Jeremy/Doug, Appreciate the feedback and comments and sorry for any frustration this has caused. We have had challenges finding an appropriate solution given the nuances/changes found in Android OS versions and our requirement to support as far back as Android 4.1. What we implemented seemed a compromise we could come to in the short term. We do have in our backlog to improve the way we work with SD cards as we evolve Collector. Thank you for being passionate users and voicing your feedback. Jeff

How to get running again 1. Uninstall Collector from your device. 2. Navigate to “My files” > “Internal Storage” > “ArcGIS_Collector” Open “offline_data” and delete any local content left on the device. 3. Install from the store. It does seem to be happening mostly on Samsung Galaxy S7 and S6 devices. Our apologies for any inconvenience this has caused. We will update the blogs once we isolate this.

On June 5 th , we released a new version of Collector that is now available in the iTunes App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store and the Windows Store. This is a minor update but adds some strategic new enhancements that will improve the way you work with high accuracy GPS receivers, manage attachments, work with basemaps and use Collector in a connected environment. GPS Averaging – can be used to improve the precision of your high-accuracy collection workflows. You can capture a number of positions and create a location from the average of those positions. Rename Media Attachments - now you can provide a meaningful name to the photos that you take around a feature. This is one of the most requested enhancements. SD card support (Android) - you can use the SD card to store and manage basemaps for easier, faster deployment of data. Continuous Collect Improvements - now supporting feature types that contain relationship classes. Layer Refresh Support - if your feature layers have a layer refresh interval set, Collector will honor the refresh setting. This is valuable when working with maps in a connected state as the graphics of a feature are cached when on the device and this will force a query/update. In addition to these updates, we have several additional bug fixes and minor stability improvements. Please refer to our documentation website for more information. The Collector Team

During a recent EGUG Birds of a Feather webcast, Kurt Towler from Sulfer Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC), presented on how they used Collector for ArcGIS with Eos Positioning GNSS receivers to inspect 7,640 locations, capture over 34,000 asset records in just 32 days. That's 235 collections per day! Paired to the Eos Arrow receiver, their median accuracy was 4.6 cm, dramatically improving the accuracy and currency of their data. The webinar was recorded and uploaded to YouTube. You can view it here:

Hi Chad, I made a copy of your web map into my org and was able to successfully load it using the 10.4.2 version of Collector on my iPhone 7 device. I think it would be best for you to contact support so that they can triage the issue you are running into. Thanks, Jeff

Chris, You need to have at least 1 editable feature layer in your map. I would go through the map and check if: Editing is disabled on your layers. If Editing is disabled on the feature service. Another thing to potentially check is that if you sign into Collector using a different account than the one used to author the map and the feature layer/feature service that the map and services are shared in a group that the Collector user has access to. Hope this helps!

Hi Rachael, We currently have an Early Adopter Program set up to support Portal 10.5 now. There were some unforeseen challenges with supporting 10.5 on top of other hot fixes/patches to the product so we have the early adopter program for 10.5 and will officially release support with 10.5.1 this summer. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Jeff

Erik/Hannes, Thanks for your inquiry. This enhancement request is in our backlog but we have yet to implement and unfortunately it will be some time before we can do so. Do not plan to see it in the product within 2017. It would be great to get your use cases/workflows so that we can append them to our backlog item. Here are a couple of questions that will help us out: - Can you describe what you are creating and what you need to snap to? - Are you looking to edit/reshape existing polylines/polygons and need topological operators too? If so, can you provide examples? - Are you simply tapping on the map when you are snapping or expecting to move a position coming from GPS? Thanks! Jeff

Hi Nadine, Unfortunately we need more information to go from to see what the problem may be. Collector does support nested relationships. It is important to note that only GlobalID based relationships can be maintained by the software for you. For example - the relationship between the Point feature class and the service table would need to be modeled using a GlobalID field as the primary key on the Point feature class and a GUID field as the foreign key in the service table. Likewise in the service to meter table. If you do not base the relationship by GlobalID/GUID then the relationship can be viewed in Collector but it cannot be maintained by the system (you will need to maintain them). I hope this helps and if not, please reach out! Thanks for your post! Jeff

Hi Lancaster - from a quick glance it looks as though you may not have set up a location profile in Collector? If you do not set up a location profile, Collector will assume that positions coming from your receiver are in WGS84. However if you are connecting to a VRS network, they are most likely coming in as Ohio South (NAD83). Here is a documentation link describing the location profile: Use high-accuracy GPS—Collector for ArcGIS | ArcGIS Thanks! Jeff

We released a minor update to the Workforce for ArcGIS web app inside of ArcGIS Online today (Jan 31st, 2017). It includes a few focused enhancements that improve the way that you dispatch assignments to mobile workers. Here are a few highlights worth mentioning. Disable Clustering Clustering can be an extremely useful method for visualizing work assignments, especially when viewed at a small scale. However you have asked us to provide the flexibility to turn off clustering so that dispatchers can see individual assignments even when multiple assignments are visible in a small area. To provide the utmost flexibility, this is a subtle switch available to all Dispatchers directly within the web app. You can now turn on/off clustering when you see fit. Filtering Assignment Types and Priorities When creating assignments using the web app we have added some targeted enhancements that help improve productivity. Using the keyboard can be much faster than using the mouse and if you haven’t yet discovered, you can use tab and enter to move quickly through the experience of filling out the new assignment form. To help with this process, you can filter long assignment lists by typing characters that will get you to the type you want to set quickly. We added this same ability to the Priority drop down as well. Worker Thumbnails Take that favorite selfie and making it your user thumbnail pays off in Workforce. It can be difficult to associate the worker on the map with the worker in the list but by adding the worker’s thumbnail image into the icon in both helps Dispatchers make that mental leap. Assign to the closest Mobile Worker When picking the Mobile Worker that you want to assign work to, it can be quite useful to see how far away they are from the assignment you want to give them. A subtle addition into the web app is a recognition of distance away. For a list of all additions to the web app, please read our What’s New. So What’s Next?? You might be wondering when Workforce will be supported with ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5? We are busy working on this right now. Coming either at the end of March or early in April we will provide a standalone setup that lets you install the Workforce web app on top of your 10.5 Portal install. Workforce projects, maps and services will be written to the ArcGIS Data Store. How about Android? Are you going to release it soon? Well yes we are! We are finalizing certification right now and look for an update coming soon to Google Play and the Amazon App Store! We have a lot planned for 2017! Please stay tuned for announcement of future updates as we move into the spring! Workforce Dev Team
