Hello Anete, What is the exact error message you receive? In the message above "[1905.2194, 2139370.5, 1209.4117]" hints, that the problem is in the y-direction (this means up in the CityEngine native coordinate system). Did you try to import the FileGeodataBase into an empty CityEngine scene? Is the error then still occurring?

Hi Aida, I'm answering on behalf of Eric and Cheryl. Unfortunately the facade wizard of version 2015.0 is affected by a bug, that does not show the texture. Please upgrade to the latest version (2015.2) to use the facade wizard. Sorry for your extra effort. Thomas

Dear Nirdesh Singh, CityEngine can export models in the KML format. KMLs store location data in the geographic WGS84. 3D models are also stored in the COLLADA interchange file format. Models | Keyhole Markup Language | Google Developers If that is not suitable for you needs, than the XML file structure of the could be extended by adding additional tags. This can be achieved by a python callback function called for each shape after generation. http://cehelp.esri.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.procedural.cityengine.help/html/manual/python/python_scripting03.html But of course this is an customization that does not adhere to the Collada specification. Dear NIrdesh Singh, CityEngine only allows projected coordinate systems (PCS) as scene coordinate systems. Coordinate System Dialogs For importing base maps, it is important to know, that CityEngine does not support re-projection. Therefore the imported raster data needs to be in the same coordinate system as your scene. Importing Georeferenced Data Best practice for CityEngine is to use a national grid or UTM as scene coordinate system.

Hello Lahmer Belkacem Thank you for the data. I had a look at the DEM TIF you provided. The issue is, that it uses a geographical coordinate system for georeferencing. Unfortunately CityEngine only supports Cartesian coordinate systems for terrain layers. Please export the DEM again using "WGS 1984 UTM Zone 31N" coordinates (same as OSM file) for georeferencing. City Engine Help: Importing Georeferenced Data "No reprojection nor rotation is applied to image data on import. The image's coordinate system is used only as reference system for location, extent and unit (translate and scale transformation) for the image data during import. It is therefore important to have image data ready in the target coordinate system before importing into CityEngine." Thomas F

Could you please provide a use case for your feature request? The CityEngine team knows some special use cases, where this can make sense, but we are still collecting more... The C++ SDK can only provide a fraction of the CE python functionality, but here it is easier to open it up the externals IDEs.

Hi André, Thank you for this qestion. In default graph drawing mode, one wants the terrain be smothed to align to the network graph. But you are using a premodeled bridge as a base for the graph. This means the feature has to be deactivated. Settings for new streets can be controlled by using the Street Creation Settings dialog. To open the dialog, choose Graph → Street Creation Settings... from the main menu. There you have to uncheck the "Align terrain" option. For more details please refer the CityEngine Help on that topic: Creating and Editing Street Networks Manually Best regards

Hi Tim, Thank you for your comprehensive feedback! Based on your insights I have created users stories for futher improving the feature. I now understand that for your work, you need very high accuracy in shadow analysis. This means that the 3D models casting the shadows, also have to be very exact. Please understand that for CityEngine there was a decision made to only offer moth accuracy. I know, that in order to be more accurate the day and even the year (leap year effects, precession and nutation of the earth, ...) need to be considered.

Scene Light is defined by solar elevation and azimuth. The most important factors to determine these values are: Geo Location (long, lat) Time (morning, noon, evening) corresponding Time Zone Month (on northern hemisphere June for max and December for min elevation) For most analysis the shortest (June) and longest (December) shadows over the course of a day are relevant. In this two months solar elevation and length of a day are not varying much from day to day. So for simplification the exact day can be neglected.

Hi Kenneth Lindhardt, Thank you for your report. For CityEngine 2015.2 the original issue of this thread has been fixed. So I couldn't reproduce what you described. Here is what I did: create a new project (Menu > File > New... > CityEngine project) add a image file to the assets folder (via drag and drop) select the image file in the navigator then open the crop tool (right click > Crop image... or Menu >Shapes > Crop image...)

Hi Ulf Silbersky First and foremost: Intel Iris Pro Graphics is not officially supported. Please refer the latest official hardware requirements: CityEngine 2015 system requirements—Esri CityEngine | ArcGIS for Desktop CityEngine is designed on cross platform standards to provide the customers a choice between different hardware and operating systems. This means, there is nothing fundamentally prohibiting CityEngine from running on this hardware. There might even be official support in the future. So, if any users come across issues on this hardware, please report them here
