Hi Katie Godding, The 'note' type doesn't usually get captured with the form. Could it be that it has an attribute 'name' field set? Notes don't need this - though you may get a validation warning (you can ignore it). You could remove the 'name' and delete the attribute in the feature layer. For any field you don't want to write to the feature, in Survey123 Connect set the bind::esri:fieldType to null and it wont write that feature when the survey is submitted. In your feature layer, you can then delete that attribute completely. Hope that helps! Jamie.

Thanks for the tip Graham Hudgins. Does this impact the users ability to manage the Hub site? Obviously you would not be able to have a core team without an update group. Any other impact before we do this? Can you also confirm that it is the 'Create and own groups that allow members to update all items in the group' privilege that is required for Hub? It sounds like this would be the highest privilege required. A Published can see/edit Hub, but not do the initial creation... This has to be done by an Admin? Thanks. Jamie.

Hi All, I also experienced this issue today, where it failed to create an initiative - I was using an Esri default Publisher role. When I changed to a role with additional privilege (custom pseudo-Admin role), there was no issue. Graham Hudgins, it seems that for HUB, you need the privilege to create groups with update (not in the Publisher role). When I attempted to change the user role back to Publisher (after creating a HUB site), i got the following error message: "Member must not own groups with update capability." I should also mention that this user has no content, or groups, other than the content that is created when the HUB site is created. It is a brand new user account. Jamie.

Thanks Phil! The choice list was the clue i needed. The values in the list are fine (value passed matches the name field). I have a calculation that filters the choice list based on the type of inspection (routine, spot, etc.). I just need to update this to accommodate the changes I am currently making. When i remove this calculation it all works as expected. So my issue is with this and not the URL! Thanks, Jamie.

Hi, I have a custom URL to launch a survey and pass the area of interest and site name. I have the same process for another survey and have no issues. In this case however, the AOI is passed without issue, but the site name comes across as red italic text. When i submit the survey this text is not written to the record in the hosted feature. I am also using the site name for some pulldata functions that are not running. If i manually select the site name, it all works fine. My question is; what does it mean when you get red italic text when using a custom URL (see below)? For example, I think blue text indicates a calculation. Thanks, Jamie

Sorry for the late reply - yes, that would be great! We did a QuickCapture demo last week and have already got some requests coming in. This would add a lot of value when viewing the data in a Dashboard. Thanks.

I would also like to capture photo direction in QuickCapture. Is that currently possible? This attribute would be useful to use for symbology on a map. Johnathan Hasthorpe? Thanks, Jamie.

Hi Joseph Kerski, What is the option for using photos that cannot be shared publicly? How can I access the URL in this case? Thanks. Jamie.

This still seems to be an issue. I would like to store images in ArcGIS Online and reference them for buttons in HUB. I cannot share publicly, so I cannot do anything with images in ArcGIS Online. Very frustrating! If I could share content publicly, i'm sure there are many better options that storing images in ArcGIS Online. For those of us with this restriction, please make the URL available so we can use it!

Hi All, I have had the same issue when using Adobe Illustrator (I am using CS6). Just got it to work with the help of Brett Stokes. It was painful, but working now! As Jing Sun mentioned, you need to make compound paths. After that I had to group the boxes or polygons into a single group. I placed everything within a single layer (boxes and background image), not sure if that made a difference or not. In the image below, 'Boxes' is the group. Make sure to rename all the boxes/polygons with their ID before exporting. Also embed the image (if you are using one) when you export or it won't show up in the survey. One other item of note: check the SVG file with notepad or something. It may have been all the mucking around I was doing to try and get this to work, but i did notice that some of the ID's had underscores in the output file. You may need to clean that up. Hopefully now that i know what i am doing, going from a clean slate I will not see that issue. Time will tell... Hope this helps! Jamie.

Thanks for the comments Derrick Wong and Graham Hudgins. I've done a few tests and added some pictures. Hopefully that will help! I'm not convinced groups are being created (at least not group groups - a 'Site' may be considered a type of 'group'???). When I create a Site, there is a dialogue along the bottom of the page that certainly indicates a group is being created, however when i search for the group afterwards, there is nothing to be found. Also I can create a Site with the same name as an existing group. And a Site with the same name as an existing Site! When you do this, -1, -2, etc. is appended to the URL name of the Site, but not the name you see in your Content. So an existing group is not the issue. For example, if I already have a group called 'Bananas', then create a Site called 'Bananas' (no errors returned at that name), the Site URL will become //bananas-1. If i create another Site called 'Bananas' (no errors returned at that name either), the Site URL will become //bananas-2. So I can have a bunch of Bananas. The HUB Site i am trying to create is 'Pipeline Surveillance'. I get an issue as with 'Pipelin', 'Pipeline' and 'Pipeline ', and again at 'Pipeline Surveil', and 'Pipeline Surveill'. 'Pipeline Surveillance' is not ok also. Though 'Pipeline Surveilla', 'Pipeline Surveillan', and 'Pipeline Surveillanc' are ok! These combinations causing issues are weird in themselves! 'Pipeline Surveillan' is not ok but 'Pipeline Surveillanc' is? What's that all about?!! I would be interested to see if either of you see this issue? Your comment about a registered name is interesting Derrick Wong... Could this be a problem even thought the URL for a Site contains your ArcGIS Online Organisation name? When you mention group names Graham Hudgins, the name is just an alias isn't it? The group is identified by an ID (e.g. da99b6b0a4e94bf59726278b45e8cb4a). Is the alias used over the ID behind the scenes anywhere? Thanks again.

Thanks Derrick Wong. It is 'Sites' which is created through HUB. There is no requirement to have an existing group with the same name and there are no groups with this name - there are similar names, but not this exact name. This still doesn't address the issues of the error message. Character length is greater than 4.

Hi, When naming a HUB site (i'm using ArcGIS Online enterprise - not shared to the public), I get the following message (only for some names): "That name is already in use, please choose another." I know some of the names I have entered do not exist in our Organisational account. So what is HUB checking against? Other HUBs (in other Organisations, Public)? We have no other HUB sites in our Organisational account... Is it looking at similarly named features (hosted features, maps, groups, etc.)? Thanks. Jamie.

On further investigation, I found this: Details—Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS | ArcGIS which says "The details element is used to show information about features or rows from a layer. Its display is based on a layer's pop-up information." So that answers that! I think the Details element should be configured separately to the pop-ups, so i might add that as an enhancement request.

I have an Operations Dashboard with a Map, List, and Details elements. Within the Details, it seems that attachments do not display if they are turned off in the map pop-up. Is this the correct behavior? It seems odd that to enable attachments in the Details element I also have to enable them in the pop-up for the map. When i turn them off in the Map, they no longer display in the Details. I want to be able to click on a feature in the List, show the pop-up in the map, and filter the Details to that record (showing the attached photos). It seems pointless to require the attachments be on in the pop-up so they appear in the Details element… Or is there something I am missing? Thanks.
