I think it would be very useful to automatically field calculate an attribute of a hosted feature service when a new feature is created. Something like Attribute Rules in ArcGIS Pro for services in an Enterprise Geodatabase, but for hosted feature services in Portal. For example, we have created a Workforce project hosted in Portal and those services live there. There are additional attributes we have added to this service that we would like to use in an Operations Dashboard and it would be great to be able to have them dynamically update when a new feature is created.

I have a group layer that I've published to our ArcGIS Server, with one of the layers referencing a point feature class from our SDE database so it will be updated with all the additions and edits that are performed. In a web map I have this layer unchecked by default, since it has a lot of points and can make the map quite noisy. This is how it looks like in the Classic Map Viewer content menu: When I open the same web map in the New Map Viewer I cannot figure out how to expand the group layer and access the sub-layers to turn the point layer on/off: When I click on the group layer it just displays the properties of the layers that are checked by default, and I've looked at all the other options that are available and can't see how to access the sub-layers. I've tried other group layers that I've published to our Sever in the New Map Viewer and I'm seeing the same issue in accessing sub-layers. I don't have a lot of experience with the new map viewer, but me and my co-workers couldn't see a way to access the sub-layers. Am I missing something or are group layers coming from Server not supported in the New Map Viewer?

We started seeing this same error too in a survey that we have embedded in a dashboard to edit records from a list in the same dashboard. It was only on one record, so I downloaded that record as an excel file and could not see any special characters. I tried to replicate the error when creating a new record by hitting tab or return to try and introduce a special character in the data before submitting, but I couldn't replicate the error. Has anyone found what could be causing this error? I'm not too worried about it since this is the first time we've seen it in almost a year of using this dashboard and we can still interact with the data outside of the dashboard, but I'd like to know how to prevent it if we can.

We are about to create a Workforce project that will have a large number of assignment types, let's say over 100. We cannot currently filter by assignment type in the Dispatcher web map easily. We would have to type in the assignment type manually to filter through all the assignments we will have. Is there an easy way that we could filter by the assignment type in Web AppBuilder if I bring in the Dispatcher map into a web app, say like in a drop down list or set up a clickable list somehow?

Thanks Craig, I was afraid that was the case in Workforce. Hopefully other users with large numbers of assignments can share what they are doing to accomplish this. I did find this Idea on filtering by assignment type here on GeoNet and upvoted it to help get it on a release schedule soon!

We are in the process of creating a project with a large number of assignment types, say around 100 types. Is there an easier way of filtering the assignments by type in the Dispatcher map after they are created other than just typing the assignment type in the search bar? And if we can't do it on the Dispatcher map itself, is there some other product (like Web AppBuilder or Experience Builder) that we can bring in the Dispatcher map and filter it that way? What has worked for others that have a lot of assignment types to sort through?

Hi Gabriel, I'm not sure if this is the best way, but the way I update features from a table is using the Attribute Assistant in ArcMap. We have fire hydrant inspections that go into a related table off of the hydrant feature class, and I usually use Attribute Assistant before I reconcile & post the edits to the parent version of our database. This updates certain attributes that I have chosen on the hydrants with information collected during the inspection. There is a bit of a learning curve to Attribute Assistant and it is a more manual process than running a script, but once you get the hang of it and get everything set up right then it doesn't take long to update the attributes of the feature class. Good luck! Brian

Nope, none whatsoever. I didn't have a whole lot of time to devote to this and frankly was at the end of my rope when I posted this. My CAD guy says he can work with what I give him and make it look the way he wants so we have left it here for now.

Thanks Michael for your help. Since I'm not too good with Access, I exported the tables I needed as an Excel files from Access and then used the ArcGIS Pro GP tool Excel to Table to put them in a .gdb. Then I was able to use the Create CCTV Pipeline Features tool and it generated the content as expected with no issues. I have also worked with some past CCTV inspection data we received from our contractor. They also had the ConitionID and InspectionID fields as an autonumber as well, so maybe this is a common practice? In that case, perhaps the online help for those running 32-bit Microsoft Office should be revised with another solution that does not involve the Table to Table or Table to Geodatabase GP tools because they will not generate output useable by the Create CCTV Pipeline Features GP tool.

