Pro really needs the SDE management tools added back. Without them, there is no way for me to switch to Pro since the majority of job is managing SDE. In addition, it would be nice if you could drag and drop from the project pane into GP tools like you can in catalog already. They have an opportunity to make a "Database Management" project template that is more focus on managing data than using it. There are many database level information they could provide a tables or reports. So me all feature class/dataset privileges that user X has. How many edits were preformed today? GDBT toolset state tree is useful at times. A report of each feature class and when it was analyzed last. And so on. Much of this can be gotten from SQL but having it in the same place as my SDE management software would save alot of time.

I wanted to share an issue with the community that we just worked thru. After our open data site went live, one of our customers point out that all our field names in our parcels layer were wrong. Instead of names like gpin, taxmapnumb, source, etc, the name were gisdbvecto, gisdbvec_1, gisdbvec_2, and so on. The funny thing was that the data tab in both ArcGIS Online and open data should the names correctly. After working with ESRI support and doing some research, I found the problem was the join. We had joined our ownership table to the parcels layer. This caused the names to be gisdb.vector.gpin which was then truncated to gisdbvecto since of the character limit with shapefiles. The solution to the problem was to create a database view instead of doing a join the mxd. In a view, you can rename fields to anything you want which prevents extend name. So if you are serving up your data with joins, you might want to check it (ie download it via open data and open it in ArcMap). You might need to create a view instead. Hope it helps.

Hi Courtney, Is there a way you can change the way Open Data handles anchors? The problem we are encountering is that the title bar (one with your login info to the right) covers up the first part of where the anchor jumps to. So if I put my anchor on the title of the section I want to jump to, the title is covered up the bar. We ended up putting the anchors at the end of the previous sections as a workaround, but that can lead to problems later if we add new sections. Thanks

Hi Klara, Thanks for the response. With the help of one our other developers, I was able to solve the issue with the code. The problem lies with the padding element in the CSS. By removing it, the bar works again. Here is our code: <style>
h2.single-sb-heading {margin-bottom: 0px; padding: 0px; font-size: 20px; color: #005eb8;}
.ember-application .jumbotron {padding: 0px auto; margin: 0px auto;}
.ember-application .jumbotron h1 {font-size: 28px;text-shadow:none;}
.ember-application .jumbotron p {padding-bottom: 0px;}
.ember-application .jumbotron form input {width:500px;}
</style>

My co-workers and I can't seem to log into Open Data using the Microsoft Edge browser. Viewing pages that don't require a log in work but the login freezes and then gives an error 500. I have tested this using my work and personal computers. Anyone else experiences this?

I am using the code provided in the Dev Summit's Deep Customize to increase size of the open data search bar. Using the code described in this post, Tips: Styling the Search Bar , works fine in Chrome but makes the search bar unusable in Internet Explorer. The search bar text box doesn't display the text at all when typing.

In ArcGIS Pro, is there anyway to see what privileges are assigned to a SDE feature class or table? Help documentations says to use the Change Privileges geoprocessing tool to change existing privileges but that tool doesn't allow you to see what already assigned. In ArcCatalog, this option used to be under the manage option in tooltip popup. Having the ability to see what is assigned already in an important feature when managing databases.

Currently, when you disable archiving in SDE, you can choose to save the history table as a new feature class. However, there is no way to re-attached that saved history table when you re-enable archiving. This is a problem when you need to briefly turn off archiving to make changes to the layer or to copy it from one database to the other. If there was a tool to re-attach the archive table to the feature class, it would allow for a more complete archive history. This could cause a "false gap" in the history if edits were made during the time archiving was turned off, but the DBA should still be given the option. An additional option to this solution would be to allow the user to attach multiple archiving table. This way the DBA could save off each year as a new archive table but still be able to attach them as needed. In this case, the tables would be attached to the historical version tree but the records would not be imported into active archive table.

We have the same issue. We tried creating a script to download (thus refreshing the cache) each night but weren't able to get it to work. I would love to see an the refresh option expanded to manual, nightly, weekly, or on demand.

Yeah, you will need to give that user Insert/Delete/Update privileges to that feature class. Once you finish updating the metadata, you can remove the privileges.

Are you having problems loading a image you already have to the thumbnail metadata? Or are you having trouble making the image. We are able to store the thumbnails in our metadata in Oracle SDE. Here is our directions to our users. How to make a Thumbnail At Preview Tab in ArcCatalog. Wait for the full Preview to draw then click on the Create Thumbnail button on the geography toolbar. This will generate the thumbnail and put it on the Description tab automatically.

Are there any plans to allow us to customize the data layer result pages in future updates? We thankful being able to add more pages now. It would be great to be able to customize the search result pages and the the data layer results pages since those are the pages that our customers will look at most after the home page.
