then reproduce the error, then go look at the logs for that service or services. Generally speaking, the newest mobile app (currently Field Maps) has trouble spots where there is newer functionality. I have gone back to Collector or Collector Classic to get around problems with relationships. Sometimes one of those two apps will reveal something about a problem that the newest mobile app doesn't uncover. I don't know if the two older apps will help if you are using global IDs as the key to your relationships. Of course, Field Maps expressions won't be supported by the older apps. These are not ideal solutions but when I don't have a week for technical support to work on the issue, the older apps can be a Godsend. ESRI has pulled both Collector apps from the Google and iOS app stores so they can be hard to get.
