Hi Craig, thanks for the reply. I'll ask my crew to see if they are connected when this occurs. We are using the Workforce app on iOS and the iPad has the ability to connect via the cell network in the field.

We just recently started using Workforce for our Bulk Refuse Collection and our field crew has run into issues at times where when they hit the Start button at the bottom of their assignment in the app the message "Unable to Start Assignment" appears on that button. We have only used Workforce previously a few of times when we had been flushing our water mains the last couple of years and have never encountered this issue. I've tried searching the FAQ and Help for Workforce, and here on GeoNet as well, and I can't seem to find out any information on what could be causing this issue or how to troubleshoot. Any ideas??

We are seeing the same issue here too. It hangs up once I put in my credentials for ArcGIS Online it hangs up and just shows the loading with the 4 blue bars. I've started ArcGIS Pro and I can open it but do not have access to any of my services on ArcGIS Online. I've also logged into the Workforce website and can open a project but it hangs up there . . .

I was getting the following error today when trying to send updates in the field today in Collector Classic on the iPad: It's trying to write to a feature service that we have hosted on our ArcGIS for Server (10.4) and the iPad is 4G enabled. In one location I was getting about a 50% success rate in sending an update, and when it failed and I would get this error message. I moved to another location about 300 feet away and was just getting the update failed and error message every time. I did some searching on the internet and here on GeoNet and haven't seen anything specifically reference this error. I'm at a loss as to what to try and troubleshoot to fix this. Has anyone seen this error or knows what is is referencing???

Hi James, Yes we did test to see if we could edit with other applications. Not knowing where the error was coming from we wanted to see if we could just do simple edits to the table, so I brought the related table directly from our SDE Enterprise database into ArcMap and was able to edit attributes in the table without any issues. I then created a brand new feature service hosted on our ArcGIS Server of just the feature class and its related table, brought it into an ArcGIS Pro project and was able to edit attributes in the related table there also. I also created a new web map including this new feature service and was able to add a new record into the related table using the Collector app successfully. Then just to see what would happen I added the Survey123 custom URL scheme we have been using for our previously working survey into the custom popup of this new web map, called out to the survey and got the 401 Unauthorized error again when I tried to submit. Lastly I went to Survey123 Connect and tried to create a new survey based off of this new feature service and got the 401 Unauthorized error again.

We have a survey (developed in Survey123 Connect) that writes data directly to a related table in our SDE enterprise database. The application has been working for approximately a year. Today, one of our field crew stopped by our office as he was receiving this error when trying to submit a survey on his tablet: Several of us tested the survey with our different accounts and devices, and received the same error. A couple of weeks ago I made a change to this survey (added an additional choice to a question) and republished this survey. Today was the first time our field worker had tried to use it. Assuming this might be the cause of the issue I changed the survey back to the way it was (removed the new choice) and attempted to republish and then received this error: I became curious and was wondering if I could replicate the creation of this survey from an existing feature service. The attempt immediately returned this error: My co-workers and I tried some other troubleshooting ideas and found we can submit surveys that write to a service if it's hosted on ArcGIS Online, and we can create surveys from feature services that are hosted on ArcGIS Online. I downloaded the Survey123ConnectClassic and Survey123Classic apps to see if the newer versions might be our issue. Using the same workflow, I received the same errors every step of the way. We also looked at editing feature attributes directly in a web map on ArcGIS Online as well as in Collector and had no errors there. We also were able to publish new services to our server from ArcMap with no errors as well. It appears if we try to do anything with Survey123 where the application is accessing our SDE enterprise database on our Server site, we receive this 401 Unauthorized error. We checked the existing permissions on the table and related feature dataset and classes and all were set up as before when the application was working. My colleagues and I spent most of our day searching for causes and troubleshooting the issue. We had no success in finding a remedy for this error. We are hoping the GeoNet community can provide help. Our enterprise SDE database, ArcGIS for Server and our webadaptor are all at version 10.4 We are using ArcMap 10.6 and Pro 2.3.1. All our office personnel run Windows 10 and our field crews are using Windows 10 ruggedized tablets and our server setup uses ADFS.

I've re-added my Arcade expressions and saved my web map and checked my web app. The layer loads now and the Arcade expression shows up in my pop-up as it previously did. Looks like the bug is now fixed!

No, I've had that expression in there for a few months now. I usually check this app every morning since I have a fair number of inspectors that use it regularly and I only just got that error this morning. I tried to do some troubleshooting to replicate the error and it only seems to show up when I use Web App Builder to make an app. If I use a pre-configured template I don't see that error.

I have a web application that I created well over a year ago that would not load one of my layers this morning. I then checked the web map that it is based off on AGOL and it loaded fine on there. So then after some troubleshooting, I found that this layer contained an Arcade expression and that was why it wasn't loading. Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks Robert, I was afraid that would be the case. A previous co-worker of mine did that for the My Government Services solution that was offered a few years ago, but he's not here anymore and I'm not that confident in my coding abilities at this time.

We are looking to deploy the My Trash Services Local Government Solution which uses the Near Me widget in the web application that is created. When you enter an address, it zooms to the buffer around the address and you choose the trash, yard waste, or recycling collection to get more information about it. Once you make your selection, the polygon of the collection area is highlighted in the bright cyan color we've all come to know in love when we select a feature in ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro. Because I've only drawn the polygons over the exact parcels that we collect from it looks like a jumbled mess at this scale. I've set all my symbology so the polygon have no color in either the fill or the outline, but because of the selection highlight it shows up anyway. I think it's very distracting and something the public, for whom this application is intended, does not need to see. So to be able to disable the selection color would be very useful.

We are looking to deploy the My Trash Services Local Government Solution and in the web application that is created it uses the Near Me widget to list all the services at and around a location that is either typed in the search bar or chosen on the map. Once it zooms to the buffer distance that is set, you can choose any of the services to get more detailed information on the site or service you have chosen. In doing so, it highlights the feature in the bright cyan color that we all know and love from ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro. Here is an example of one of our trash collection polygons: I have drawn the polygons so it only includes the parcels that we collect, and I have set the symbology so that the fill and outline of the polygon have no color so it can't be seen. But when it is selected it is highlighted anyway. I can set the buffer so it can only be small and just show the address selected, but that limits the drop off sites that are located nearby and only shows the curbside collection services we provide. I noticed that this also happens in the web map as well, so is there a way I can disable the selection color or change it's appearance so it's not so bright? I think it's very distracting, especially when zoomed out when you have your buffer set large enough to capture nearby drop-off sites. And since this solution is intended for the public, I don't think they need to see these polygon boundaries at all.

If you are using an ArcGis Online basemap in your web map, then it's projecting your data in the Web Mercator coordinate system. I've always found that the map services I've published seem to reproject fine, but when you use a feature service it always seemed misaligned. Maybe the feature services retain the original coordinate system of the data, I don't really know. All you have to do is change the coordinate system projection to Web Mercator on the data frame in your .mxd and republish your feature service and everything should line up perfectly now. Here's another thread that goes into more detail: https://community.esri.com/thread/121642

Thanks for your help Craig. You're right, a Windows 10 app is exactly what I need and I hope that you guys will resume your development sometime soon. I will send feedback to the alias as well.
