So I was pulling my hair out on the whole copy from one layer paste to another thing 'till I stumbled upon this thread. Win! But I have to ask, what was wrong with the way it works in Arc? Select the geometry from Layer 1; Ctl-V Pick a template from the Dialogue that pops up How does having to contort your fingers into CTL-ALT-V make bulk editing more efficient? When I read stuff like this I really miss Arc Pad. So simple, connect it to a computer with a cable. What could go wrong? I had a similar workflow many years ago, mapping streams all over the southeast, I'd get back to my truck/hotel/hobo camp at the end of the day, transfer what was on the device to the laptop, have a lookee-see, make plans for the next day, provision other devices with my data.... By their nature, headwater streams are really far from lots of things, like the beer store, battery chargers, and cell towers. I'm sure Redlands has great cellular coverage, but Collector just doesn't work out for where folks need to use it: in the field (think of a giant meadow guarded by gnomes that use telepathy to block cell signals: that's what being in the "field" is like). Add to your idea the ability to cache logins. This happens to me a lot: have a team out for multiple days. In the heat, the iPad batteries drain really fast. So stuffed in a back pack for a 6 hour hike to investigate the latest sasquatch sighting, the darned thing dies. I've got an App For That! A charger brick. Based on the number of ArcSOC's running, I'm assuming you're spawning more than 1 or 2 feature services. ArcGIS Server and SQL are memory HOGS. I was in your boat a few years ago, and learned through painful experience to isolate each application of the GIS "stack" on it's own VM, and set the Hyper-V memory settings accordingly. There is no way you're going to get the performance you're expecting with SQL and GIS SVR on the same machine, with that many service instances (yes, even just 28). Trust me....kick SQL to its own VM, and a physically separate VHD if you can. If SQL and the GIS SVR Data store share a VHD, you're going to have the same performance problems. I went further and put the SQL log and temp files on physically unique VHD's, and saw further improvement. Another option would be to move your entire environment to a high-speed SAN...e.g. a Dual NIC QNAP with RAID 10. You're further limited by what appears to be 12 cores, not sure how your hyperv is set up, but Portal, SVR, and SQL (with 49 users!), you're really pushing the edge of the envelope. Just for giggles what happens when you turn off Portal in Services?  Would love to see how you fix this, but, the best recommendation you're going to get is to call Tech Support. Drew, very cool! But I can't do something like pictured below. I like to keep my editing tools at the bottom of the screen, and have every tool available, as, I generally use most of them for big projects. Fussing around with ribbon customization has no similarity to the very simple and quick task of turning a toolbar on and dragging it where you want.  ... View more
