Currently, some of the Modify Features tools stay open after they are used and some of them close. Please make this consistent between all tools.
For example: I am using Copy Parallel to copy multiple parcel lines. If I do not define how many repetitions to perform, or if I have to change the selected line to copy, I have to reopen the tool.
Conversely, if I use the Divide tool or the Merge tool those windows stay open after the operation is complete.
Please make this consistent.
I don't think there is a setting for this, but the Copy Parallel tool under modify features closes after each run, whereas it appears most other modify feature tools stay open and active after running. It would be good if there was an option to keep the copy parallel tool open and keep the newly created line selected (as it does now). I imagine there are possibly other users that would like some tools to close after each run so if this could be a tool parameter such as a keep tool active tick box, that would make working with ArcGIS Pro more efficient.
Basic workflow is for creating lot subdivision line work such as blocks and roads of varying width, for each iteration I have to reselect the tool.
P.s. duplicate idea found added as comment - not sure why this is under Parcel Fabric it's modify features tools - which is why I couldn't locate this original idea.
Hi,
We have workflows where we are using the copy parallel tool multiple times.
Example: select a line, in the Modify Features pane, select the Copy Parallel tool. Copy Parallel pane opens and we input criteria: 50 ft, 1 times, Left side. click Copy
The copy parallel works great, except the Copy Parallel tool pane closes and defaults back to the Modify Features pane.
Now we have to reopen the Copy Parallel tool to run another copy parallel. We have not noticed other tool window panes closing after using them. This might be the only one. it would be nice if this tool pane stayed open after running too.
I didn't see this mentioned before. If it was, please let me know and I'll delete this and Kudus that.
Thanks, Cathy
Hello
I'm curious if anything was done to keep the tool from closing after use? It does not appear that Esri has commented on this thread.
Thanks!