Every so often I get asked by our CAD guy to export parcel owner labels in certain areas of the city in which we will be doing work, as he will be drawing up plans for that project. I use a VBScript label expression on the parcel layer to get the relevant information he needs and in the format that he likes, and when I convert the labels to annotation it appears as he & I want it to look - the text block to be centered and then the center of the text block inserted at the center of each parcel: IN ARCMAP: IN ARCGIS PRO: But when I use the Export to CAD GP tool it seems to ignore all the work I've done, more so in ArcGIS Pro, in getting the labels to appear as we want them: IN ARCMAP: IN ARCGIS PRO: I've played around with as many settings as I can in converting the labels to annotation and exporting to CAD and don't seem to be getting anywhere. My CAD guy says he can work with it in Civil 3D to get it the way he wants, but it seems like something I should be able to do on my end. Any ideas on how to get these labels to show up in CAD like they do in both ArcMap & ArcGIS Pro?

I don't know, this was sample data that was provided with the CCTV Manager solution and I'm not that proficient in Access. Is there a way to tell if I open the .mdb in Access?

Our organization is attempting to use CCTV Manager to display the results of our sewer main inspections we receive from our contractor. I installed the Utility Solutions toolbox (version 2.2.4) into ArcGIS Pro (version 2.5) as well as downloaded the sample data to play around with and learn how to use the CCTV tools. We quickly found out we couldn't use the Import Access Tables GP tool because we are still running 32-bit Microsoft Office 365, so digging into the Frequently Asked Questions of the CCTV Manager help I found the workaround: So then I went into ArcMap (version 10.7.1) and ran the Create File GDB GP tool to create a new file geodatabase and then ran the Table to Table GP tool to transfer all the tables from the Sample_v6.mdb to this new FGDB. I then returned to ArcGIS Pro and tried to run the Generate CCTV Pipe Features GP tool, but received the following errors: So then I opened up the attribute tables of both the INSPECTIONS and CONDITIONS table and this is what I found: It seems like the Table to Table tool turned the InspectionID field in the INSPECTIONS table and the ConditionsID field in the CONDITIONS table into an Object ID field, which I cannot use for the Generate CCTV Pipe Features tool. I did some research and found that others had used the Table to Geodatabase GP tool to transfer the tables from the .mdb to .gdb, so I tried that too and got the same result. Not finding any solutions, I decided to try and change the Aliases of the Object ID fields to 'Object ID' and recreate the InspectionID field in the INSPECTIONS table and the ConditionsID field in the CONDITIONS table and then field calculate the values from the Object ID fields. I then ran the Generate CCTV Pipe Features GP tool and it seems to run and give the desired output as expected. Finally I tried the same procedure with the other sample data given and for the Sample_v7.mdb it worked without issues, but with the ITpipes_v1.5.43.mdb I had the same issues with the exact same fields. So I was just wondering if I am doing anything wrong or if there is a better way to transfer these tables from .mdb to .gdb where it will just add the Object IDs without messing with the original data?

I finally found a way to fix this issue. I downloaded a FGDB of the hosted feature service, brought the feature classes into ArcMap and symbolized the same as the feature service, and then re-published the feature service. Lo and behold the thousand separator commas have disappeared! I guess I'll have to use this workflow from now on to update this feature service.

I have an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service where I keep track of the last time we milled and re-paved a street (I call the field Reconstructed). The field is a short interger field and when I did my edits in ArcGIS Pro it all seemed to show up as expected, and as I have done for the last couple of years. But when I went to my web map where I have this layer contained and the new data I entered all have the thousand separator column everywhere. So the first thing I think of is to check the popup configuration to make sure the thousand separator box is unchecked and I found that it is indeed unchecked, just as I had previously set it up. I've tried bringing this layer into a new web map and playing with the configurations and saving the new web map, to no avail. I've also played with with the visualization settings on the layer itself to configure the popups, and that doesn't work either. I'm at a loss as to why I cannot seem to get rid of these separator commas and would appreciate any other ideas I could try.

We have a project in Workforce that we are using for our Bulk Refuse Collection. When I set it up originally I had included a parcel layer that came from our ArcGIS Server that would label the street address inside the parcel when zoomed in really close in the Workforce app on the iPad. This was the only layer that came from our server and would cause our worker to be prompted a second time for credentials when he initially opened the project because it sees that layer as secure. So, trying to make life easier for our field crew, I decided to replace it with a similar layer that would be an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service. So I replaced it in both the Dispatcher & Worker maps on the Workforce website project settings page and configured the labels on the layer in the web map setups and it seemed to work as expected there and saved each web map. When I open the project and it uses the Dispatcher map, the labels show up as expected there too. But, when I open the Worker map in the application and zoom in, the labels do not appear. In looking in the help for Workforce I see it mentioned that you can save the labels in the web map and on the layers as well. So I went ahead and saved it on both and the labels are still not showing up in the application. Any help on things I could try would be appreciated, I couldn't find much in any of the searches that I've tried. Worst comes to worse I can go back to my layer that comes from our Server.
