Maps of where ecosystems could change can play a role in planning adaptation strategies for climate change. Recent climate projections indicate roughly 35% of the World Terrestrial Ecosystems (WTEs) that were originally modeled for 2015 could change by 2050. A collection of global layers at 1km resolution have been developed and are available via Living Atlas that show where terrestrial ecosystems are projected to change by 2050.
