Could anyone provide some guidance with an error (400) I am getting when I attempt to install Web AppBuilder. I tried to install the Web AppBuilder about 1 month ago with only Esri's instructions and didn't get very far at all. With the help of Rebecca's blog and suggested links I have gotten pretty close but not quite. My error (400) is an invalid Redirect URI which are steps 3h and 3i in her blog. I ran through these steps a couple times changing the Redirect URI to include/exclude my company domain but its still not accepting them. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance. This is the way I am writting the ReDirect URI https://mycomputername.companydomain:3345 http://mycomputername.companydomain:3345 FYI I also posted this same question as a comment to Rebecca's blog.

Travis, good points, I'm pretty involved with Collector as we have recently chose it as our mobile GIS solution. I support any additional enhancements including the ones you've mentioned. I did want to share something they may be helpful and possibly address #2. The Application Settings of your Web Map has a Layer control which activates the ability to search by features in the map. Under the Find Locations are 2 options By Layer and/or By Address. Usually By Address is selected by default. If you activate by Layer it accesses the layers within the map. You can define which layers are searchable and which fields to search by. Apply these properties to your Web Map and the search tool in Collector can then search, select, and route to those features. Good luck and hope this is helpful!

I simple, introductory programming text for Python. Introduced to me by a friend. Wanted to share in response to a Learning Python poll I took this morning. I read the copyright to be sure I could distribute it and it says "permission is granted to copy, distribute, and/or modify this document"

Mostafa, here's a screen shot of the Template Properties window where you apply the definition query value to the field (highlighted in red).

Mostafa, I agree with Neil that Esri did not design the new editing workflow to allow for easily editing a feature class with a definition query defined but like many things with Esri they did provide a work around. These steps are almost more time consuming then dropping the def query, editing the feature, then adding the def query back. But sometimes you don't want to drop the def query so here are the steps. Begin an edit session, open Create Features, select Organize Templates. In the Organize Features window double click on your feature to open the Template Properties window. In the Template Properties apply the definition query values to the correct field (all fields should be currently <Null>). Once the value is set the template will now be available in the Create Features window. Continue to edit. Sorry for the lengthy reply, hope this is helpful.

Bob, this doesn't solve your problem but I had a similar issue which might shed light on your question. I have a workflow where I would like the shape area to be autopopulated in either Collector or ArcGIS Online. I posted a question to the ArcGIS Online threads and received a response that it was not possible without custom development, the off the shelf tools do not currently allow for it. It would be great if it is possible and I will pay attention to this thread in case someone has another suggestion. Good luck!

My understanding is Collector is only available for iOS and Android devices in the Apple App Store (iTunes) and Android Google Play. Isn't the Amazon tablet an Android device? If so, I think Google Play would be a good place to download Collector. Good luck Reynald.

Karolina, In working with the Web AppBuilder I have not come across an option to apply transparency to the Header Controller, only the style and color are modifiable. There may be an option programmatically that I am unaware of but I do not think a transparency is possible in the off the shelf Web AppBuilder. I hope this is helpful and good luck.

Jon, I would agree that Tim's reply is correct the WebApp Builder Developer version is available for download and the site is very helpful. Tim, question for you. How do you mark an answer correct? I don't seem to see that option. Thanks

Yes, but the coordinate system is WGS 84 and the shape.area is square meters. I actually need to populate the square feet field which is a simple calculation but I would like to do it automatically.

When editing an ArcGIS Online hosted feature layer within a web map or web app is there a way to automatically calculate a field upon creation of the feature? I am trying to automatically calculate the area (square feet) of a polygon after it is created.
