Is it just me, or are there analysis tools options that are available via ArcGIS Online that show up as locked for users on ArcGIS Pro Basic? Some even seem to have the same icons. I wish these tools were consistent. At times I end up uploading data that doesn't need to be shared online just because the tool works on AGOL and is locked on Pro. PRO: AGOL

Hi Kory, Thanks for the tip--I actually forgot about this toolbar. The icons kind of hide themselves up there in comparison to the ribbon. I'll try this out. Maybe an option to customize the icon size on this toolbar would be helpful. You can already minimize the ribbon, so some users may work mostly from the quick access toolbar if they could enlarge the icons.

It would be great to add icons that are frequently used when creating, modifying, or saving features to the table / fields panel menu. Users are often editing feature data when a data table is open. When editing, they frequently need to be able to use pan, zoom, and locate features--while still maintaining an edit session. I find myself constantly switching from the locate panel, to the Edit ribbon to create a feature, to the table to add data about a feature, to the Edit ribbon to save updates, back to the explore icon to navigate. If editing tools were available from the table panel menu it would streamline the process of creating and modifying features. Thanks for considering this idea.

It sounds like you have two separate ideas here. Identifying which polygons are selected by using a fill pattern instead of an outline makes so much sense, especially if it is done in the cyan color that everyone is familiar with. Maybe be it would be good to split these two ideas? I think the idea to show selected polygons by a fill should stand on its own, and might get votes faster.

I saw the update email for Pro 2.1, and the email pointed to this link--which didn't mention dot density symbology: What’s in the January 2018 ArcGIS Release | ArcGIS Blog It definitely shows up on the What's new in ArcGIS Pro 2.1 link you posted though! It would be amazing if it really is part of the 2.1 update! (downloading...). Thanks for the info!

Hi Everyone, So, I've been hoping that ESRI would integrate a dot density symbology option into ArcGIS Pro, and there have been some topics on dot density for both Pro and AGOL for awhile. I had been of the mind that this didn't exist yet because it is not showing up as an option under symbology in ArcGIS Pro. Then I saw this webpage on esri.com and wondered if I was missing something? Dot density—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop Any idea if this is possible or not? I don't see the symbology option when I follow the directions at this link. Thanks so much!

Good Morning, I am noticing some new behavior in ArcGIS Pro, and was wondering if others could replicate the problem--and happen to know of a solution. I notice that when I make changes to a layer in the Symbology panel and apply the changes, the entire panel deactivates and the layer I was making edits to is no longer selected. If I want to make more than one change, I have to go back into the Contents panel and select the layer again. It seems like the Symbology panel does not stay "connected" to the selected layer in order to make multiple changes. I don't recall this behavior before and we exclusively use the Pro product. Can anyone else confirm? Is there a fix? It's pretty annoying!

Interestingly--I was looking at all of the formatting options in this very post editor. Pretty impressive! Can some of this be replicated in AGOL / Pro (aside from the goofy smile faces etc)??? This would be one heck of a pop up editor!

I'm perplexed by the same thing. I was working on my pop ups in AGOL, but the window there is fairly small for using custom HTML formatting. I was hoping to use Pro for a better interface and found that it didn't even offer the basic text formatting options that AGOL does: AGOL PRO (no font size options??)--I don't see HTML options anywhere, though I recall ArcMap having this capability. I feel like I'm playing ping pong with myself between the two products!!

I am working with a feature service layer on ArcGIS online. I have data in an integer field that I would like to display as currency. I didn't see any options to configure the integer in currency format. I tried to use the field calculator to convert the numeric data to text. In this field type I am able to add the $ in front of the number, but do not see how to insert the thousands separator on the data. Is their a field calculation or expression that will do this in ArcGIS Online? Thanks!
