If you're using the paid version you might try contacting AVG to see if they can help out on their end. I wish there were another way 😕

I uninstalled AVG after exhausting all my options to exclude ArcGIS from its definitions (none of which solved the load time problem). I'm not currently using any antivirus software on this machine.

If you're running any antivirus software that may be causing the problem. I went through a couple of rounds of uninstalling/reinstalling ArcGIS before we got to the issue of my antivirus software causing the slowdown. I was running AVG, and that turned out to be my problem.

I have seen the same thing! I wish I knew how those line segments were being generated in the source material. I have no experience with CAD drawing, but at one point in your conversion did you use a planarize operation? I know that's when I've noticed a bunch of little overshoots in my plats that came from a CAD source.

I tried to select multiple lines and use the reverse bearing command, but that does not seem to work. What I've done in the past to calculate bearings and radii in a pinch is to export the parcel, convert to line, and use the "split features into COGO lines" tool on the COGO toolbar. It will generate the bearing for you provided there is a field in the line feature class for it to populate.

You would need to import your feature class into the parcel fabric. Load data to a parcel fabric—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop would be the a good place to start. The videos here are also very useful. This would be a decent one to start with, I think: Video Link : 3550 After you have all your data migrated into the fabric, you can use the parcel division tool.

That's kind of disappointing! I'm not running a virtual environment either, and we run Server 2012 R2. I hope there is a patch for this soon as well.

I just updated from 10.3.1 to 10.4.1 and I am experiencing the same slow start. I already had a ticket open for a question I had about licensing anyway, and asked about the long load time and was told that this was expected behavior

I am also having this problem, and I am running out of ideas to try and fix it. Did you ever figure out a way to get your annotations back to normal?

The example given in the video is the "back lot problem". A line that was originally drawn in as 100 feet is now broken into two 50 foot sections by an adjoining lot. Kind of like this: The original line would still have 100 in the distance field and that can throw off the measurement tools in the parcel fabric, as far as I can tell from the videos. I don't have any experience with them yet 😕

Hello, I've been watching the Land Records Meetup videos and they have been a great help so far in helping me migrate our data to a LGIM parcel fabric. Bad COGO values are mentioned several times and it's recommended that they be removed, but are they talking about just the distances (which I understand) or the distances and the angles? Thanks!

I had a similar issue when we were coming from coverages. Turns out that I had accidentally imported my line feature classes twice, causing the same kind of topology error. Try converting your shapefiles to feature classes in a GDB and running Find Identical (and then use Delete Identical) or simply going into an edit session with your lines and selecting one to see if two features pop up. Way easier than going through the Error Inspector and clicking "Subtract" for all of the errors.

I am working through the steps outlined here in the documentation about loading large datasets (165,221 polygons and 677,338 lines) and the tool that is provided runs for a second and states it completed migrating the parcels. The topology has been completely validated. The documentation doesn't state either way about the data being in a SDE, would that affect the tool? Attached is a screen capture showing the tool dialog box.

Okay, I will try that out. Would I still be able to visualize the inactive lot lines by a separate attribute? We still have a SYMBOL field left over from when we migrated from coverages that have individual attributes for each line (ie: 6 is an active parcel line, 7 is an inactive lot line, etc).

Sorry about the thread necromancy, but I found this when trying to figure out a solution for my lot lines. We are working on migrating over to a parcel fabric and I have been struggling with what to do about our "inactive" lot lines like the dashed in line lot_tax.jpg. I've attached a screen shot from our current set up, with the green lines and land hooks in green. How would I type our lot lines feature class to fit into the LGIM?
