Hi Lou, have a look at this announcement: International Women’s Day Release Pay particular attention to Input Masks. A mask such as 9000.9 will for example allow figures up to 9999 with one decimal. A mas such as 9.9 will allow figures up to 9 with one decimal and 99.9, figures up to 100 with one decimal. The input mask implementation is only present in versions of Connect 1.2.56 or newer. In the app, you will need 1.2.82 or newer. We JUST got input masks. At the moment, they are more reliable on Windows, Mac and iOS. On Android they do not tend to work so well. If you find things not working as expected, let us know. We cannot fix what we do not know. Will fix issues based on feedback provided. Thanks a lot, Ismael

Hi Mark, you will not see the new barcode question type in XLS Survey files you may have created in the past. Even if you run the latest version of Connect, this question type will not show if your Surveys were authored prior to 1.2.56. To get the barcode question, create a brand new survey using the Template as a starting point. Do not use the Basic or Sampe Forms. The new type of question will show in Excel and work in Connect as shown below. Please ensure you are using 1.2.56 or newer for this to work. Barcode questions are supported in your phone with Survey123 1.2.82 or newer. As described in our International Women's Release announcement, the barcode implementation is premature. To help us improve, please provide us with your feedback in GeoNet, indicating what device and barcode type you are trying to scan. Thanks, Ismael

Hi Nicole Ueberschär Steven Michalek The 1.2.82 update of the Survey123 app is now available in the iTunes and Google Play stores. This new update should take care of the External Selects issue. Thanks for your patience. Ismael

Hi Nicole, I thought this could be done through a calculation as in the attached excel file, but this stops working when I change the second question type to a select_one. So for now this does not work. Let us research a bit more. Ismael

Hi, not at this moment, but we are looking at ways to enable this possibility without compromising the security of the data. Thanks for your suggestion. We will keep this in mind. Ismael

Hi, not until too long ago we created domains for cascading selects, but we received feedback indicating that this did not make sense. Essentially, we had people saying that the domain in apps other than Survey123 would not behave as expected, because it would show more choices than it should. The other input we got is that cascading selects are often used with very large lists of choices (we have seen lists of up to 41 thousand choices being used in a cascading select). When the feature service was loaded into ArcGIS, these domains did not make the apps happy. Finally, creating domains on cascading selects caused some issues to Portal for ArcGIS users, so we ended up not creating domains for cascading selects. To keep the user experience simple, we decided not to expose options to let you control this setting, although it is something that we can consider if you think that in your case it is necessary to create a domain. ismael

With your ArcGIS Organizational account you get AppStudio for ArcGIS Basic. With Basic you can use all the features in the appstsudio.arcgis.com web site. You can also download AppStudio for ArcGIS Desktop Edition, although some features will be disabled. If you want to use AppStudio for ArcGIS Desktop Edition to its full extent, you will need the Standard license, which you can get by either: - Creating a new free ArcGIS Online Trial (60 days) - Purchasing a one year subscription as a for fee add-on to your EDN subscription, or if you do not have EDN purchasing a Standard license alone. Contact your Esri representative for details. Once you have the license, your ArcGIS Online organization will be provisioned with it. The administrator of your organization will be able to assign the license to you so everything is in place when you start AppStudio for ArcGIS Desktop Edition. For more info, check this help topic: Licensing AppStudio for ArcGIS—AppStudio for ArcGIS (Desktop Edition) | ArcGIS

Hi, what is the version of Connect you are using? Did you try closing the login dialog and opening it again after you define the Portal connection in the login dialog? Open Connect. Open login dialog. If the title is pointing to your Portal, attempt to login. If pointing to ArcGIS Online, then tap on top-right corner to access the settings. Add your new Portal URL and tap on the top-left corner to go back to the dialog. Then exit the login dialog without attempting to login. Then open the login dialog again and login. We have found that the OAuth dialog is not refreshing properly immediately after you set the Portal URL Ismael

To close this thread. The constraint syntax above is correct, but the expression is not executing in your case because your question is operating within a repeat. This issue is in our backlog at the moment (constraints do not work when within a repeat).

Hi, technically, you can have nested repeats. Nested repeats in your Survey translate into nested related tables or layers in the Feature Service. Repeats, and nested repeats in particular, are not completely implemented yet in Survey123 for ArcGIS, so you will need to explore what works for now. Here are some glitches that you will find: - Relevant expressions, calculations and required questions within a repeat are ignored. - The Map Viewer (ArcGIS.com and Portal) has difficulties showing nested related tables. ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap are probably the best tools to navigate nested related tables. Completing the implementation of repeats and nested repeats is in our road map, but at the moment you should be aware of the limitations. You will need some trial and error for now. Addressing the issues above is in our backlog but we have not set a clear delivery date just yet. Stay tuned. Ismael

Hi Ted, update on https issues you found before: We got to the bottom of the https issue you reported and will address it in our next release of the app (planned for around March 3). For completeness, the issue was that you first published your Survey as http, and then switched the security to https only. This caused the app to break because the Survey was already on http but the ArcGIS Online organization would no longer support http calls. In the next update of the app, a fix has been added so the security settings of your ArcGIS organization are double-checked before submit. Thanks for reporting the problem. as far as the 400 error, can you confirm if you are using images in your Survey? These images may be causing the problem. It has been reported that this error pops when you are submitting a Survey with images over a cellular network. If submitting over a reliable WIFI, the submit happens correctly. We are also working on this so we can provide a fix in the next update immediately after March 3. Ismael
