The algorithm roofGable(byHeight, XX) automatically creates the gables at the smaller sides of the building. Here is a hacky solution to rotate the gable roof by 90°: RoofRot -->
s(scope.sx*0.001,'1,'1)
roofGable("byHeight", XX)
s(scope.sx*1000,'1,'1)

Hi Lessie, Thanks for the additional info. There have been some changes to the height conversion that do affect EPSG Projection 28992 - Amersfoort / RD New. If possible, please use the latest version of CityEngine CityEngine 2016.1 release notes—Esri CityEngine | ArcGIS for Desktop . Otherwise you could make a new scene using the corresponding UTM coordinate system (EPSG:32634). 3rd option is to export the KML from CityEngine, adding an Global Offset for Y to compensate for the shift (Altitude Mode = absolute).

Hello Lessie, For georeferencing DAE Collada files, KML is the way to go. The geo reference is added by the KML <Location> tag. It specifies the exact coordinates of the Model's origin in latitude, longitude, and altitude. Latitude and longitude measurements are standard lat-lon projection with WGS84 datum. Altitude is distance above the earth's surface, in meters, and is interpreted according to <altitudeMode> or <gx:altitudeMode>. For further information please consult the KML documentation: Models | Keyhole Markup Language | Google Developers On import to CityEngine the KML lat-lon WGS84 coordinates are projected to the scene's coordinate system. To narrow it further down, could you please answer the following questions? Which scene coordinate system are you using? How large is the offset? Is it constant? Are the KMLs located correctly in ArcGIS Earth ?

Hello Sheyla, Have you tried to open the web scene locally by opening the 3WS file from the CityEngine Navigator? The file size is far of the recommendations given here: CityEngine Web Scene (3ws) Export Please try to reduce the size by reducing the scene extend reducing the number of objects simplifying the geometry An other solution would be using Esri Scene Layer Package (spk) Export It is the successor format which overcomes may limitations of 3WS

Hello Peter Generally Python 2.7 coming with CityEngine does support network connections. Scripts can have access to CityEngine functionally via Python Scripting The error message seems to come from the Python script you are using that is trying to make a connection to a server. For help on these topics I usually search Overview — Python 2.7.12 documentation or Stack Overflow.

Hello Daniella, Is there any error information in the CityEngine log (Window > Show Log)? When exporting models there is also a accompanying log file with the same file name written to the directory. It might also contain information. Also note: When using the Navigator to open the directory please be aware, that a refresh (F5) might be needed to find the newly created files.

Hello Michael, the MIME types are set correct. Is this happening with all webscenes? Have you tried access Web Scenes in both ways? a) reference the webscene with url parameter: http://SERVER.DOMAIN/PATH/TO/WEBVIEWER/viewer.html?3dWebScene=../webscenes/NAME_OF_WEBSCENE.3ws b) open the viewer with no parameters, and drag a local 3ws file onto it: http://SERVER.DOMAIN/PATH/TO/WEBVIEWER/viewer.html Please try again with the latest version of the CE Web Viewer (version: 4.3) delivered with CityEngine 2016.1

Thank you for your question. There seems to be quite an offset between the terrain and the road network. Aligning the the terrain to the road network creates a ridge around it. To avoid the stair effect you could use a higher lateral resolution heightmap, but the steep drop would still be there. The 16bit height resolution is not the problem here. So I suggest to either first add a global elevation offset to the terrain to make it match the roads or do a [Graph > Align graph to terrain ] step and then do the [Align terrain to shape]

Hello Pedro Regarding your question about the CityEngine Web Scene viewer: There is some documentation about the requirements here: About CityEngine Web Viewer—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS The terrains get converted to a 16 bit representation, so using 32 bit Terrains should not add to the file size. When opening a web scene, everything is loaded at once, there is no dynamic loading. So to enhance performance it is a good idea to keep the file size in mind. Using lower detail Sketchup models or reducing the DTM resoluion is a way to go.

Hello Brian, CityEngine is positioned as a professional tool. Users generally run it on PCs with Windows Pro or Enterprise. Development and certification focuses on this use case. This does not mean that CityEngine won't install or run on the Home version. Just keep in mind, that if there is a problem that affects only Windows Home, the suggested solution would be changing to Windows Pro or Enterprise.
