I created a completely new enterprise geodatabase and then followed your steps and it worked just fine. There had to have been something in the other database preventing the copy. Thanks. I will mark your solution as the answer.

HI. Yah. The steps he outlined are exactly what I did. So, I will end up having to open up a technical support case. But, being Friday, I will not be doing that till next week. I hate opening up cases on anything related to parcel fabric because the first level techs will never just forward to a person who knows how the fabric works. They always go through so many inconsequential steps because they have no clue about the fabric... Just makes me dread this....

I am not sure what you mean by "Assuming you do not have open version"? Does that mean that all versions are reconsiled and posted? If that is not the case then it should still publish but only the default version, I would think. Or do you mean that there cannot be open connections to the database being copied?

Turns out the copy parcels should be the solution but it fails, and the error message says "operation attempted on an empty geometry. The fabric was a completely functional fabric.

Disregard this post. I found the solution in the parcel toolbox. The tool to use is simply "Copy Parcels."

I have two Enterprise Geodatabases, both are on the same server and are branch versioned to enable editing through services. I would like to move my entire parcel fabric datasets from the one to the other. Can someone point me to a good reference to complete this seemlessly?

I am working in a completely different environment now, and already adapted my work flow, so I cannot be sure if that is still a problem.

When ready to create a traverse that has a ground to grid correction required, the process is to hover over the icon, and then select one of the two options: 1) Enter the ground direction and distance and then draw it, or 2) draw the ground line and grid line. I would like to add a third option: 3) Select line with appropriate grid correction already applied. Not sure if wording is good, but what I mean is that if I have a line with good cogo and positioning already, I should be able to have the program determine the correct ground to grid correction that would make the cogo line I selected work.

This did NOT fix the issue. I am going to open up a trouble ticket and I will report back here afterwards with summary.

It says versioned. And the connection says versioned. And it lets me edit, but does not allow me to create or change versions. I am going to try copying the dataset to a database that is already working in branch and see if that works there...

I remember those settings when publishing my parcel fabric, but I couldn't find them when creating this service. I just looked, and I still do not see them. There must be a problem in the geodatabase??

I have been using branch versioning for a while for my parcel fabric. And now I wanted to use this sort of feature service for more of my data layers. I have a SQL server database, and have successfully created a database connection, with a geodatabase connection type of "branch versioning." And I have been able to actually edit using the feature service that I created. My only problem is that I cannot seem to change from the default version and create any additional versions. When I right click on the data tab to try to manage the versions, it is grayed out. See below: When I go to the connection properties, this is what I show: I am not sure what I missed in the process of setting this up. Any ideas? Thanks, Matt Syvertson

I am trying to customize my database to include better quality control. There are some fields that I never want null. So, I go to "field design" and attempt to unselect the "Allow NULL" option in the fields I would like to never have blank, but they are all "grayed out" and I cannot change them. See the screen shot below: Any ideas how I can fix this issue?

Hello Brynda (and all), I opened a tech support case for this problem, and it was reported as a bug. It is funny that yours worked OK, Brynda. But, the "crux" of the bug has to do with Javascript. Here is the link: https://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/QlVHLTAwMDE0MTI0OQ== They blame it on Javascript 3.x. But the other thing it mentions is the State Plane versus Web Mercator issue. But when I create a brand new app, using a web mercator base map and no other layers, the problem still persists.
