I have a javascript web application at http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Monument/gis/index.htm?Title=WSDOT%20Monument%20Mapping%20Engine%20v4.0 that works fairly well; however, the button you would expect to see on the right corner of the infoWindow does not display. Any ideas on why it is not showing up? Thanks, Rich

Esri is phasing out the complimentary use of Bing Maps in its ArcGIS products. The final version of ArcGIS Explorer 2012 as well as other Esri products will be "Bing Ready", which will allow you to input a Bing Maps key that you obtain directly from Microsoft. After you input the key you will be able to use Bing maps as you did previously. Mark No Bing Maps in its ArcGIS? Sounds like a bad mistake, unless then plan to replace it with Google Maps. rich

The import utility for ArcGIS coverage .E00 files can be found at C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Bin or C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Bin. Your looking for Import71.exe. This can be directly. In ArcCatalog, you can find this command in the 'ArcView 8x Tools' toolbar, where it is called Import From Interchange File. This should work for v6 to v7.1 E00 files. If you have a ArcInfo coverages (to include the .\info folder and the .\youcoverage folder), add the coverage into ArcMap and copy the data to a feature class or shapefile using Data | Export. Note you do not need an ArcInfo license to do this. Hope this helps.

Hello, this issue is also seen with ArcGIS 10 SP 4. Specifically, REclassify, Reclass by Ascii file, Reclass by Table, and Lookup all fail with some data inputs (e.g., TIFF). If you close ArcGIS and restart 25% of the time one of the above tools will work, however no pattern was seen (e.g., Reclass by Ascii File in the 3D toolbox would work but the one in the Spatial Analysit toolbox would not). Sounds like ESRI is not fully supporting TIFF image, one of the most popular formats for distributing satellite data. I'm looking for a workaround on this. Found that if I created a new file geodatabase and used that as the output location forthe Reclass by Table vs. outputing to a TIF it works.

To have more control on how the NDVI values are calculated, and to use the equation in modelbuilder you can use the Raster Calculator tool. Equation would be as follows for a simple NDVI. ((Float("%Near IR Band%") - Float("%Red Band%")) / (Float("%Near IR Band%") + Float("%Red Band%")) This would return a FLOAT data set with values between -1.0 and 1.0 and assumes the input bands are 8 bit unsigned. To covert the values back an 8 bit unsigned raster suitalbe for use with other imagery when doing classification (e.g., maximum likelehood) the above would become: Int(((Float("%Near IR Band%") - Float("%Red Band%")) / (Float("%Near IR Band%") + (Float("%Red Band%"))) + 1 ) * 127.5 ) This would return a INT data set with values between 0 and 255. Enjoy,

From ESRI Support Unfortunately, ArcGIS Image Server MicroStation client V8 XM, http://resources.arcgis.com/gallery/file/image-management/details?entryID=5C1D61A4-1422-2418-8827-396FA6AB7F05, is the last one developed. There are no newer clients being developed for MicroStation (or other software). MicroStation v8i does support Web Mapping Services (WMS), so if you publish your imagery via ArcGIS Server as a WMS service you can now add it into v8i. Rich

Anyone know how to use this with the Javascript AGS api? Specifically. We create a legend at startup with: legend = new esri.dijit.Legend({map:map},"legendDiv"); legend.startup(); and in the body of the document we have <div id="legendDiv" dojoType="dijit.layout.ContentPane" name="my map" style="overflow:auto;width:178px;height:250px;vertical-align:top;"></div> The discussion implies I can use CSS Styles to change the default name displayed by the dijit.Legend by modifying esriLegendServiceLabel. Where is this done and how does the digit know about it?

Well, our IT department upgraded the server that does our DNS hostname lookup and put us on a faster network, now every thing is SLOWER and I'm seeing the same issue reported regarding delays in updating the ESRILicense.txt file when lmstat is run. I've tried adding the port number, 27000, and this does not appear to speed anything up. I just tried using the IP address vs. the server name and this does not appear to resolve the issue. This behavior began about a month ago on two different XP SP 3 computers. One other source of delay is McAfee and your viras scanning software. Other change is we applied SP 1 for ArcGIS License Server 10, I wonder if that has an impact?

I have been working the v10 license issue also, two items of note: 1. when setting up a v10 license server in Windows XP and 7 you continue to have the Windows Firewall issue, where you need to edit the services.txt file (i.e., at v9 would be .lic files) and lock the vendor daemon to a static port (see http://resources.arcgis.com/content/kbase?fa=articleShow&d=26134). Note there is a v10 version of this HowTo, but that one is not as detailed). 2. Where Have All The Licenses Gone v1.1 available from ArcScripts still works with ArcGIS 10. To make it work with v10 you need to replace the lmutil.exe file provided with the ArcScripts download with the v11.6.1.0 lmutil file provided with the v10 ArcGIS license manager. Enjoy,

There is also a free download from the old arcscripts site that gives you the application WhereHaveAllTheLicensesGone (http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=14222). This still works for obtaining license status information, but to update it to v10 you must replace the lmutil.exe provided in the download with a fresh one from C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\License10.0\bin (i.e., you need to update lmutil.exe to version 11.6.1.0). You could put the URL to the PDF in the attribute table that is returned by the identify tool. If formatted correctly it will be displayed as a hyperlink in the pop up result window. http://arcscripts.esri.com/details.asp?dbid=15939
