Sentinel-1 is a spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imaging system and mission from the European Space Agency and the European Commission. The mission launched and began collecting imagery in 2014. With the ability to see through cloud and smoke cover, and because it does not rely on solar illumination of the Earth's surface, Sentinel-1 is able to collect useful imagery in most weather conditions, during both day and night. This data is good for wide range of land and maritime applications, from mapping floods, to deforestation, to oil spills, and more. The newly introduced Sentinel-1 Explorer leverages a variety of ArcGIS capabilities to explore and begin to unlock the wealth of information that Sentinel-1 provides. HPMS is a national-level data collection program designed to assess the condition, performance, and usage of the United States’ roadways. The data is now published in Living Atlas and contains all states’ highway segments in one feature layer. The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps Annual Data Release has been available via Living Atlas for several years. This dataset is useful for understanding health aspects of communities at the county, state, and national levels.  The 2024 feature layer is now available in Living Atlas, leveraging the authoritative source: County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R), a program of the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. CHR&R provides a snapshot of the health of nearly every county in the nation. A wide range of factors influence how long and how well we live, including: opportunities for education, income, safe housing and the right to shape policies and practices that impact our lives and futures. Maps of where ecosystems could change can play a role in planning adaptation strategies for climate change. Recent climate projections indicate roughly 35% of the World Terrestrial Ecosystems (WTEs) that were originally modeled for 2015 could change by 2050. A collection of global layers at 1km resolution have been developed and are available via Living Atlas that show where terrestrial ecosystems are projected to change by 2050. Parcel boundaries, also known as cadastral boundaries, represent the defined edges of land borders on a map. The U.S. Parcel Boundary tile layer is a new addition to Living Atlas premium content. Made available in collaboration with Esri partner, Regrid, the Regrid Nationwide Parcel Boundaries for the United States is now available via Living Atlas. This layer will be regularly updated and covers urban, suburban, and rural areas, providing a complete view of land parcel distribution. The layer can be used to visualize property boundaries in any map. The layer pop-up provides address, acreage, and APN information. ArcGIS Living Atlas provides foundational elevation layers that all ArcGIS users consume in their maps, scenes, and applications. Terrain3D provides a default global elevation surface in scenes whether you are using ArcGIS Pro or ArcGIS Online Scene Viewer. Similarly, World Hillshade provides a default relief background in various basemaps (such as Topographic, Terrain with Labels) that are available across the ArcGIS system. A better understanding of WUI areas can help identify vulnerability of structures and people to wildfire, understand habitat loss and fragmentation, and help minimize the spread of zoonotic diseases. The new Global Wildland-Urban Interface layer is the first of its kind in Living Atlas to document the WUI on a global scale and will serve as a companion to the other wildfire related content in Living Atlas. The Group on Earth Observations Global Water Sustainability (GEOGLOWS) initiative has recently upgraded its global streamflow model to version two. The GEOGLOWS 10-Day forecast layer is now available in Living Atlas. ArcGIS Living Atlas provides foundational elevation layers that all ArcGIS users consume in their maps, scenes, and applications. We are excited to share that the Terrain 3D, TopoBathy 3D, World Hillshade and World Hillshade (Dark) layers are now enhanced with bare earth elevation data from Maxar’s Precision3D (P3D) for parts of the globe. The Precision3D Digital Terrain Models (DTM’s) are 50 cm resolution that are derived from Maxar’s extensive archive of high-resolution satellite imagery using stereo photogrammetry techniques where vegetation and structures were removed from data using automated methods.   For more information, see Maxar's Precision3D available in Esri's World Elevation 3D and Hillshade Layers by @RajinderNagi.
