Hi Lindsay, It is most definitely the latter. This very question is answered in our FAQ page here: Frequently asked questions—ArcGIS StoryMaps | Documentation . How long will the classic Esri Story Maps be available? As Esri moves forward with the new ArcGIS StoryMaps, story authors will be able to create new stories with the classic templates for a full year after the initial release of ArcGIS StoryMaps, until July 2020. After July 2020, the classic templates will enter a two-year period of extended support. During this time, you will be able to edit classic stories that have already been created, but you will not be able to create new stories with the classic templates. After July 2022, the classic templates will enter the mature support phase. At this time the builders will be fully disabled, but stories you have shared will continue to be accessible to you and your audience. After July 2024, the classic templates will be retired. However, this does not mean your stories will become unavailable. The classic stories you've made and shared will continue to be available after this date. ArcGIS StoryMaps is the next-generation storytelling tool for the ArcGIS platform, and story authors are encouraged to use this new tool to create stories. For more information about the road map for StoryMaps, see the Product road map page. Please note that we do not have any plans to take down any of the stories that you have already authored using the templates or will continue to do so indefinitely. We're offering extended support till 2022 so that stories you have created will be viewed as they were intended. This is what my colleague inferred with the statement in the brackets: even though your existing story map URLs will still work indefinitely. Let me know if that helps, Aravind

Hi Leif, Just a quick update on the lack of layer clustering in the web maps of a sidecar: ArcGIS StoryMaps uses the 4.x version of the JavaScript API and the map viewer application that is used to create webmaps use 3.x. So, this might explain the disconnect between web maps in ArcGIS Online vs StoryMaps. The ability to view feature layers with clustering is not available yet but is on the roadmap for the 4.x API. Hi Leif, Is the web map you have created shared publicly so we can access it to investigate the properties of? Are the map note layers using a custom picture marker symbol for the points/lines/areas? If so, do you know if the server you're requesting it from has CORS enabled on it to allow cross domain requests? Thanks, Aravind

Hi Benjamin Mittler‌, In the August update to ArcGIS StoryMaps, we have modified the experience to interacting with embeds inline. Your readers can now click on the embed directly and start interacting with it right away as opposed to the previous experience where you had to toggle the interaction. Hi Jennifer, In the August update to ArcGIS StoryMaps, we now look at the item details page of ArcGIS applications like Survey123 forms, Dashboards, Configurable apps (incl. the classic templates) and web appbuilder apps and display the app's title, description and thumbnail on the card. So, you can keep the integrity of your metadata The ability to update the title and description of the embed cards is in the roadmap and will be available very shortly. Thank you, Aravind

Hi Lang, In our August update to ArcGIS StoryMaps, we now allow authors to add an <iframe> code to the embeds. This means you can customize the Soundcloud player and also enable autoplay and other options that you were looking for. Thanks, Aravind
