I just had this exact same issue and it turned out I'd forgotten I was editing the same line feature class in ArcMap (long story, I have to edit my annotation in ArcMap for the time being since it's not compatible with Pro). I think when there's no explanation or error code it's probably something like that. Wish there was an error code or a more descriptive message though.

>We do not recommend using multiple parcel fabrics for the same location as you run into the issue of misalignment between them. If you must edit the school districts in another geodatabase (for example - you give it to a contractor that edits it offsite), make sure the schemas match. Yeah, okay. That's why I was asking for a tool. Not everyone has a whole team of people to answer phones and handle customer support, so unfortunately mistakes get made when it's one person. I will figure this out on my own.

I'm running into problems where a tool will fail (it's been several) because there's a null z value. I should be able to disable z values across the board if our organization doesn't use elevation/height values in our data.

@AmirBar-Maor this is made up but close to reality: I have one school district worth of parcels in one parcel fabric and I added a parcel type for specific easements within that school district. I have another school district in a separate parcel fabric, and the phone rings or I have to switch tasks and fail to add that same easement type to that school district. When I go to append the parcels from one or the other, the append tool "fails successfully" in that it will append whatever it can without any indication that there is a problem with the append. I have to be able to diagnose some of this on my own without relying on support. edit: this could be an issue with the schema not matching too? I am honestly not sure since the results don't show me anything. In the past, I've used the export/append cadastral XML tools to append new parcels from a separate fabric. I start entering the new tax year subdivisions in a separate fabric well before including them in the main production fabric (strictly current tax year) so I don't get behind.

My organization does not use Z values and I should be able to disable them entirely. I have encountered more problems with tools failing because of a null Z value than not and we don't even utilize them. edit: running Repair Geometry doesn't really help, as I could run it every single time I make an edit and still run into this problem. The fabric I'm working on passed Repair Geometry before attempting to use Copy Parcels, then Copy Parcels failed with a null Z value error.

Yes, it is Append Parcels. A list of appended parcels (preferably a number amount broken down by the parcel types, but even just a number amount) would be extremely helpful.

I am going to work on this and report back. I wasn't aware of that tool, thank you!

It's in a FGB on a network server. I haven't been able to figure out a way to do it with the existing tools and I've been hammering away at this all afternoon.

Tangential to a tool to check continuity between fabrics, being able to import fabric types from another fabric to a new one would cut down on set-up time.

Still working on appending my new subdivisions to my existing production parcel fabric and if I had a tool to find out if the two fabrics had continuity in the parcel types instead of having to open every single table and check manually (even though I'm 99.9999999% sure I made them identical).

I am struggling with appending new neighborhoods to my main production parcel fabric, as the tool is "successful" but no parcels are appended. I would like to see a list of the features appended (even if its just a number) to be able to make sure all of my data is being appended properly. Right now I'm back to the drawing board because I thought this would work.

@FrankConkling that is my least favorite method. I'm at the point where I avoid using that tool. our parcels are 99.9999% constructed by metes and bounds descriptions so using the Copy Lines To function doesn't work quite right for that.

@jcarlson, sorry! Unjoin would just move the selected parcel to a purgatory kind of space where it would still exist in the fabric (you could see it as a zero area polygon in the attribute table) but not be visible in the display. It was wonky and didn't always work well, but it was useful when it did work.

@jcarlson, for example just now I'm halfway done drawing in a new subdivision and haven't aligned anything yet. I stopped to set all the affected tax parcels historic before continuing and really wished I could have just unjoined my subdivision & lot polygons for a minute to clean up. Why not clean up beforehand? Because there's been a few times where the person who set up the new subdivision may have missed or added a parent parcel in error.

We have the "Show Only Active" option and it's super useful, but having the inverse available would be just as helpful. I used to use the unjoin/rejoin tasks in the ArcMap parcel fabric for this exact operation, but that functionality is gone now.
